1. I realize I should have posted to coding I think, my issue is: Hi, I am stuck with a blog I imported where my client has entered in posts from a trip, where Day 1 is the oldest post and Day 264 is the most recent. I want the user to be able to click through, starting at Day 1 then Next to Day 2 etc … so the opposite of how the functionality works. I have seem some questions through searching but no answers. Please help! Using a Brine template. Thank you!!
2. I'm working through some gnarly product imports and want edto share this formula I came up with. It's nothing complicated, but it was useful to me. This formula, where 'A2' is the cell containing a product title, strips out special characters in the title, replacing them with hyphens, and makes the whole thing lowercase. In this case, I'm replacing spaces, commas, and forward slashes. Finally, it replaces two consecutive hyphens with one, should that happen. All of the nesting makes it look like nonsense, but that's really all it's doing. =IF(ISBLANK(A2),"",LOWER(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(A2," ","-"),",",""),"/","-"),"--","-"))) In one case where a clothing store client has the product's brand name as a tag and not in the Title, I created one of the above for the Tags field value and then concatenated it with the title URL string. That way the product page URL would contain the brand, hopefully improving SEO. This formula will work in Excel, Google Sheets, and Numbers.
3. Hi there, I've been tinkering with a trial Squarespace account and it looks great! Really easy to use, great features, etc. but I notice that I can't import my existing blog? This seems REALLY basic and would be needed for a lot of interested customers. Will that be supported anytime soon? I'd make the switch if that was easy to implement. Thanks, Sara
4. Hi I'm trying to do batch editing of my inventory but I can't import anything. "The file product_import-v1.csv does not appear to be a supported file." No matter what I do, I get the same error. I use OpenOffice Calc to edit it so I thought maybe it's modifying the file in some way that makes it invalid, but I've ruled that out because I can't even import the sample csv template immediately after downloading it. Like, I click "download csv template" then click "upload squarespace csv" and put the same file back in and it gives me the error.
5. Hello guys, did someone had issue with imported products? When I want to add them in summary field they are named imported products. I have tried to see where I can change that name. I see that those products are in the folder /imported-products/ and when I can't change that. Thank you
6. I was wondering if anyone can share some ideas on how to successfully migrate a large website from Squarespace to WordPress? Steps I've already taken. I've downloaded the XML file from Squarespace I've installed the WordPress Importer Plugin I've imported the XML file into my local dev WordPress install I've installed the Import External Images Plugin The issue I'm having is that the WordPress Importer Plugin fails to download some images from the XML file. Also the Import External Images Plugin is not able to recognize some of the images from the Squarespace XML file. The pictures show but are hotlinked to Squarespace which means once I upload to production environment and cancel the squarespace account, the images will be broken. What I'm trying to accomplish is to get all the images properly uploaded to my local dev site and then migrate to production site. I've Googled this question with no good solution so far. Any Ideas? Thanks
7. I'm really lost for what to do here, and this is happening with several examples of email lists in csv format. I am trying to import a CSV of email signups that were people who came directly to a landing page and entered their information in order to receive ticket presale notifications. All of the emails are valid (I even recognize a handful of them) and are 100% voluntary signups of people who engage with our business. Additionally, there are a few I am importing from venues we work with. They are lists on which people opted into marketing communications. As for the quality of these email addresses, they MUST be real and valid and properly formatted - these are emails the customer used to receive order confirmations and tickets in order to attend an event. So in all of these cases, I get that error message, which is making me entirely regret migrating from MailChimp to SquareSpace for this part of our business. I get that spam and quality of email lists are a thing, I just can't think of a better example than voluntary signups by people who are clearly real individuals? I need a rather urgent resolution on this or else I will have to go back to MailChimp, so any help is appreciated!
8. Hi, I am importing products from a .csv file. the import is successful but the product image is a blank image. the image url does start with http:.Also can square space not import images from https url?
9. Hi, I'm hoping to import a pretty large blog from wordpress in XML format. When I tried my first import, the blog posts lost all line breaks. The XML looks like this:
this is paragraph 1. This is paragraph 2
But it will come out like this: (Note the lack of space after "." This is paragraph1.This is paragraph 2 Is there a way to edit the XML so that the content imports correctly? Thanks
10. Greetings, I want to add additional photos to an existing gallery and from what I can tell this option doesn't exist. I go to my gallery block, hit edit. In here, one will notice several options. Content, Design at the top and Upload Media and Use Existing Gallery as selections. When I click Upload Media, one has two options. Either click Upload Images or click the plus (+) sign in the bottom right hand corner (which allows you to search through already uploaded images - which is helpful). When I click search, one has the three options above. Free, Premium and Imported. I click Imported. When one clicks on an image - it doesn't allow one to select MULTIPLE images to upload. It just immediately selects the one image you clicked to "add" however it will add the single image and replaces every single image you've had in the gallery. So the question remains, "HOW does one add images to an existing gallery without having to redo the damn gallery all over every time one needs to add additional photos?"
11. Hi, I am looking to transfer a client over from Wordpress to SS. He has a CSV list of about 500 gift vouchers. (Code, Value, Email, Name etc). Is there a way that this could be imported into the squarespace voucher system? Thanks for any advice. :)G.
12. I'm considering switching from Big Commerce to Squarespace but wondering if I can upload my client list so that people won't have to start new with our updated site?
13. I need to create comparison sites using different templates. I thought maybe I could export my site and import, but I know Squarespace doesn't recommend importing their own file, although they support importing other sites' formats. When trying to import, I get the error: "— com.squarespace.v6.business.content.exceptions.InvalidContentItemException: urlId cannot be null: 82RWHTREFWN3BLDNAFC6" I opened the file in Word and an xml viewer and don't see a tag (or even mention) of a urlID, or the string at the end. I get I'm trying to do something that's not recommended, but just asking to see if there is an easy fix or something I'm missing.
14. I have about 10,000 inventory items and I want to be able to import the into squarespace and associate an image location in the file so that I don't have to manually go in and assign each image to each inventory item. Any idea if there is a 3rd party or code out there to be able to do this?
