  1. I have a nagging question that's driving me up the wall.. As you may know, adding an image in the blog using the image block (specifically) introduces padding around the image (around 10~15px?). While this isn't usually a problem, I'd like to remove (or better yet, customize) the space between, so that the images touch each other on all sides (like a photo wall). Is there a way to do this using the custom CSS function? It would seem like a fairly easy parameter to change. Any help would be greatly appreciated! p.s. Adding multiple images really is a pain on SS6 without using the gallery bloc
  2. I'm using an unlinked page as my home page. Currently it consists of a single image. I would like a random (different) image from my site to appear there every time the home page is visited. Here's the site: http://mileswintner.com/ Thank you!
  3. I’m using Hayden and already tried the Custom CSS .site-title img { max-height: XXXpx; max-width: XXXpx;} With various sizes but in vain. Any ideas? I’m not on developer platform, could that be it? cadoganfs.squarespace.com Thank you
  4. I would like to know how to target an image in my CSS to apply a style only to this image?
  5. I'm looking for a way to make my header transparent only on my homescreen. Unfortunately, there is no option to keep the header transparent when over images, so I'm left leaving it as a solid color on every page, or transparent on every page (which means it can't be seen with my current colors). Does anyone know how to solve this? I'd appreciate the help. Site: link textPassword: Hellomammoth821!
  6. Hi, I'd like to add an image file to feature on my cover page, ideally positioned just underneath the 'enter site' 'contact' and 'social media buttons'. I know cover pages are hard to modify but I'm also aware that they can be modified using page header code injection on the page settings. I'm therefore wondering whether this is at all possible? Thanks, Stephen. 7. Hi, I'm currently using the Bedford template and it doesn't allow for a background image. It is my understanding that you can use CSS to do this. This is the first time I have used CSS. I used it on this site to change the font already and that worked. I have spent two days going to different forums and trying all the codes I can find and nothing seems to work. This is the site I'm working on: http://phyredup.life There is currently a banner image set up with the image I want as a background because my client wants it on there and that's the best I can do right now. Can anyone help? T
  8. Has anyone had success with using a animated gif for a image block? When uploading it says 'Processing Failed.' My gif shows up on the page however, does not stay responsive and gets cut off. Here is my example. kaseymahoney.com/lowend-theory/ Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you-K
  9. Hey everybody, hoping you can help. I want to design some images to span the entire width of the screen (like the headers already do on FIVE). However, I want them to appear in the body, but span past the side of the container width. I put a stock image in place here: https://greencellfoam.squarespace.com/green-cell-coolers/ to show you the problem. The image block for the header obviously goes full and this one is limited to the page width. Thanks for the help!
  10. Hello, My question is regarding the use of different image shapes within an image block. How can I create a circular image format? If it helps, the url with which I am currently working is https://cauri-jaye-cwsu.squarespace.com/config#/pages|/our-story-1 Thank you,Ryan
  11. Does anyone know how to have an image change on the rollover?
  12. Hi, I'm re-doing my website using the York template. For my portfolio page, I'm using a gallery displayed as a grid where each image can be viewed in a lightbox. In my gallery, I added a title and sometimes a description for SEO purposes but I realise that this data appears in the front end when the images are opened in a lightbox, which is really unattractive (see attachment). Is there a code I can use to avoid the title and description to appear on my website but still be accessible by Google? And what do I need to do exactly? Thanks!
  13. This question may have been asked many times before but is it possible to reduce the side padding of the main website container? If possible can you set padding to 0 to make photos fullscreen? I'm currently using Bedford.
  14. Hi there, I am wanting to know if you can add a full width coloured background strip behind a type block? I want to add strips of colour to divide the type like the grey strips in this site http://blussh.com.au/about/ that I know was created is Squarespace. I have very basic knowledge of editing code if this is how it needs to be done. Could I have instructions on how to do this? I am currently using the Five template. Thanks for your help,
  15. Hi all! I am trying to alter the hover state of an image caption by increasing the colored band to cover the full image on hover, and vertically and horizontally align the image caption text. I was able to get the colored background to cover the full image, and center the text horizontally, but I cannot get the vertical alignment to budge! Any ideas on what line of code I need to change?? Basically I want it to function like the hover states on this template...: https://www.squarespace.com/templates/?template=flatiron ...But this is the page I am working on: http://www.mollypetroski.com/po
  16. I know my GIF loops forever locally, I created it to loop forever, but when I upload it to Squarespace, it works, but it won't loop. I tried it in my header as my logo and in an image block and it acts the same. I am using the Motto template and I'm still in my trial period. Can this be changed with custom code?
  17. I have a gallery grid and am wanting to find a way of being able to hover over each thumbnail and it shows an id number for each picture. It shows the ID number on the rollover when I click and the lightbox enlarges the image, but ideally would like it to show on the gallery thumbnails also using hover. I'm not looking for anything fancy, just two words of text to show over each picture when hovering. I have NO experience with CSS (but am happy to give it a try!) so if anyone can help, please make it as simple as you can :) Could you also please let me know if the code would ALL go into the
  18. Is there a way that I can add a link that downloads an image?
  19. How can I centre captions (rather than justify left) underneath an image/image block?Am using the Supply template. Thanks!
  20. Everything I've tried, from the dimensions given in the help forum to independent websites has wound up stretched, blown up or distorted in some other way. Can someone please just give the instructions as to what the dimensions are AND what settings to adjust (if necessary) to ensure the banner looks as it should for the template as designed? For those of us without programming skills, we count on ease of use and/or clear instructions to make our sites look like they should. Though there is a learning curve, this type of frustration is why we come to Squarespace rather than getting a PhD t
  21. I'm using Bedford template. I find I cannot adjust the amount of space that my banner image takes up on the screen. Naturally I want it to stretch width-wise, but vertically it takes up the entire screen on my Mac, and only ¼ on PC browsers. Is there a way to standardize this? Also, just in general a way to drag to banner area up and down to dictate the spread of the image? Thanks in advance.
  22. I would like the entire background of a page to be an image. Can I do this? I’m using the Bedford template.
  23. The Instagram block is great for pulling images from your personal account. But I'd like a way to aggregate photos from multiple users around a specific hashtag. This is a great way for getting a good sense of an event, in real-time.
  24. Hi all, does anyone know how to get image descriptions to display underneath images in a grid gallery block? I found CSS that allows you to display image titles underneath each image but descriptions have much more flexibility than titles in how you can edit them and I need that flexibility. Here is the CSS and a short video on how to use it for anyone wondering and what it looks like. It works well but it is made to display titles. A simple modification might make it reference descriptions in the gallery block instead of the titles but I am unsure how to specifically do it. Or maybe somet
  25. I'm new to squarespace and don't have any CSS experience (although I have found to where to enter CSS code... if I just have to paste it in, I'm good). I'm struggling to work with the alignment of my images on this page: http://verdantstewardship.com/current-projects/. Two questions about it: 1) How can I make sure that the top two images align properly? (They look fine in the editor, but aren't lined up on the live page.) 2) How can I set the pixel width for each image so that all four on the page are filling the same amount of column space? Explicit answers aimed at a beginner would be g
