  1. Site URL: https://www.mymichiganbeach.com Hi! Am running into a problem when I add internal links on a blog page. After the goes live, I inspect the page on Google Search Console and end up wit and error message reading "... Disallowed attribute or attribute value present in HTML tag." (See the attached screen shot of error message below.) When I remove the link, this error disappears. This means I am unable to link internally to my other pages. Can anyone please help me fix this? Thanks!
  2. Site URL: https://thedailyassist.com Hello everyone! I recently launched my website and submitted a sitemap for GSC to crawl and index my pages. It's been a few days and in the Coverage tab it says that only 4 pages are marked as "valid" and 13 as "excluded". Is there any reason why this would happen? The majority of pages that are marked as "excluded" say "Discovered - currently not indexed" and "Crawled - currently not indexed". I am slightly confused because when I do a site search in Google (site:thedailyassist.com), some of the pages listed as "excluded" are returned as results in my site search, which tells me the pages are indexed. Does the coverage tab take time to update? Or re-crawl? Thanks for any help you can give me!
  3. Site URL: https://www.origine.com.au/ Hi all! We have a website that we created that bypasses the standard product pages and uses a custom wishlist form. We want to know how to hide the products from a google search though. Right now, the product pages that we created are showing up in searches and we need to hide them. Is there a way to simply click a button and disable the ability for google to find a product?
  4. Site URL: https://ottertailkennels.com I have been using the markdown block to add nofollow links to my posts for affiliate links. These seem to be causing AMP errors in Google. Getting Disallowed attribute or attribute value present in HTML tag. Anyone have idea on how to fix? Every single mark down block is affected. Thanks for any advice.
  5. Site URL: https://easy-eiv.de Hi, I am trying to add the sitemap.xml in the Google Search Console. After verifying the site in the DNS-Settings, it shows up under "Properties" in my Google Search Console. However, when trying to add the sitemap.xml I get the following error: Google error: "Please enter a valid path to a sitemap in your site." What am I missing?
  6. Hi all - Google Search console reached out by email to kindly tell me that one of my sites is affected by 39 instances of "Event markup issues". Opening the Events report in webmaster tools, I am confronted with this: If I look at an individual url within Google's structured data testing tool, I see this, telling me location and start date are missing (odd immediate spike in data from mid August...?): Now, I don't know code, but I am surprised to see lots of other posts talking about schema.org and the need to add code for things like this (similar problems occur for blog posts apparently). Given that my events have locations in the "Locations" tab within each event, what exactly am I supposed to do to get the data correctly listed with Google? Surely I shouldn't have to learn some code and add it somewhere? That's a bit 2013... I could be adding locations incorrectly of course, and if there is a special way to add locations I would be grateful if anyone could share how to add them "correctly", else is there anything else I can do to get things correctly listed? Same for start date... What am I missing and how to do I sort it out? Thanks all
  7. Google Search Console is reporting an AMP structured data element error on only two of my blog posts. errror image A value for the image field is required. warning image The image field is recommended. Please provide a value if available. I do have a logo set per the Squarespace knowledge base. There are no images in the blog post and no thumbnail image is set for the blog post, but I don't have it set for any of the blog posts so I'm not sure why it's having an issue with just two of the entire set. See attachment for Google Search Console error report.
  8. Site URL: https://www.shirazanddaryan.com/ The problem is that I want to connect google search console to my Squarespace website. I got the TXT record from google console. Then I added to Squarespace DNS setting. after 4 days, it still doesn't verify. Anyone knows where do I make the mistake?
  9. Site URL: https://www.britannia.smokd.co.uk/ Hey, hoping someone can help out. I've been struggling with indexing issues for site: britannia.smokd.co.uk for a couple of months now. At first google would not index it at all. Squarespace support tried several times to help, by regenerating sitemap etc, but ultimately with no luck. Eventually, going via our google ads account, I managed to chat online with someone at google, who, despite it not relaly being within the bounds of the 'allowed' chat reasons, did take all of the details and say he will look at it. A month or so following this chat, we have now appeared in SERPS, but with pretty poor ranking, and no MetaTitle or Description, despite these both being set, and defined on the page (which I have confirmed viewing source). (shown below) Also, if I search for most keywords that I know are present on the page, they are, apparently not being seen by google e.g. site:britannia.smokd.co.uk bbq (https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Abritannia.smokd.co.uk+bbq&sxsrf=ALeKk01cr13Hfkhbss8cB7g-PEE_2XkB7A%3A1627920350081&ei=3hcIYcXBBMKW8gLauYagAQ&oq=site&gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EAEYADIECCMQJzIECCMQJzIECCMQJzIECAAQQzIHCAAQsQMQQzIECAAQQzIKCC4QxwEQrwEQQzIKCAAQgAQQhwIQFDIECAAQQzIOCC4QgAQQsQMQxwEQowI6CwguEMcBEK8BEJECOgsILhCABBDHARCjAjoLCAAQgAQQsQMQgwE6BAguEEM6EAgAEIAEEIcCELEDEIMBEBQ6CwguEIAEEMcBEK8BOggILhCABBCxA0oECEEYAFD7jwtY35ULYMKfC2gAcAJ4AIAByAOIAc8HkgEHMS4zLjQtMZgBAKABAcABAQ&sclient=gws-wiz) Throughout, I have been attempting to re-index the page in search console with no success - the indexing request is often rejected and then gives no further information as why - and even says the url isn't available on google - which it obviously is (if only poorly) - screenshot also below. I am thinking that there must be something preventing google from seeing the content on the page, but really can't work out what - there arent robot.txt files blocking access, and the content is in theory easily seen - certainly to a user. It is a single page site, which possibly isn't helping, but we really don't need other pages currently. It's built using a standard 'page' rather than a cover in squarespace, which means I've had to set this as a 'non-linked' page - but squarespace have confirmed this is correct and should not be causing these issues. Hoping someone may have had similar (and resolved) as when even google don't seem to have sorted, I'm starting to lose faith! Thanks in advance, Tom
  10. Site URL: https://www.capriolecafe.nl/blog/vijf-terrassen-den-haag-capriole-coffee Hi, I was wondering what the following option means. When I add a blog post and I go to the settings following by share, I noticed it has an option called 'Push to Google Search Console', which is currently listed as 'Disabled'. What does this option mean? Should I enable this option? Thank you!
  11. Site URL: https://edume.com I'm seeing hundreds of errors for structured data across our site. Google is telling me there is an issue with the Structured Data Type: Local business, because it's missing the field “name”, therefore ’Not all markup is eligible for rich results’. I'm pretty sure that the error lies in this section of the HTML: <script type="application/ld+json">{"image":"https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5dd67d2aaec74929770fe3cd/t/5f22d3f925594f27b8e21b8e/1605178318421/","openingHours":"Mo 09:00-17:30, Tu 09:00-17:30, We 09:00-17:30, Th 09:00-17:30, Fr 09:00-17:30, , ","@context":"http://schema.org","@type":"LocalBusiness"}</script> The markup (schema) is only mentioning an image, opening hours, and a type ‘LocalBusiness’, without the “name” of the business field (ie EduMe) therefore Google isn't accepting the code and won’t use it for their Local Business structured data results. I found more information on this here: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/local-business Our business name is filled in within our Marketing > Location Management panel AND Settings > Business Information. Is there a way for Squarespace to fix this code to include our business name? Thanks.
  12. Is anyone getting this error from Google Search Console? Either "offers", "review", or "aggregateRating" should be specified Looking into it I found some workarounds in other CMS but not for Squarespace. Any answers or workarounds? Thanks!
  13. Site URL: https://www.cottoncashmerecathair.com/ I have discovered via search console that Google is indexing my archive pages, categories, and tags over individual blog posts, which means my site is not showing up in search results when it should be. How can I tell Google not to index those pages and instead index the blog posts? I read in other posts here that you can inject code, but how do I inject code for pages that aren't in my navigation? I also know about canonical links but they confuse me; is that something I do in search console? How does one go about setting those? Any insight/tips would be much appreciated!
  14. Site URL: https://www.kalima.io/ Hello, I would like to remove a property of the website on google search console, the proporty has been added by import of html file, i can't find this file anywhere and i can't remove the property someone can help me i m bit stuck with this situation. Thanks in advance
  15. https://www.skp.com.sg/ My website is using a 3rd party filter system which is universal filter. As a result, different category product pages are not indexed as Google Search Console sees it as a (duplicate) Alternate page with proper canonical tag. Please find attached screenshot for Google Search Console error. So for example, Biodegradable products is seen as an alternate page of the main category page https://www.skp.com.sg/food-packaging-all?category=Biodegradable https://www.skp.com.sg/food-packaging-all Solution by Google: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/139066 Can someone explain how do i make Google Search Console to index these (supposedly duplicate/alternate) pages? (I believe this is hurting my SEO keywords ranking) Is this caused by AJAX loading, if so can how can i solve this while enabling AJAX loading? (Can this be solved by adding a dynamic JSON-LD to each category filter?)
  16. I just took a look at google search console and my site search results/ranking, and found out that there are a couple of pages that exist in both http and https. Also Google is only showing performance of my home page in http, even though the original page when you click on it is in https. The whole sitemap is in https btw. So do i need to do something about this? Should i change something? Or is this normal?
  17. Site URL: https://mymichiganbeach.com Hi, I am getting a message of "indexed, not submitted in sitemap" on a few of my pages. One of them is: https://mymichiganbeach.com/holland-mi. I am so confused; these pages have been created exactly like the others in SS which were indexed. I submit /sitemap.xml every time a new page is created. Why are some pages not getting indexed and how do I fix this? This page was created three months ago and the sitemap has been submitted to GSC many times since then. Thank you in advance for any direction.
  18. Site URL: http://www.griffenfitness.com My new website looks amazing, but I've been emailed by Google FIVE times this week with various issues that seem to be a glitch with Squarespace. Here is one of the emails: Search Console has identified that your site is affected by 4 Products issues: Top Warnings Warnings are suggestions for improvement. Some warnings can enhance your appearance on Search; some might become errors in the future. The following warnings were found on your site: Missing field 'image' Missing field 'description' Missing field 'offers' Missing field 'sku' We recommend that you fix these issues when possible to enable the best experience and coverage in Google Search. Help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you :)
  19. Site URL: https://daoethicalgifts.com/search I recently included site search for our website. Apparently, Squarespace sets this type of page to "no index" per default by putting a block in the robots.txt. (Link to description in Squarespace help section) Now, Google Search Console tells me that this is the wrong way to do it: "If you do want to block this page from Google Search, robots.txt is not the correct mechanism to avoid being indexed. To avoid being indexed, remove the robots.txt block and use 'noindex'" I am worried about the Squarespace default settings having a negative impact on our ranking. (How) can I manually change the settings? Or is this nothing to worry about? Any recommendations or experience values are much appreciated!
  20. Site URL: https://www.mymichiganbeach.com HI! First post here. If I don't want a page indexed by google but still want it to appear on my site (ex: user agreement; copyright ), I just toggle the "Hide page from search results", correct? Thanks!
  21. Site URL: http://wearecravingadventure.com/ Hi, In light of the upcoming google update, what is everyone doing to optimize their SS sites, especially blogs? What can be done to make the site faster besides optimizing images? Looking at my web core vitals in SC, I don't have a single url that passes as good! What can I do to change that? Would really appreciate some tips & helpful resources on the topic Thanks!
  22. Site URL: https://www.bushmans.si/vadbe-online Hi! So i am submiting sitemap.xml in search console from google and it gives me an error. What should I do to fix the date. I havechecked my calendar on the website and it seems fine. What should I do? What is actually wrong with date format? 25. Site URL: https://www.dwbehavioralhealth.com Hi all, This site went live about a week ago and I immediately connected it with Google Search Console, submitted the sitemap and requested indexing. Within a few days, all of the site's pages EXCEPT the homepage were showing up in search and show in Google Search Console as successfully submitted and indexed. Only the homepage shows up as excluded and the reason given is "Blocked due to unauthorized request (401)." When I click on the help link within Search Console, it brings me to instructions about verifying GoogleBot that unfortunately are of no help to me as a newbie at this stuff (the first step is to run a reverse DNS lookup on the accessing IP addresses using a host command? What is that?). 😭😞 Does anyone have any Squarespace-specific instructions about how I can try to verify GoogleBot to see if that is indeed the problem here? OR, is this all something that might just be normal in the first few weeks after a site goes live, and I should stop worrying and just hope Google finds everything eventually? As a side note, one thing I noticed while going through Google Search Console is that there are results for both the main homepage, www.dwbehavioralhealth.com, and for www.dwbehavioralhealth.com/home. Could the fact that the homepage has a URL slug be messing with Google somehow? Or does that have nothing to do with anything? For example, www.dwbehavioralhealth.com/home is listed in search console as "Discovered - currently not indexed" while the main URL (no slug) is coming up as blocked with the 401 message above. 🤔 Any help would be so greatly appreciated. Please let me know if more details are needed in order to help. Thanks so much in advance!
