  1. Hi, I'm working with a client who has a wedding / event planning business. They also rent out 'items' for use at events (including magicians, bands, DJs, food stands, etc). Anyone have any experience in managing this kind of business in Squarespace? I'm assuming it will need to be a third-party integration to manage the items (dates, returns, etc), so happy to pointed in the right direction or if anyone has done something similar with SS without external help, I'd love to know. Ideally linked with Scheduling to know when things are booked (or not), etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  2. Site URL: https://www.saintsaviour.org/ In the Events Summary Block on Homepage: www.saintsaviour.org. is the event "Valentine's Day Cards Needed." The thumbnail image lists the date the event "started" as Jan 20. As the text underneath indicates, the event is ongoing until Feb. 13. On the Events page www.saintsaviour.org/events -- the thumbnail image does include the event's end date. I've been asked if I could hide the date in the thumbnail for that one event, or, alternately, have it include the end date. The person running the event worries that people will see Jan. 20th and assume the event is over. People don't read 'the fine print.' From rummaging around the Squarespace forums, I see that this might entail selecting the event ID? Any suggestions? Thanks, by the way, for all the help we receive on this forum. Laura
  3. I'm currently trying and failing to add a hover state to my summary block carousel(7.1). Id really like the title and date to appear on hover over the image. Ive seen it done on other square space sites with CSS, but need some help. Assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  4. In version 7.0, when viewing an Events page, I could enable a "View Event" button for each event via design styles. I can't see how to enable that same button in version 7.1, is it available somehow?
  5. I'm a v7.1 user. Let’s say I have an Events Page, I created a new entry, let’s call it “Day One”, then during the editing, I added a Gallery Block (Grid). Of course I can upload images from my local files, my main confusion here is on the right side of the “Upload Media”, there is an option called “Use Existing Gallery”, the question is where these Existing Galleries are? If I haven’t had one, where can I create one? I doubt this is a BUG, because this option will be always "There are no collections.”, and there is no way to pull from any collections here.   6. Hi everyone I'm looking for a way to import a large number of events into Squarespace. Is this possible? Looking for direct tips or work arounds - will consider anything to save me entering all 700 events manually!! 😆 I am creating a website for a promoter who has a valuable archive of past events (some big names in music) and we would like to create a feature of this archive , so the first job is to import the data into Events page so we can then manipulate the content so folks can interact with the archive in different ways on the website - ie calendar views/summary blocks/audio etc. Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated! I'm happy to format/clean up data into whatever suitable format required for import !! ie csv etc . I have seen that it looks like its possible to import product data - if this was a possible work around? Cheers
  7. Hi, is there any possibility to change the time format displaying at the event page in 7.1 from a.m. / p.m. to a 24-hour European time? Or/and hide a.m. and p.m.? Thanks!

I’m just building a site for a client and they need a tag cloud or similar for their events page which is growing (every event is tagged). I’ve built a rudimentary tag list, but currently it needs to be updated manually which is no longer fit for purpose. As they scale this process should happen automatically. How could a tag cloud on an events page be achieved with custom code? Seems simple on the surface as the functionality already exists on other pages, but you never know how easy it will actually turn out to be! If it is a more complex solution would anyone like to quote on doing it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Kevin

Here is the page I'd like to display my calendar: https://goby-icosahedron-jc2m.squarespace.com/events (password: circle) I'd like to be able to: Change the background color of the boxes (days). Now, it's too subtle that on some screens it's almost impossible to understand the tone difference. Change the event date tag color (now white) Make the font size of the days larger And (probably the most difficult one) put a standard to the hover windows. Now, one event opens an overlay that fills two boxes, while the other one fills four. Looks completely random and doesn't make any sense to me. I have a rental website and I am showing what dates are available / unavailable with colour coordinating (grey - available; dark green - unavailable). I therefore don't want the fly-out box to appear on hover, as it won't contain any information. is there any nifty code to hide the white flyout / pop up box?   11. Site URL: https://www.walkingadelaide.com.au I have a client who sells networking walks - individual, 3 walks, 5 walks, 10 walks and an annual package. They're after the option for someone to INSTANTLY be able to pick the 3 walks they want when selecting the 3 walk package. I can only see this happening through a created order form? The UX journey for myself is confusing. They originally want people to complete a form and purchase within that form (which I wish could happen). Any ideas or concepts? Would rather not use 3rd party apps like Eventbrite - but also I don't think they will want to use Members Area or Scheduling.

I'm using Brine and the event thumbnail is square, I've tried changing that to 16:9 but it hasn't really made an effective difference. What I'd like to do is reduce the size of the square thumbnail and all the text on the event listing on that page but not on other pages on the site. Is there a way to do this with custom css? Thanks
  13. Site URL: https://www.bloomracing.com/racing-calendar-list We have our events in a list format on our site but are having trouble with events not disappearing right away after they have passed. They usually stay up for 24-48 hours after the event has passed. We usually have the events ending around 8:30pm. On the backend it is updating correctly, but clearing the cache doesn't fix the issue.

I am aware that Squarespace doesn't have any options for creating directories but I have been told that I can just create links on a page and a search bar, but I really wanted to make something more sophisticated than this. Perhaps there is a way of creating one through code or any plug in ideas? I know there's community box which is great, but I don't really want to have to pay for extras unless it's a one off payment. I have been unsuccessful so far and am wondering if anyone has any suggestions? For example, I have three categories for events (General Events, Volunteer Events, and Drop-In Programs). I would like each category to have its own background color in the calendar so that users can easily tell which event corresponds to which category. For example, General Events: red. Volunteer Events: yellow. Drop-In Events: black.

Starting last month, the first event on my event page (not the individual sub pages) started showing the full event description rather than the preview. This was a welcome update, as it means users need as many clicks to get to what matters. However, now that I added a new event, both the new event and the previous event are showing full descriptions. I'm assuming in the future as I continue add events this will continue to happen. Is there a way to control for which events the full description is shown on the main events page? I tried using the "featured event" toggle in the event setting, but this doesn't seem to make a difference. All of them seem to have that toggled by deault, but only two of them are showing the full description. However I still have the problem of the title being way too small on this page. I'm not sure what I'm missing and I would appreciate any help anyone has to give. In the picture I have the custom code that is in the site as well as the very tiny title of the event.

But my question: I've created an event-page and two events so far with 4 tags and 2 categories (see screenshot 1) — but when I drop a tagcloud-element on the page it doesn't show any of the tags or categories. There is a field saying (see screenshot 2): “First select one of your pages below: There are no collections available.” (wording may be different, I translated it back from German) But I can see the categories and tags listed in the event options.   24. Hi there! I'd like to set up Google Analytics event tracking on a form submission button and other buttons that are not related to e-commerce. What is the best way to do that with code injection? I've been using Google Tag Manager with my previous site, and I know how to create G.A. event tracking there. Installing GTM was my first option, but Google's documentation says that the second part of the code should go immediately after the <body> opening tag, and the squarespace code injection only gives me the option to add it to the footer (I believe it means just before closing the </body> tag). So I'm not sure it's going to work fine. Has anyone here done it?

Site URL: https://www.scriptanatomy.com/course-calendar On our website, we add all of our courses to our Upcoming Courses page which is our not linked Events page: https://www.scriptanatomy.com/upcoming-courses On our Course Calendar page, we have a summary block which lists all of our upcoming events: https://www.scriptanatomy.com/course-calendar There is just one single courses that is not showing up on the course calendar page. It does show up on the Upcoming Courses page, it's the one titled, "*2021 NEWLY ADDED* Structure Lab (Drama Focus)" on January 9th. However, it doesn't show up on the Course Calendar page. This has never happened before and I can't figure out what the problem is. I tried deleting and adding the event again, removing and adding the tags again, changed the url structure a bit just to see, and even changed the end time by one minute. I tried the last thing, changing the end time, because the only thing I could think of is that the date and time is exactly the same as another event. However, this shouldn't be a problem because there are other events with the exact same date and time that both show up. Any ideas??
