  1. Hello, I've recently opened up a membership community using the Squarespace Member Area feature. After a few months of testing we have come to a massive road block with regards to how membership fees are processed. We have a few beta members and we would like to offer them a few discounted months after purchasing while they test out the site. As well, in the future we would like them to be able to receive discounted months every time they refer a friend to sign up. What we have discovered: 1) Discount coupons can ONLY be applied at the time of initial member area sign up. There is NO WAY to discount any future monthly purchases or offer any type of referral program. 2) If you ever modify the purchase price of your membership area, it only impacts future purchases. There is NO WAY to modify existing members membership fees. Squarespace support suggested work around was ask our members to cancel their subscription, re-sign up at a reduced rate and then ask them to cancel AGAIN and sign up for a 3rd time at a new full rate!!!! I cannot believe that this is their actual solution. How unprofessional would that be for us to ask members to cancel and re-apply not once but twice. Apparently there is a feature on the Commerce side of SS that you can pause monthly subscriptions to products, however this same function is not available to the member area. I then tried to see if this was something I could manage in Stripe when processing their payments, but it wouldn't work. I would have to still CANCEL all my members in SS and then set them up as reoccurring payments in Stripe. This cannot be because as soon as I cancel them in SS they lose access to the membership area. If anyone has ANY recommendation on how I can get around this it would be greatly appreciated. I assume we will need to find a third party processing work around or move to an alternative platform that can manage things like discount coupons for existing members and allow us to have affiliate benefits.

I can not believe we are the only ones who need this feature. Right now there is not a way to set up a manual $0 shipping rate based on a product or product category. And you also can not setup an automatic discount with a product category as the qualifier, the only options are "All Orders" or "Orders Over." Currently our workaround is to create them as service product, but the issue there is customers do not add a shipping address and Shipping Easy does not download the orders to ship them. You have to manually export all the "Service" orders and upload them to shipping system. I am still very surprised this hasn't been addressed before, especially with the increased demand for subscription based products.

I offer free postage over $100, I have that so it is automatically applied 2. I accept a voucher issued by our Government, I currently have it set up as a discount - if the customer spends more than $100 they input the code (Creativekids) and it takes $100 off the total. I then have a section set up in the cart where they input the voucher details so I can redeem it via our Government. I want to use both these discounts together, is this possible please. I am on the Commerce advance plan. Thank you

We have a Promotional Pop-up that appears upon visiting, and I'd like the incentive of a DC to get them to input. The ideal scenario is as follows: Someone visits the site The pop-up shows, and they input their email In their inbox, is a DC for 10% off their next order It's a single-use DC per customer / created automatically for them with a one-use limit Note: We don't send regular emails, only for big projects we are working on (i.e. a Kickstarter that's coming up), but otherwise the list is untouched. If anyone does something similar, please do let me know, but any advice is hugely appreciated 🙂
  6. I've seen there are so many basic ways to offer discounts that are missing... how do you guys deal with that? For example: I want to give a discount to all owners of Product A for product B I want to give all current clients (who created an account) a discount I want to prevent discounts to be applied on items already on sale. I want to send a discount code only to people who have purchased in the past with AND are subscribed to the newsletter (for legal reasons)
  7. Hi all, I'm looking to develop a new e-commerce site for our company and like the look of Squarespace. One thing I can't find the answer to is whether a specific group of customers can be set up with different pricing. So, when they log in, they get to see discounted pricing while other customers see the standard pricing. We deal with a lot of overseas resellers of our products and it's useful for them to be able to buy through the web site. Thanks in advance. Steve

  9. Is it possible to assign a discount to members when they are shopping on a squarespace site which has a public shop as well? A client is looking at automatically assigning discount to products in the existing shop for members...?

Site URL: https://www.zaziplays.com Hi, We have recently expanded our shop section to have more products in it and will be adding more soon. we currently stock each product in two colours and are offering people a small discounted price when they buy a set of two or set of three (of the same product). we have done this buy creating a separate category for single item, set of two and set of three. We have then proceeded to have colour options that correspond to the amount of cups they are buying so if one cup just 2 options (colour A or B). if they buy a set of two they can choose (two of colour A, two of colour B or one of each) we then replicated this with sets of three with all the possible variants. While this works fine for now when we add 2-3 more colours for each product it will become very messy (a lot of colour options in the list to choose from. What I am wanting to know is how can we best simplify the colour choosing process for the customer? In an ideal scenario I would ant something along these lines; Customer can see the colour options displayed next to one another and they can add how many they want of each colour (Via text box, or increase and decrease arrows) and the website calculate the cheapest option for the customer (example 5 cups being a set of three and a set of two) I have thought of taking the colour options off and having a form attached to the buying process to capture the colours but I am unsure if this will link into Trunk which we use for stock management. We currently have the basic commerce plan but would upgrade to another plan if needed. I think I have given all the details I can, feel free to ask for more info if needed. Thanks in advance

I have three products that need to have distinct discount amounts on them, but need to use a singular discount code for all three options. It is a subscription service product, and only one can be purchased at a time. The pricing scheme and discounting is as follows: $9.95 > $1 off with discount code // $14.95 > $2 off with discount code // $19.95 > $3 off with discount code What I would like to have happen is that the client enters its discount code (i.e., "ABC") and that code triggers the appropriate discount depending on the product (or price level) chosen. I'll need to repeat this with different discount codes as well, the code is the tracker for a certain group's performance. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

It's basically a group discount for a training I offer. I can't find a way to set the discount so that it only kicks in if the quantity in the cart hits 4.   17. hey guys! i've set up my entire store and i am soon ready to release it, as a photographer i sell prints in 4 different sizing, i have set prices for all of them and a sale price, once i release my website i'd like to offer a launch sale, is there a way to ''tick'' all of my product on sale without having to manually go to each miage and tick sale on every sizes? this seems ridiculous,, i know the discoutn page is there but i don't want the exact ammount or % for every size, which is why i set sale prices on each sizes, thanks!

  20. Is there a code that can be used to allow this feature to work on after sales to drive more customers to site and mailing list? What I want is when a customer has bought a product from us, they will receive and email saying refer a freind and you and your friend can get a %discount on their next purchase. The link will send them back to our site, where their friend will subscribe. Once that happens both will receive a discount code. is there a code out there to make this work.

Site URL: http://youreperfect.studio When creating a coupon code for a fixed $ amount off, users cannot choose an item less than that amount because it gives an error that a discount can't be greater than the cart amount. Is there a way to enable this? It seems like an obvious thing that if a user of my site has a $10 off promo code they could use it to get a $6 item at $0.
  22. My store will be shipping large items. I want to use free shipping discount codes but only within the US. Free shipping around the world be a disaster. Alternatively I might be able to work around this if I can make free shipping codes NOT COMBINE with any other discounts. Is there a way I can do either of these? Thanks!

I have been trying to find a solution for the functionality that I am after for a quite a while now. I run a shop that sells kites. The customer needs a number of different products and I wish to offer a discount based on a combination of products. I looked at the Advanced plan and saw it offered the Automatic Discount feature. I could figure out from the video whether it would suit my needs but but I decided to upgrade anyway. All I've managed to do is get my site to automatically apply a discount if the cart is over certain dollar amounts. I see you can apply for a certain category but that's not what I'm after. I'm looking for a solution that says, if you add product A + B, get 5% off, if you add product A + B + C, get 10% off. Someone suggested that a 3rd party app might be able to achieve this, but I have no idea where to start. Please can someone suggest how I might achieve this. Thanks is advance!

Ideally allowing them only the bigger discount — for example if the free shipping is a better discount than 10%, then they automatically get the free shipping. Thanks in advance for any pointers!
  25. To encourage membership to have a trial, I would like to offer discounted or free first month. The discounts do not work when fee is set to reoccurring. The only way I can find for a discount to work is for one time fee. Any idea on a workaround or if a fix is being worked on? It's seems to be an intuitive use of a discount and like something a lot of people would want. I thought of doing one time fee with discount and then plan to add a subscription on the backend in Stripe, but that takes the automation out totally and you don't collect the credit card information so it ends up a monthly invoice. Thanks for help!
