  1. Hi all, i have this odd issue where a page on my website looks different if you access it from the Homepage > Page with issue, compared with pasting the 'Page with issue' URL directly into the browser. For example of you visit the homepage ( link text ), then scroll down and click the image for the 'Yes / No Tee' the top of the page looks like this (first image attached). The 3 headline lines are hugely spaced out, and all in the same font size / weight. Where as if you go directly to that page, by pasting the URL into a browser ( link text), it looks like this: (second image attached) . The headlines are now tighter, and the 3rd line is in a smaller weight / size – which is how i want it to look always. Can anyone tell me what i can do to make this happen? I feel like its carrying over CSS (or something) from the homepage which is messing up the subsequent page? Any tips very much appreciated! I'm using the Jones template
  2. Hello Lovely people - I'd like to format my new shop page differently than my existing shop page (change to 1 item per line, change the background color on the entire page to white, header included). Can anyone tell me how I am able to do this without altering other pages? Attached is a screenshot of how it is currently (grey background, 3 rows), and a screenshot of how I want it to be (white background, 1 row). My website is www.ethangi.com for reference. Your help is SO appreciated. Thank you!
  3. Is there a way to link or duplicate a page found in one index into another separate index page? I am trying to create an index page that curates specific subpages that are currently under other indexes on my site into a single index page to highlight them. Is that possible?
  4. Maybe a silly question, but is it possible to add other elements to the landing page using the Tremont template? Like additional text or an image (that isnt the background). Normally there's just that 'edit' button that pops up on hover but Im not seeing it. Thanks in advance
  5. This is my site Its a content site for the science of fitness and nutrition. I also sell products on it.
  6. Here is the site: sofiasilveiraflorek.com What do you think of the design? Is it an attractive website
  7. I'm using the Brine template and just created a blank page. In the design styles I have the footer hidden. In the body of the page I have a map and a bit of text but it's not taking up enough area on the page to fill it and as a result, there is a black space below my white page. It isn't there on any of my other pages, just this one. It's almost like there's a footer there that's just a black space. Any ideas how to get rid of the black bar?
  8. I am a writer and i need a template that allows me to display my bylines. Each byline has an image, and in the design I envision, the template would show the image, and then as you mouse over the image, alt text would appear that is an excerpt from the story. I tried this with the Wexley template but that one only allows a certain number of characters as the alt text. Sometimes the excerpt i want is maybe six or seven sentences. Is there a template that allows text overlay of as much as say 1k characters on images?
  9. Blackstone Website Hoping to get a few reviews and maybe some tips on my website. I'm focused on Business to Business sales and our service is quite technical in nature. I've tried to keep it from being TOO wordy while keeping the important details of what we offer intact. Personally, I'd like a way to frame the 3 summary blocks on the first page so that they stand out and are more easily distinguishable from each other, but I cannot figure out how to accomplish that. I've revised the site numerous times over the last couple of years. If you think a different Template would suit my purpose, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks in advance! I enjoy checking out other sites posted for review and I'll do my best to give constructive feedback where I can.
  10. I want to redesign a site on Squarespace that is already live. This would most likely including changing the theme style and some of the important bits of the site. Is there a "draft mode" on Squarespace that allows me to completely change my site, save it as a progressive draft without publising it and allow me to change it later? It would make working through this re-design so much easier without having to do all these massive changes super quickly and be able to show people the draft (or at least screens) for feedback.
  11. I'm a freelance designer/developer who's still learning some of the ropes. I'm fairly experienced with Wordpress (but still have lots to learn there too!) but am currently working with a client to redesign their Squarespace site. I've learned that unlike with Wordpress or Drupal, there's no support to create a staging site in Squarespace to make major changes without changing (and potentially breaking) the live site. From browsing this forum, I know I'm not the only one who finds that frustrating. Anyway: my client has an existing Squarespace site, and they want a thoroughly redesigned site, also in Squarespace. They'll need a new template, of course, but also some new content (I'm working with them to create some new landing pages), and a completely reorganized navigation structure. Given that, and given Squarespace's limitations for developers, my question is: does it make more sense / is it more of a best practice to: (a) develop the new template design using a different trial site and/or the local development server (which I've played with a little bit), duplicating or creating new individual pages, and then, when it's time to go live, putting a cover page up and doing everything else on the live site while it's down? (like what's described here: https://answers.squarespace.com/questions/67379/how-can-i-redesign-a-clients-site-without-going-live.html) I'm concerned this would put my client's live site down for a while, so I can test everything * with their content * and get their feedback. And it just... feels scary, and kind of insane, compared to how I'd do it in WP, you know? OR, (b) clone all their content, e.g. using the imperfect-but-doable export to WP > export back from WP to SS workaround, developing the redesign on the clone site, and then, when it's time to go live, switching the client's domain to point to the live site? This mostly seems like the safer option, and this is where I'm leaning, but I'm worried I'll end up spending a lot of time spot-checking content, re-uploading blog posts' thumbnail images manually, etc. (And, reader, they have a lot of blog posts.) And it feels like there should be a better way??? OR is there a more sane © that I haven't learned about yet? tl;dr do I need to use clunky import/export workarounds to create a clone site in order to develop a redesign for a client without breaking their live site, or is there a better way? I tried to convince them to move to WP, but it didn't work, so now I'm here. Any guidance appreciated!
  12. Hello, I am using a website that is built on Version 7.0– Brine family (Mentor template) and I would like to change my existing site suing the newest templates (Vandam) offered in Version 7.1. Reference Link here When I go to my site settings and want to change my template, the UI only shows me the Version 7.0 design templates, but not the Version 7.1 templates. What is the best way to apply the newest design and the new platform is much more straight forward and easier to use? Do I need to create a new site from scratch and rebuild the website? If yes, how can I make sure, I can get the existing domain transferred to the newest site, without the SEO, G-Suite account, etc. being affected. In other words, how can I make sure I can transition to Version 7.1 smoothly? Any suggestions and best practices are welcome! Cheers,Chor
  13. Hi guys, We have just launched our first online store and had questions on any potential improvements that could be made. Website: http://varient.co Im also trying to integrate a track-order page - where users would be able to insert their order number and name and then they could track where their product is in the process of making - as all orders are made to order. - Any suggestions how this could be achieved? I was imagining that on the backend we could enter information on the notes and it would create some sort of timeline to where their product in the manufacturing process (Sewn, Printed, Quality-Check etc..) kind of like a mail tracking number. Thanks in advance.
  14. Hello, I have a website and i want to ask how much the expert will gonna help me if i switched my website to this platform? are there really care about me or they don't even care about me. 15. Hey there! I'm rolling out a brand refresh on our Squarespace site before the end of the month. Does anyone have any tips on how best to roll out a large number of site style changes, and some content changes, all in one go? I feel a bit restricted by being unable to save style changes in draft, finesse, then publish. I would prefer a "ta da" reveal, rather than iterative design/style changes being made live over a number of days, which would look messy to any users in that time. Here's what I'll be updating: Fonts (body and heading styles) site wide Colours site wide (buttons, hover/link colours etc) Banner imagery including site logo and favicon Text on at least two key pages Completely redesigned home page Site template, functionality and most text/image content all staying the same. I think I will build a hidden home page, then swap it out to get the "move that bus!" style reveal, but as I'll also be updating global site styles I can't do that for every page. Any ideas for the best way to tackle this, much appreciated!
  16. I'm wondering if anybody knows a way to control the size of images in an Image Block when displayed on mobile devices. To be specific, the images are (on large browsers) small mugshots of members of our team. They're inserted on the page one after another and on mobile devices they are scaled to the width of the screen. I'm hoping to make them a bit smaller than this as on iPads and other tablets they become rather intimidating. Here's the page in question if it's useful: http://www.superhet.net/about/ Thanks
  17. My site uses Rally and I do not see an option in site styles to have all links be a certain color, either static or hover. I want links like categories to have a separate color, not just hyperlinks. Am I missing something or does this need custom CSS? My navigation colors work just fine, this is just for body text and text around events. https://www.dallasdoinggood.com/
  18. Hi Squarespace friends, I use the Bedford template. I need advice on improving the aesthetics of my blog. I would greatly appreciate a few tips. https://www.enokithreads.com/another-blog Suggestions to improve my blog landing page? (Header/ photos? Side bar changes? Colors? CSS, tips and tricks) First thing that comes to mind that could use improvement?
  19. I'm trying to figure out the best way to make a page where people can go to get a song/album and also on that page find lyrics, album credits, associated videos, listen to the song, etc. Would this best be done using a blank page and just adding blocks as needed for the content? If so, how would I create a product page at a top-level that would let people browse like a normal product page? Hopefully that all makes sense! It's a little hard to describe but if you're looking for an example of what I'm trying to make, here's the model I'd like to use from Imogen Heap's website. It doesn't need to have the animations her site contains though. http://www.imogenheap.com/thequiet/
  20. Hi We are asked to create a Squarespace website and the client wants a banner ABOVE the menu, like here: https://www.brugge.be So they want to add a white banner with their logo above the menu. We cannot find a template that offers this so I guess we need to add this with custom code. Any suggestions for the best solution?
  21. Hey guys, I am wondering if squarespace allows me to change different section background color for each project. It seems like it only allows me to use the light theme color form the palette as the background color for all pages. Is this something that I need to code? If anyone knows how to change it, please let me know!! Thank you!
  22. Hey! I'm using the Jasper template and would like to replace my site logo with pure HTML/CSS. I'm a designer and don't really code but I was able to figure enough out to convert my logo into a vector format and animate the HTML using CSS. If possible I'd only like the CSS animation to render on the home page and use the static final state on all other pages.Any help would be appreciated.
  23. Im having difficulty changing the colour theme of my mobile menu. (https://trovy.io/) Its currently set to have a white background - but i'd prefer it to have a dark theme so my logo shows up. I cant find it anywhere in style settings. If someone could help that would be great. Thanks
  24. How do I repeat common textual and design elements across pages? E.g. a common footer such as a bio/author information on a regular content page and not a blog page? It'd be nice to have one source to change rather than changing the bio across multiple pages whenever my career evolves.
  25. I am updating my Squarespace portfolio. I would really like to understand how this site is structured. https://jasper-demo.squarespace.com/ When we are looking at the homepage "work" section. I love the functionality and would like to apply something similar to my site https://danikaseadesign.com/retail-branding I've moved from a "grid" to a "summary" but am still not happy. I would really like it to function exactly like the Jasper one but not sure what changes I need to make. Hoping that you can help me. Thanks so much.
