  2. Site URL: https://www.huesofcomfort.com/ hello - i just created this site recently, felt the need to show my work and blog about random stuff. all feedback is welcomed 🙂
  3. Hi all, I am a web designer and I'm redesigning this website https://www.stephendurbinandassociates.com/. What you guys think about the current design. What all changes should be done to make it more user-friendly? Any suggestions would be appreciated. It will help me a lot. Thanks in advance!
  4. Site URL: https://lettuce-magnolia-plfw.squarespace.com I've tried reducing all padding in Site Styles to 0 for absolutely everything, CSS for padding to 0, and still nothing will remove the white gap at the bottom
  5. How do I repeat common textual and design elements across pages? E.g. a common footer such as a bio/author information on a regular content page and not a blog page? It'd be nice to have one source to change rather than changing the bio across multiple pages whenever my career evolves.
  6. What's the best template for a creative looking to showcase film work, GIFs, photos? Ideally, the home page would have big images/GIFs (or perhaps words) to entice people in, then it links through to more detail on the project.
  7. Hello 🙂 After a loooong time, I think i have finished my site design but would love any feedback that you guys may have. Thanks for checking my site out 🙂 https://bluetrainertravels.me/
  8. I'm a freelance designer/developer who's still learning some of the ropes. I'm fairly experienced with Wordpress (but still have lots to learn there too!) but am currently working with a client to redesign their Squarespace site. I've learned that unlike with Wordpress or Drupal, there's no support to create a staging site in Squarespace to make major changes without changing (and potentially breaking) the live site. From browsing this forum, I know I'm not the only one who finds that frustrating. Anyway: my client has an existing Squarespace site, and they want a thoroughly redesigned site, also in Squarespace. They'll need a new template, of course, but also some new content (I'm working with them to create some new landing pages), and a completely reorganized navigation structure. Given that, and given Squarespace's limitations for developers, my question is: does it make more sense / is it more of a best practice to: (a) develop the new template design using a different trial site and/or the local development server (which I've played with a little bit), duplicating or creating new individual pages, and then, when it's time to go live, putting a cover page up and doing everything else on the live site while it's down? (like what's described here: https://answers.squarespace.com/questions/67379/how-can-i-redesign-a-clients-site-without-going-live.html) I'm concerned this would put my client's live site down for a while, so I can test everything * with their content * and get their feedback. And it just... feels scary, and kind of insane, compared to how I'd do it in WP, you know? OR, (b) clone all their content, e.g. using the imperfect-but-doable export to WP > export back from WP to SS workaround, developing the redesign on the clone site, and then, when it's time to go live, switching the client's domain to point to the live site? This mostly seems like the safer option, and this is where I'm leaning, but I'm worried I'll end up spending a lot of time spot-checking content, re-uploading blog posts' thumbnail images manually, etc. (And, reader, they have a lot of blog posts.) And it feels like there should be a better way??? OR is there a more sane © that I haven't learned about yet? tl;dr do I need to use clunky import/export workarounds to create a clone site in order to develop a redesign for a client without breaking their live site, or is there a better way? I tried to convince them to move to WP, but it didn't work, so now I'm here. Any guidance appreciated!
  9. Site URL: https://www.erinnicole.art Give some feedback on my photography website!
  10. Site URL: https://www.weacceptcryptocurrency.com/ I've been speaking with users of my site recently to see how I can improve it, and nearly all of them say that they didn't even recognize the mobile menu icon as a menu. SquareSpace uses a hamburger icon with two lines rather than three, and people don't seem to recognize this as a menu. Would it be possible to replace the mobile hamburger menu with just the word "Menu"? I believe this would reduce bounce rate on my site significantly and improve user experience.
  11. Site URL: https://jimgoldberg.fr/ Hi, Everytime I click on any clickable element of my website a thin dotted line surrounding the object appears. (image attached) Would anyone know how to remove it using css codes ? Thanks in advance for you help 🙂 WEBSITE PASSWORD : Segura70
  12. Our site is in free trial mode still so there is no live URL, but we want to assign the default color scheme to the page footer for one of our pages, rather than the color scheme assigned to the other pages. How can we have a different color theme for the footer of one page compared to the others?
  13. Site URL: http://www.plural.tv Hi there, We're trying to align the Primary Navigation (the only button is 'Contact') to the baseline of the Logo. Can this be done with some simple CSS? Our current site password is: 9lura75it3 Thanks so much for taking a look.
  14. On the new 7.1 design settings I go into Fonts and only see about 20 different fonts separated into 3 categories. Where are the 600+ Google fonts I see advertised on Squarespace guides? My client wants to use the font Georgia and all help guides tell me that it should be there when I scroll down (I'm guessing they are all outdated guides now). Can someone please help me find more fonts?
  15. Is anyone else having issues with spacing? I recall on previous versions of Squarespace that you could easily change the spacing/padding/margin between elements in the page editor. Now there are no controls for this in the new interface, sections have their own padding that cannot be changed, and overall missing features throughout the designer these days. I've attached a simple markup example of this limitation. Note to Management: In general I've noticed Squarespace taking away more and more of the customizations that once made it the perfect balance between something too simple (Shopify) and something too complex for the average Joe (Wordpress). Squarespace is getting more and more like choppy with almost no customizations and design limitations at every turn. And to top it all off, the monthly price keeps getting higher while offering less and less.
  16. Hi everyone, I've designed my site in 7.1 (taking over for 7.0 designed site) marcwilson.co.uk When someone adds a product to their cart it is really not at all visually obvious what to do next, i.e. to click on cart to go to it and then checkout. The cart shows merely as a simple graphic in the header. In 7.0 sites you could design so a very obvious pop up cart button appeared when you added a product. It would appear right on page in front of viewer and was very obvious that you were meant to click it. See attached screenshot. I've asked SP and there is no way to do this at the moment in 7.1 design. Does anyone know any code to do something similar maybe? Thank you so much.
  17. Looking to make this code-block full width, can anybody help? noplasticproject.com/liverpool
  18. I'm here out of desperation as I've wasted hours messing about with overcomplicated gallery options. I simply want my images within a gallery page to have a horizontal scroll, not vertical. (Not a carousel slideshow, where one image at a time is visible and responsive features are used). I haven't been able to find a way of searching SS templates by the availability of a horizontal scroll for image content. Templates like 'Ishimoto' offer no adjustment to image padding. A good example would be the 'Horizon' themes by Format - basic code, uncomplicated clean look. A perfect example on a functioning website would be: https://www.the7thmember.xyz/ I feel like I'm missing something that should be really easy to find, but Gallery Blocks and Gallery Pages are both lacking a basic 'I want it going sideways' option. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Big thanks.
  19. Hi guys! I have a confession... I might be slightly addicted to altering (sometimes completely changing) my website 😳 Nonetheless I am stating to actually finalise the beast 👹 Please give it a wee look at www.digitalhøy.com or www.digitalhoy.no 🤖 Seriously I would love any feedback 🤖 From your fellow Squarespace geek, 🇳🇴Bonnie 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

  22. Site URL: https://wandpdesign.com/ Hi! I've been trying different methods to no avail on how to get a translucent nav bar that blends into the background when you open my site, and when you scroll down it turns into a smaller white bar up top. Attached link for example. I'm using the Clay template in the Brine Family. Thank you in advance!
  23. Site URL: https://buffalo-porcupine-x37d.squarespace.com/ I'm hoping someone may know the CSS code to lower the height of the nav bar in the Artesia template?
  24. Hi all, I have a website using the Bergen layout (www.cloudberryfilms.com). That layout has a fixed logo height of 150 px and I would like to increase it. You can see the logo in the centre of the home page. Apparently in 7.1 you can use elements from other layouts in your design but this is outside my skill set! Squarespace support suggest I ask in the forums. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
  25. I'm experimenting with banner opacity. I'm also interested in providing some shadowing under images and other text boxes. Thoughts? www.thehouseofdavid.org
