  1. What's the best way to add a text description for each product category, to be displayed when the user navigates to that category? For example: On /shop/large-widgets I want it to say: "Large Widgets: These widgets measure 48 inches and are perfect for outdoor use." But on /shop/small-widgets I want: "Small Widgets: These widgets measure 24 inches and are recommended for indoor use." So far I haven't found a great way to edit individual category pages in this way. What's the best practice?
  2. Site URL: https://orb-hibiscus-bfjf.squarespace.com/ Dear Squarespace friends, I'm looking to tweak the font size and formatting of a gallery description on the homepage. My client would love eg the first bit in capitals to be separated by a line break. Is this just a simple case of adding <Br> at the back end? Also, I've been told the font size relates to paragraph 2. Is there any way of altering the font size here without altering the other paragraph 2 fonts throughout the site? Thank you for your assistance, Best AC
  3. Hello, I am trying to add a short description to my blog posts on my blog page however there is no "read more" option. The entire text for all my blog posts shows up on my blog page. The template I am using for my blog posts page is "Blog 1" and it displays the read more option but whenever I enter my full text I don't see an area to insert a preview or caption to the specific Blog Post. The image attached is from the template im using showing "read more" that I wish to have in my posts.
  4. Site URL: http://www.scopephotonics.com TLDR: Want to enlarge description font under gallery images on desktop. So I'm trying to display 8 photos with descriptions underneath them. Ideally it'd be a 2x4 grid on desktop, 1x8 grid on mobile. Can't seem to get this working, so now trying Strip style and committing to 1x8 regardless. On mobile this looks great, but on desktop the text is incredibly small font compared to the giant images. I've tried messing around with settings, and even pasting in code to the Custom CSS box in Home>Design>Custom CSS, but the latter doesn't even do anything to the website. Any fixes, whether with css code (along with help on how to actually get custom css code working) or just settings/styles, would be amazing!! PS: Very new to squarespace, apologize if this is a simple fix
  5. Site URL: https://tangerine-kumquat-nw9z.squarespace.com/ Hello! I was wondering if it's possible for the meta description text in the slideshow gallery block to appear as a slide number (ie. slide number / total number of slides in gallery). I can write this in manually, but if I reorder the images in the gallery I have to re-number my slides. Any thoughts? Thanks!
  6. Hi, Currently creating a site, I would like to be able to write the description of my images over 2 different lines. 1st line : Name of the photo 2nd line : Number of the photo as I use a Summary with Slideshow simple. I sent a request to SquareSpace, they suggest using custom code to slipt up the text over several lines. I don't find the right code. Thanks for your help.
  7. Hi all, Hope someone can help. In 7.1 is there a way to change the text that appears under the various sections created when you add a form block? For example, as shown on the attached screen grab, when I add "address" to a form it creates the text entry boxes Address 1, Address 2, City, Zip/Postal Code, State/Province, Country I want to be able to change those values, so for my UK website I can remove "zip" and change "State/Province" to "County". Is there a way to do this? Code this? Thanks

  9. I am very new to all this and cant seem to find a way to center the descriptions of the images in the gallery. It appears I need to add some CSS coding. 11. Site URL: https://eveslaughterart.com/ Hi, I hope someone can help me. My website displays my artwork. On my homepage, I use a gallery block to showcase each piece. Each image opens into a lightbox. On desktop, all you have to do is hover and you can see the description. Which is fine. However, when viewed on a mobile device, in order to see the lightbox description, the viewer has to click on a small unlabeled DOT in the lower right to view the image description. You barely see the dot, and it isn't clear that a viewer needs to click on it. Is there a way to have the image description BELOW the image without the hover/overlap? Or, instead of a "DOT", could this be replaced with "More Info"? I've already reached out to Squarespace Helpdesk, and there isn't a solution. I feel like this is an easy fix with the proper CSS. Is there anyone that may have a solution? Thank you so much!!!

  14. Site URL: https://www.l-twellness.com/products-1 the desktop version shows up fine with the product title and description appearing when you hover over the image. 21. Site URL: https://stingray-cylinder-zztm.squarespace.com/ Hey, We use the Brine template, which doesn't allow us to show the title or description of videos from a gallery. This is an example of a page showing videos with a certain tag, and as you can see it only displays the thumbnail: https://stingray-cylinder-zztm.squarespace.com/videos?tag=Sayed%20Sadiq%20Shirazi Pass: temp123 Is there a way using code to make titles under the thumbnails show? 22. Site URL: https://www.karenmainenti.com/recent-work In the Momentum template, I like having my initial view be in a gallery grid, so all images can be seen together. But then, when you click into an image, how to custom CSS so that the description shows immediately? Many visitors don't find it intuitive click on the "i" info icon, so I'd like it to expand right away so they don't need to click to see the image description. The only existing alternative I see is to use the initial gallery Info View and then they would have to click the "four squares" icon to see the gallery which also doesn't seem intuitive... thank you!
  23. I've been trying to display the title and description of these images in a gallery grid on hover. I've been searching the forums and found some helpful code, but nothing that's exactly what I'm looking for. This is the code I am currently using (see below). It is displaying only the title on hover. I need it to display the title and description on hover. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd also love the opacity to cover the entire image (right now it covers almost all but just the sliver of the top isn't covered). Let me know if anyone has any suggestions. Thank you! .sqs-gallery-block-grid .slide .margin-wrapper .image-slide-title { display: block; position: absolute; top: 0; right: 0; bottom: 0; left: 0; padding-top: 5em; -webkit-transition: all 300ms ease-out; -moz-transition: all 300ms ease-out; -o-transition: all 300ms ease-out; -ms-transition: all 300ms ease-out; transition: all 300ms ease-out; } .sqs-gallery-block-grid .slide .margin-wrapper:hover .image-slide-title { background: rgba(240,240,240,0.8); } .sqs-gallery-block-grid .slide .margin-wrapper .image-slide-title { font-family: sans-serif, futura pt ; font-size: 14px; font-style: bold; text-transform: uppercase; letter-spacing:4px; color: #fff; opacity: 0; } .sqs-gallery-block-grid .slide .margin-wrapper:hover .image-slide-title { font-family: sans-serif, futura pt; font-size: 14px; font-style: bold; text-transform: uppercase; letter-spacing:4px; color: #000; opacity: 1; }
