  1. Hey there, just started using the Related Products functionality on my shop, but noticed that products from other product pages with the exact same categories do not show up in the randomized selection. I know each page has it's own tags and categories--is there ANY way to get products from other pages to show up? I have a clothing business and each product page has a type of item: ie "tops" "dresses" "shoes" and I would like to be able to recommend products between those pages to create more dynamic browsing, so for example, I would like to recommend shoes to go with pants and a top despite the fact that they are on different pages. Is this possible or do I need to use blocks or just dump everything into one page and create a filtering system using categories (vs separating them out into pages?) thx
  2. Hello! I recently installed the update Squarespace released regarding easier use of categories. The jewelry on my site is separated using categories (e.g. necklaces, bracelets, earrings). After the update, the SEO titles (what appears in the tab) for these pages became "/earrings -- Auvaire". How do I replace the "/earrings" with just "Earrings"? Thank you! Here's what the tab looks like now:

  6. Okay, So here is a very complicated issue and square space needs to look into this seriously. If there is a solution that i am not aware of, I would be very happy and glad. If anyone has the solution to this or any workaround, Please help me as this is driving me nuts. For sales store Navigation is very important. so i created this by creating category. which looks fine as i have few of them. like in Pic 1 It looks good as long as you are just browsing and as long as you are on the same page. you can click on any category and can easily navigate around. However, as soon as you get into any of the category, the option disappears like this The issue is if i want to go back to another product in the same category or a different category i have to go back to SHOP and then click on the desired category or the next product. I want if there is an option to put the category here. So i dont have to go back to shop and then click on daily again. This way i can easily go to daily category. Please let me know if there is any way to do it or if there is anything wrong i am doing here. Please correct me. Any help would be appreciated. Like square space has this. I just saw.
  7. Site URL: https://www.paulcoghlin.com/behind-the-eyes-limited-edition-animal-prints Hello Does anyone know how to remove the word 'category' that appears on the drop down category menu on a mobile device please? It doesn't appear on the website when viewed on a desktop PC (instead it displays the actual category, which is what I want). When viewed on a mobile device, I want the actual category to show (in this case for example, I want Behind The Eyes to show, rather than the word 'category': https://www.paulcoghlin.com/behind-the-eyes-limited-edition-animal-prints Hope this makes sense! Thank you.
  8. Hi all, Short Description I'd like to suggest the addition of the ability to exclude blog posts by category when creating a gallery of posts. Verbose Description A site I'm developing for a client employs several separate blog instances. One blog instance is for managing which employees are displayed on team pages. We can quickly add/remove team members simply by adding/changing/removing a category from their bio. We can slice and dice employees using categories like title or division. It's really quite handy. Another blog I'm using on that same site is for managing the display of projects executed by this client, with separate pages created for each project type. Galleries work really great and allows automatic updating of category pages – adding a new project to a gallery is as simple as making a new post and then applying the correct category to it. I can even reorder items by changing their publication date and time - it's a hack, but it works! But I think I found a missing feature... We already have the ability to constrain posts by specifying which categories we want to feature. However, we do not have the ability to exclude post types by category. Programmatically speaking, this isn't difficult. Anyway, thanks for reading. This has been my first post to this community. I have been increasingly pleased with my ability to customize the Squarespace platform to achieve design behavior above and beyond the standard templates. I fully expect for this request to exclude posts by category to go nowhere, but as they say: nothing ventured, nothing gained. At least I tried!
  9. For the Category Names listed on the top of the Shop page, the starting Letter/Alphabet is automatically capitalised. Therefore a category called iPhone is displayed as IPhone. Can someone help with simple CSS to stop this unnecessary capitalisation? We would like to have the category iPhone displayed as iPhone and not IPhone!! I wrote to Squarespace customer service, and they as usual empathised with the problem but had no answer. UPDATE - Aug 14. This issue seems to have been resolved with the latest Squarespace Commerce update (categories features update)
  10. Site URL: http://katrichart.com/fineart Hello, I'm trying to keep the categories on my shop page expanded for mobile view. I'd like to hide the dropdown menu "Categories" but have the actual category options visible. I've attached a photo with an example of what I'd like to see on the mobile view. I tried using this CSS but it hides the entire thing, not just the "Categories" dropdown menu. @media screen and (max-width:640px) { label.ProductList-filter-dropdownToggle-label { display: none; } }
  11. I am a total novice using squarespace, so please forgive what could be a really stupid question. I've created my first post and pulished it, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to add categories or tags. Nothing in the 'how-to' videos match what I see. I'm assuming this is because the videos relate to version 7.0 and I'm using 7.1. Am using the 'Paloma' Template. When I click on the + symbol to add a new post ,I dont have a box that has the tags and categories items at the bottom. It adds a draft post to the list (screen shot 1) and then opens as an editable page (screen shot 2). I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, or how to get around this. Any help is highly appreciated.

  17. Site URL: http://www.fatmacys.org Hi there, I am having issues with 3 things on my site. The secondary navigation line height is too tight, can this be opened out? Site URL: https://cod-aqua-4bdk.squarespace.com/ URL: https://cod-aqua-4bdk.squarespace.com/ Password: anoha Template: Alameda How do I change my categories from a horizontal display to a vertical display? Apparently, I am unable to switch templates because I am using version 7.1. But it says that "All templates on version 7.1 are part of the same template family" So maybe there is a way to customize this? Attached photo: 1 is what I currently have, 2 is what I would like. Thank you!
  19. Site URL: https://rosalindbrookman.com/blog I'd like to apply different colours to my links in blog post summaries depending on what category the post is in. So for example if a post has the category of 'Business' then the blog post title and read more link would be green on the summary, if the category is 'Writing' then it's red etc. Many thanks for any help you can offer.

  24. Im in the early stages of putting together this site and I noticed some annoying inconsistencies. The different pages show different separating options between categories: The current blogpage - showing delimiters between categories as "," while its possible to choose "dash"/"bullet" etc. as delimiter between metadata. e.g. "category 1, category 2 • Date 09.04 • author" The "comma" here^ is appearing by auto. The actual blogpost, with the same options for delimiters display the category separators like this: "category 1 • category 2" How can I remove the "comma" from the blogpage and add in a "bullet"?
  25. Site URL: https://www.devourcatering.com/devour-store/fantastic-fathers-day I'm looking to have related products filter more specifically. I would like a product to have two categories: The event (father's day) and (Addon) so the related products underneath would be Bother fathers day related AND addon related. the store I'm building has events that have specific addons that we don't want available to other products. BUT there are general addons the should appear globally (booze for example would show up as an addon under both father's Day AND a picnic product.. right now it grabs related product that have the same first category or tag.. Solutions get my eternal respect.
