We've been up and running with Squarespace for about six months now. We're a pet retailer with three physical shops in the UK and now an online shop. Overall, Squarespace has been a top class experience, however we've noticed a few missing functions we really need: 1 - The ability to select a Fulfilment Profile when creating a product on the mobile app Our staff post products using the mobile app because they can take photos on their phones of the animals in-store and do it there and then. They don't have access to a laptop and the desktop version. Annoyingly, the mobile app doesn't currently let them choose a Fulfilment Profile, which means I or someone else has to separately set the Fulfilment Profile for each product/animal afterwards on a laptop. Which makes a one-person task a two-person task for each animal posted. 2 - The ability to select store categories when creating a product on the mobile app for Android Our staff with Android phones can't set store categories when they publish products. It only appears to be available on the iOS app. Which again means I or someone else on a laptop or with iOS has to set the categories for each product after a staff member has published it. 3 - The ability to set a separate SEO page title for store category pages Our animal category pages are named for visitors when they're on the site and browsing e.g. Geckos, Leopard Geckos, Crested Geckos. However, we know that we could appear in better positions on search engines and attract more valuable clickthroughs if we had separate SEO titles like Geckos For Sale, Leopard Geckos For Sale. But currently we can only set one category name for both. 4 - The ability to use Clearpay with local pickup orders My guess is Clearpay needs a customer address in order to accept an application, so for local pickup orders the customer doesn't provide an address therefore Clearpay isn't available to them. Our products are live animals, so many customers will pick up in store. However, many of our customers want to use Clearpay. Couldn't Squarespace or Clearpay ask for an address for local pickup orders if the customer chooses Clearpay at checkout, explaining that it's necessary for the Clearpay application? That way, anyone who doesn't choose Clearpay doesn't enter an address, while anyone who chooses it does - having seen a notice explaining why it's now required. We've contacted Squarespace multiple times and requested these fundamental features, but when or whether they get implemented, who knows! Just wondering if anyone else needs these functions as much as we do? Or if anyone's found workarounds? Cheers!

Hello I have divided my shop into product categories. I sell furniture and now have seating, tables and storage furniture in my shop. Unfortunately, I can't find a way to customise the text for the category pages. There is a description text for the entire shop, but it is the same as for seating furniture, tables ... etc. From a Seo point of view, I would like to create an individual description on the website and as a meta description for the category pages. I think it is also an important and indispensable function. Do you have a trick on how I can do this? Many Thanks in advance. Nina

I was able to create different categories on our order page but when I click a category and it takes me to that specific page it reads "ALL/" on the top. I cant seem to find the spot to edit that little bit of text and would like to change it to the name of that category or at least get rid of the / . any ideas of what to do? Site URL is attached and should work but I'm not sure if the categories are posted yet. Attached below are screenshots of what I'm talking about! Any help would be very appreciated!

Hi, I've created a shop page with categories but everytime I go onto the category it opens a new page and I'd just like it to drop down into the seperate categories instead of having this multiple step process any help would be much appreciated Oli

Is there a way so that when you add a new product it goes into the new products category and then after 30 days or whatever it automatically leaves or does it have to be manually edited at the moment?

Hi all, I'm trying to customise how each of the categories in my shop display. If you head to the shop (https://raccoon-fennel-6mb9.squarespace.com/shop, password gcm), you'll see the section that I've added titled 'Glacier'. This is what I want to achieve, however I need it to be different for each category. I know I can achieve a similar thing by creating new pages and adding summary blocks, however this isn't how I want to do it because I don't like the style of the summary blocks. I want it to look exactly as it currently does, just customised for each category. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Hi guys, Sorry if this has been asked and answered but I’m having issues adding categories for my store to the main navigation. There’s a button that says “add to main navigation” but nothing happens when I click it. I’ve seen people provide codes but I have no clue how that works. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Password: hello I'm having a super inconsistent category menu. I want it to always be in the same spot with the same style on mobile and desktop while in categories and products. Right now the style changes, it disappears on products and in mobile it disappears when you enter a category. I've tried googling and using different code snippets but they all seem to fix one aspect and break another. Would be amazing if there's a code that can just make the category menu stick in place no matter where you are on the shop, mobile and desktop included. This would also be a great fix for Squarespace in the future, it seems there's many people who want this. Thanks so much!

Hello. I am desperatelly trying to find out how to add categories. As you can see in the first printscreens from the tutorial - it is possible to add categories in the link editor. The second printscreen from my own website is completely missing this option. Could it have to do with the template I am working with? - Version 7.0– Avenue family (Avenue template) Thank you so much for help!

Website: www.pmwcarbon.com 1- As mentioned, the homepage when viewing the actual website(not on squarespace) does not show products unless i manually select the All category. however when using the squarespace editing website they seem to show with no issue. This happened randomly because it used to work at some point. 2- The "you might also like" section also stopped showing products at the same time the main store started having issues. 3- I made a category named "featured", is there a way to have the homepage be that specific category?

Trying to create multiple search categories for a church site for the volunteer teams. Similar to the image below. I can onlky figure out how to add category and tags but i need more. I am trying in an easy way to create an author index with previously made tags and categories. I want it to look like this other website's author index: https://www.alicejamesbooks.org/search-authors Squarespace doesn't allow tags/categories to work outside of blogs. I have attached (below) an example of tags and categories that I made for each issue but it doesn't really work like I want it to. Here is the third party search engine I created instead which works great but my client doesn't like it. Hi all, As our business grow, we have more products. currently our home page is displaying all products visible. However, we only want the home page to show a subset or a particular category of products. I'm redoing the website for a wine importing company and need to create a page for each winery they work with, for an online portfolio. I need to categorize the wineries by region (and sub-region, ideally) and would love to add tags eventually, but as far as I can tell there's no way to do that in Squarespace. I realize that Blogs (events, etc.) has tags/categories feature but that doesn't work for other reasons (among them, the inability to add sections since they don't use Fluid Engine). Does anyone have any ideas about how do this? Are there any plug-ins, custom css, etc. that can help? Other ideas? Thanks in advance!

I am trying to find a way to categorize portfolio items. I realize that I can do this with blogs, events, etc. but those pages don't allow me to do other things I need to do, and therefore I need to be using Portfolio. Does anyone have any thoughts? Is there custom code that can help here? Ultimately, I need to categorize items by regions, but would love the opportunity to make these searchable, categorize by subregions, utilize tags (though that seems like a long shot). Any thoughts appreciated!

I have products set up into different categories. Some of those categories are seasonal so I turn on/off their visibility throughout the year. The products in the categories that are disabled still show up in the All section. Is this an intended behavior? I thought that by disabling the category I could hide the products in those categories without manually editing every single item in that category but they still show up in All section. Is there an option that I'm missing?
