  1. Site URL: https://www.frankkukla.com/blog Does anyone who reads this know how to make the date of a blog post appear above the photo with the title and read more link appearing directly under the photo? Thanks for taking the time to reply.
  2. Site URL: https://www.likeneonlove.com/ Is there any code I can use that will change the date format of my blog posts? At the moment, my latest post reads "Apr 15", but I'd like it displayed as "15 April". I managed to change the format of my summary block using the below script, but I can't seem to get it working for my actual blog page. I'm using the Skye template. It's honestly infuriating that Squarespace STILL doesn't cater to its international customers. Having flexibility in changing date formats, US-based or not, should be a given for any website service! <script> // Changes the format of date on summary items var myObj = document.getElementsByClassName('summary-metadata-item--date'); var options = { year: 'numeric', month: 'long', day: 'numeric' }; for (var i = 0; i < myObj.length; ++i) { var item = myObj[i]; var date = new Date(item.innerHTML); item.innerHTML = date.toLocaleDateString('en-GB', options); } </script>
  3. Site URL: https://fiddle-calliope-dcmk.squarespace.com Hey everyone - I'm working on my website that typically uses a white logo and white text over an image background. However, when I go to make a blog post, it switches to black text for the header over a white background, which makes the logo invisible. What I'm looking to do is either: Invert my logo (or use a different image for it) on blog posts ONLY, not the blog landing page Allow for blog posts ONLY, not the blog landing page, to use a header with a background image or solid colored background with white text. https://fiddle-calliope-dcmk.squarespace.com/insights Password is ThemeParks12345 I really want to avoid doing this with code injection because I would need to upgrade my plan. EDIT: I was successfully able to get it to work with the following custom CSS, but unfortunately it also inverts the logo on my blog's landing page: I'd still like to know how to get the blog post headers to have a background image like the other pages of my site, or a solid color on the blog posts only. I'm on 7.1. Thanks!
  4. Can anyone help me? I'm trying to import blog posts from Wordpress 4.3.26 into Squarespace. I've tried both basic and advanced. Basic says success but pages are not in the not linked area (have refreshed and logged in and out several times). Advanced says 'file appears to be incomplete'. Can anyone help? THANK YOU!!!!
  5. Site URL: https://www.yellowbikepress.com/ Hello! Here is the site I am working on and the page I am referencing: https://www.yellowbikepress.com/blog. I used code to change the font of the blog post title and "Read More" button in the summary section, as well as the "Sign Up" button in the Subscribe section on the right. In Chrome the fonts show up fine, however in Safari they don't appear. Here is the correct formatting: And here is how it appears in Safari: Any thoughts on how to fix this? Thanks!
  6. Hi everyone, I am using "Nolan" template. I have a major issue trying to add a "collection" in the form of a "blog", as I would like to add a "summary" to my home page, linked to that blog. However, when I create posts in the blog, and hit the button "edit", to add tags, excerpts, etc, it goes straight into the page and doesn't allow me to add any tag or excerpts. (I saw many tutorials showing how to add excerpts, but they all have a pop-up window with more options/functions, which I don't have) As a result, my "summary" doesn't display the text I want, nor gives me the ability to display any tags. I am stuck and can't find any help online on this. Anyone is able to assist? Thanks a lot, very much looking forward to sorting this out. O.
  7. Site URL: https://shaunwalker-photography.co.uk Hi, my blog posts suddenly don't display correctly on mobile view. The top portion the posts, with the title, and first few images just don't display, you can't scroll up, and basically it's a mess. They're fine in normal web view. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to correct this? Thanks
  8. Is there a way I can adjust the placement of the pagination buttons on a blog post for mobile viewing? I would like the previous and next buttons to be at the same height.
  9. Site URL: http://www.electricalaudio.com/recorders I made a page on our site that I wanted a few image gallery blocks on, so I created it as a Blog page. We're running 7.1, so this is one of only a few ways to have a gallery block on a page. I'd like to have this be on the main navigation, but since it is a blog, the blog page gets a slug and the post gets a slug that's inside the blog's (eg the blog slug is /recorders, and the blog post is /recorders/recorders). I figured out how to have a navigation item that links to the blog post, but ideally I'd have the blog in the nav, and have the preview look exactly like the post, so that the navigation is as simple as possible (ie. I can point someone to electricalaudio.com/recorders, rather than electricalaudio.com/recorders/recorders). The problem with putting the blog itself in the navigation is that when I put the preview to "full post" and "single column" layout, it changes the formatting. The line breaks don't actually separate lines, there is no padding on sides, etc. I thought if I re-wrote this in html, creating markdown blocks with <p> and </p> or <br> tags it would solve this, but it didn't. The blog page is electricalaudio.com/recorders The blog post I'd like to link to, or have the blog preview mimic is at electricalaudio.com/recorders/recorders Thanks in advance.
  10. Site URL: https://cyan-teal-3zmw.squarespace.com/blog I'm working on making my basic grid blog switch from 3 columns to 2 columns at medium screen widths so the columns aren't absurdly narrow. I've applied the CSS that's been shared frequently in this forum, but the weirdest thing is happening β€” it totally breaks the layout, but ONLY on the main blog landing page. It works just fine if you navigate to a filtered view by category or tag, (e.g. https://cyan-teal-3zmw.squarespace.com/blog/category/In+The+News). Any help would be hugely appreciated! Here's the CSS I'm using for the column switch: @media screen and (min-width:768px) and (max-width: 1024px) { .blog-basic-grid { display: grid !important; grid-template-columns: repeat(2,minmax(0,1fr)) !important; grid-column-gap: 40px !important; } } Site password: governance
  11. Site URL: https://inlofna.org/inlna-biographies Hi! I'm looking for advice on the best way to build a biography section on my website. Currently I've set up 24 biographies (https://inlofna.org/inlna-biographies) as blog posts and then used a "Summary" section on a page to display them nicer than just a "Blog" section with the dates and stuff. To have them show up alphabetically, I've changed the publishing dates to specify the order but as it grows, I'm worried it's going to get less pretty. I also see the "Summary" section only lets you show 30 posts so I feel like this might not work. Any ideas on a better way to build a biography section that would be easy to update, alphabetical, and not have many limits? I'm thinking instead of making a blog section work, I might instead just do this more manually with a new page for each biography and then a manual main Biographies page to update each time. Any advice would be helpful! Thanks!
  12. Hi all, is there a way to make the blog main page (not individual posts) more narrow? 7.1 fixed templates are too wide for my liking and as a result the images are too big.... but unlike the other pages there's no customisation option for sizing. Thanks!
  13. Site URL: https://www.studioaem.com.au/blog I've added custom CSS to adjust the blog list page (overriding .BlogList-item-image (line 160) and .BlogList-item-title classes (line 165)). The CSS works fine when I open the page in the back-end, but the styling does not flow through to the live site. I can clearly see my styles overriding correctly, and I even added !important just to be sure. But they are still not present on the live site. Also tested injecting code at the page level with the same result. See screenshot of backend and live site; Screen Shot 2021-05-13 at 9.00.24 pm.png Screen Shot 2021-05-13 at 9.00.34 pm.png Custom CSS I've added: //BLOG STYLES //Blog List Page .BlogList-item-image { background-color: #b1b1b9 !important; margin-bottom:0px !important; } .BlogList-item-title { background-color: #b1b1b9 !important; padding-top: 20px !important; padding-bottom: 20px !important; margin-bottom: 25px !important; padding-left: 20px !important; padding-right: 20px !important; color: #ffffff !important; font-style: italic !important; font-family: 'baskerville-display-pt' !important; } .Blog-meta { color: #b1b1b9 !important; } Seems the CSS is present in the page using view source but not being pulled to the page. Very confused...
  14. Site URL: http://www.jlartlife.com/australia-/2019/12/21/sappho-x-glebe-local I've switched to Wells template recently, and there's a "Wells Blog" column that I could't remove. This isn't my blog content but it stuck here. Please help me. Thank you!
  15. Site URL: https://www.manorbarnorganics.com/ I found this thread for hiding product thumbnails which was super useful, I'm wondering if the same can be done for blog posts too? The code I used for hiding products was the below, is there a variation I can use for blog posts? For context this is exclusive news (with the product links) which is being shared early with a newsletter list which I then will make public the following day, so would rather this be a blog post than a separate web page. Thanks in advance πŸ™‚
  16. Site URL: https://www.wonderlass.com/blog/episode82 Hey there! 😊 Does anyone know of a way to add CODE to the BRINE template in order to add a sidebar to the blog posts? After lots of research, the only workaround that I found was creating a separate "blog" in the "not linked" section, putting the sidebar info + images in that blog and then adding it as a summary > wall block to each individual blog post. While this looks great on the desktop version, (for example: https://www.wonderlass.com/blog/episode82) it looks horrible on the mobile version since the sidebar shows up right smack dab in the middle of the blog pots. 😬 If anyone knows how to add a sidebar to BRINE, OR how to hide a block on the mobile version of a site only, that would be AMAZING!
  17. Hello! I hope someone can help me, please ☺️. I'm building my blog in 7.1 version and everything was going on fine until: * the social media links on the bottom of the site disappeared, the links are still there, but for some reason they are invisible? I have tried the google chrome extensions thing, erased the custom css for color that I want to used but still invisible, then re pasted the code and nothing, it seems that nothing works. *The share pin it button is not showing and I enabled it (I don't know if it will show when I publish the site, it's still private / under construction and yet to buy the main domain haha) *Also the comment section suddendly disappeared even though I also enabled...
  18. I'd like to remove the post title section from the blog post page, because I want my title to be displayed on the image. Thanks!

  20. Site URL: https://www.cowardspace.com/opheads Hello! So I run a website for a podcast, there's about ten episodes and each one requires its own 'episode page' (for research notes and so on) which I have been adding as I go. After fiddling around trying to find a way to format the main 'podcast page' so that the episodes are easy to navigate, it occurred to me that it would have been a much more simple move to add each 'episode page' to a Blog format, as the navigation options are a lot more easy to work with. I could create them all again from scratch, but I'm thinking their must be an easy way to either 'drag' or 'copy' the entirety of my 'normal web page' directly into the blog format to create 10 seperate 'blog pages' Is this an easy thing to achieve? Just curious Thanks :)
  21. Are there any settings for changing the look of quotes within a blog in Squarespace 7.1? I'd really like to have quotes displayed as a block quote (where there's a vertical line to the left of the quoted text). Is this doable? Thank you!
  22. Site URL: http://www.faune.co Hello! I was wondering if there is a way to change the content width of a single blog page? I want this one page to be full width while the rest of the blog pages are restricted to a content width of 55%. Any code I tried seem to not overwrite the overall content width settings of the blog. I am using squarespace 7.1 Thank you so much
  23. Site URL: https://corn-apricot-zn88.squarespace.com/portfoliodetails/8yypiklex23co21rpmxwqtxrbmliw4 I have tried all the examples here. I have code to make the text overlay appear on hover, BUT the background of the box is white, I would like it to be about .7 opacity. No matter what I try, it won't change. I feel like I am missing something simple. This is what I have: Issues: whole overlay (text and background) are .5 opacity. I'd like the text to be .1. Also, the colors are the opposite if what we want - we want white lettering on translucent black bkgd. When I tried to just change them using the 7.1 color change, the background NEVER goes to #000000. Thoughts? .design-layout-poster .image-card-wrapper { visibility: hidden; opacity:0; } .design-layout-poster:hover .image-card-wrapper { visibility: visible; opacity: .5; }
  24. I'm using Brine. I want my blog summary block to display posts oldest to newest. How might you do that? Thanks.
