  1. Site URL: https://www.forthrightadvising.com/blog/push-and-pull-communications Hey there, I know that in a Summary block, when "Excerpt" is unchecked, the "Read More" button won't show up even when toggled on, but I've been trying to alter that with CSS. I've got Summary Blocks (carousel design) at the bottom of every blog for this client and we don't want to excerpt but we DO want a "Read More" option to show up below each: I'm still in my CSS learning curve, so naturally, the CSS I've been playing around with hasn't worked so far. I've been attempting different iterations of this: I've got Summary Blocks at the bottom of every blog for this client, so a site-wide/summary-block-wide code (that works better than my rudimentary attempt) would be lovely. Side notes: I DO have CSS for the arrows on the Summary Block (carousel design) that I can provide if need be, though none of it isolates the "Read More" links, just the ".sqs-gallery-controls." It's also a 7.0 site in the Brine family, if that info is needed. Happy to provide whatever else might be helpful too! Thanks all πŸ™‚
  2. Dear Community, I am exploring options to enable in-line comments in a squarespace-based blog. Ideally, a user would mark the text section they are interested in commenting on and be able to comment directly on that section. The comment would then display on the side or just as a small note that someone commented on this section and be displayed on click. Does anyone have experience with such an implementation/knows a tool that allows this? Website is on 7.1
  3. Site URL: https://dalmatian-ladybug-6fza.squarespace.com Hello community! Password: Annie Page: Fabrics (blog page) I am wondering if anybody has ever found away to create an image rollover effect on a blog thumbnail? I am wanting the image to alternate between two different photos of that particular fabric. Just like it does in a product section, but I need to create my items as blog as they're not for sale online. Thanks in advance for any help! Kirstie
  4. Site URL: https://eco-muse.com/blog/guide-to-organic-wine-producers-in-the-uk Hi there, I'm using Version 7.0– Montauk family (Kent template) I have looked at other posts for different templates and tried to remove dates and tags on all my blog posts so they are not visible to my site visitors. I think I need custom code to do this. Can anyone give me some advice on this or has anyone worked out how to do it already for this template? Thanks so much! Natalie :-)
  5. Hello! I'm building an online zine which has 4 main categories. Currently wondering what the best way to structure it might be. I would like for each category to have its own landing page so I thought about making each category its own blog. The issue, however, is that if each category has its own blog then I can't mix content from each one (i.e. a summary block located in the home with the latest articles [regardless of category]). The other alternative was to have ONE blog and create regular pages for each category using summary blocks. The issue here is that they are limited to 30 items, so once there are more than 30 the page will become sort of useless. Is there any way around these issues or do I have to choose between the lesser evil? Thank you!
  6. Site URL: https://www.rachelfernandes.art/blog Hi there! πŸ™‚ I'm using Squarespace 7.1. and want to change my blog layout from list to grid. However, the Edit option isn't showing for me and I can't edit the full page, only posts. Is there a way to change this? Thanks in advance!
  7. Is it possible to add photos to a blog post? More specifically, to the Bergen template? I click on Blog, but the only option it provides me is text. Does anyone know of a blog template that allows you to add photos in there and that the main background of the template is white?
  8. Hi I'm testing my blog posts and the image is showing before the blog title which I don't like. How can I move the title of the blog post to the top and above the image? Thanks Belinda
  9. Site URL: https://www.cleanplate.co.nz/home Hi There, What I would like to achieve is something like the following images - adding a background colour to the UI card, and adjusting the padding so that the text sits inside the card on the Blog Carousel and the Blog Landing Page, but I am not sure how to achieve it as I can't see the classes to target. Any suggestions welcome. a) Blog Carousel on the home page https://www.cleanplate.co.nz/home b) Blog Landing Page https://www.cleanplate.co.nz/blog
  10. Site URL: https://www.spawellness.com/spa-wellness Hi, I have included a testimonials section on this page (see KIND WORDS). To do this, it was setup using the blog tool as a workaround. I am happy how it views as 3 column on desktop/tablet .... but I would like it to view as 1 column on a mobile. Currently it displays as 2 column on mobile which I dont like. Can anyone help with code? Thanks
  11. Site URL: https://www.riverstonechurch.net/ Hi, I want to be able to change the color of the logo to match the color of the menu on my blog. When you first land on the blog page where the blog posts are aggregated, I want it to be white (which it is)...but when you click on an individual blog post, I need to it change dark. I have tried the following code: .collection-type-blog .Header-inner img { filter: invert(); } Which does change the color...but on the front page and on the individual posts. Is there a way to change it on the individual posts without the front page? https://www.riverstonechurch.net/blog
  12. Hello! I'm in SS 7.1 and am trying to change the "READ MORE" text under the blog excerpt. I've already tried entering the following into the footer: Y.all('.inline-read-more').setHTML('Listen Here'); and the following in Custom css: .BlogList-item-readmore:before { content: β€˜Listen Here’; } But neither are working- they worked in 7.0 πŸ˜• Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks πŸ™‚
  13. How do you customize the 'Read More' link on blog posts with a custom font in 7.1? I also want it to say 'read the post' instead of 'Read More.'
  14. I'm designing a website for a newspaper that is published monthly and I'd like the blog post dates to display just the month and year, not the individual day. I'm not sure where to get started custom code to get this done. Has anyone had success customising this in 7.1?
  15. Site URL: http://almostallison.com Hi! I was wondering if anyone could help me figure something out. I'm currently using the Five template for my blog. As it stands now, the blog excerpts are laid out with an image on the left and then the text. (I attached a screenshot for reference) I was wondering if there's any way to change this so it shows a larger thumbnail/preview image with text underneath it? Unless I'm missing something, I don't think this template offers a way to do it without adding css, which I'm fine with, just not sure the correct stylization. TIA!
  16. Hi there, I've been thinking recently of a way to display the few thousand images I've taken this year on my photography portfolio. I've decided to go with a blog format with a post for each day. This is all well but I feel like photos from January will be buried under posts from all other months etc... My idea around this was to have a stickied post with a link to send you to a random days set of images. I'd appreciate if any ideas on how to do this easiest spring to mind. All my Squarespace experience is doing basic posts and galleries with the built in stuff so I'm not sure if there's a plugin to do something like this. Worst case scenario would be if I had to enter the link to each new post into a list for a randomiser to pick from which I could do if I was able to code it in C#. Any pointers very much appreciated, thanks in advance!
  17. Heya! I am trying to find a way to remove the author/date for a team members page that I have used the blog format for, however I would like to keep the author/date on our main blog/journal. Is there a way to specifically target a certain blog with some CSS? Been doing some digging to try find a solution however have not been successful. Any help would be appreciated!
  18. Site URL: https://manatee-turkey-t8nt.squarespace.com/ I'm sure this has been covered in the forum before but I'd like to find a way to have my feature images on blog posts be full bleed. I'm using the blog pages to host my design portfolio where each post is a different project. How can i make the Blog page appear more like the Portfolio page in the image attached? Thanks for the help! -- https://manatee-turkey-t8nt.squarespace.com/ P: test123
  19. We have a section on our site that we are building that is like a "Places to Fish" section. Similar to the Where to Fish section of https://fillmore-demo.squarespace.com/ We thought about using a Blog and each blog post would be one of the Places to Fish. The problem would be that the most recent post would at the top of the list when viewing the Places to Fish page. We thought about copying the Where to Fish section of Fillmore template, but then again, its alphabetical order. We would like them to either arrange randomly when the page is viewed, or maybe even adding a Rating, where people could rank each place and the most popular place would be near the top of the page. We are still in our Trial phase, trying to iron this out. Since its a core piece our site design/plan we are trying to figure out if we can do it, or if we need to go Wordpress or some other more custom solution.
  20. Site URL: https://lexiramos.com/comic Hello, I'm not sure if this is even possible but is there a way to change the layout/order of the buttons with how they appear on mobile? I want them to mirror how they look on the desktop version or at least have "first page" and "latest page" on the same row along with "Next page" "Previous page" on the bottom. I've been trying to make the blog page look more like the webcomic format. Mobile view: Desktop View: And bonus question, is there a way to create navigation that is similar to the image below, with a buttons linking to the first "blog" page, another linking to the latest and then having "previous" and "next" arrows all lined up in a row? Everything I have right now is just from me lurking on the forums and trying to piece together something that mimics a webcomic layout. I have no background/knowledge of css so I have no idea if this type of navigation works in squarespace.
  21. Site URL: https://sellwoodmoreland.com/businesses Hi! I am trying to find a way to show the read more link on specific blog posts. It will be for a business directory that will only link to the full profile (blog post) if they are a paid member. I've used CSS to turn off the image and title from linking to the blog post. Should I create links in the excerpt and use code to style them as buttons? If so, any help on what the code should look like? Or can I use the Source URL to link the blog post for those who should show a read more link and then create code to target that? Currently, the Read More button is showing for each post. Here is the webpage and password: https://sellwoodmoreland.com/businesses SMBA2021
  22. Site URL: https://www.thebusinessofefficiency.com I'm testing out my site as an end user now. I commented on a post but cannot for the life of me figure out how to make my avatar an actual picture. I feel like I'm missing something big as it shouldn't be this hard. Any suggestions?
  23. Site URL: https://www.adriannexo.com/journal/tag/Travel I've been trying to figure out a way to add a title or intro onto the blog "tag pages" meaning when a viewer clicks on a tag such as "Drinks", the top of the page will say something like "Drinks". I thought it used to automatically have an intro that said "Posts in ___". Is there a way to add that back in? This is one of the tag pages I have. Not sure if CSS or a markdown block is the answer here but I'm hoping someone can help! -- https://www.adriannexo.com/journal/tag/Travel
  24. Site URL: https://www.venueretreat.com/blog/luxurious-wedding-event-venue-malaga-spain Hello everyone, I have added code to my blog posts so the thumbnail can appear as a banner on the blog post as for some reason on this template you cannot add banners for your blog posts which in my opinion looks very unprofessional. Not only that, my logo has white in the it meaning when a client clicks on a blog post you cannot see my logo, again this looks terrible. Example So after finding some code to rectify this situation I realized the banner only shows when you refresh the page, not when you first visit the page. Can anyone please help me with this matter, maybe I need to use different code. Thank you very much in advance.
  25. Site URL: https://www.agencymvp.com/mvp-university-main We want to add a text field below each MVP University section that explains what that section is. For example, when one of our users clicks 'Agent Kickoff' and we filter through only the agent kickoff videos, we also want a text field above all the videos that says "Our Agent Kickoff section is all about how to get your MVP account set up...". The challenge in setting this up is that when we click 'Agent Kickoff' in MVPU, we're actually staying on the same page (same URL) and just filtering out certain categories/tags. That means that any new text field we put on that page doesn't change accordingly with the filtering that takes place when you select a certain category like 'Agent Kickoff. Is there a way to solve for this? I've included a screenshot on where the text would go. Site URL: https://www.agencymvp.com/mvp-university-main
