  1. I apologize if this questions is redundant. In the past I used to just Google the questions and answers but it seems like Squarespace changed everything. I am using the Bedford template. I want to reduce the white space between the navigation menu and the main content. How do I do that. https://bird-giraffe-7dpx.squarespace.com/ Temporary Password: stanx650
  2. Can anyone please give me CSS code to either: a) remove the banner from all blog posts in the Bedford template, or; b) remove the blog title overlay from the banner and give the ability to use a different image for the banner on individual blog posts, not automatically use the blog thumbnail As you can see, the blog thumbnail just doesn't work for my blog posts. Thank you in advance for your assistance! Sincerely and warm regards, Melissa Dor Membership Director - Rotary Elizabeth Quay
  3. Hello, Firstly, thank you to the various contributors and the community on this forum for the numerous times I've found solutions whilst customising my squarespace website. I'm using the Bedford template, and have created a slideshow banner on the home page. As standard the images and overlaying headings fade in and out. I wanted the text to remain static. I fixed this issue with the below custom css, which works fine when viewing the site on a desktop. However this doesn't fix it when viewing on a mobile device, and the text transitions in and out with the image. Can anyone help
  4. Hi, I am using the Bedford Template and I wanted to set the padding between the banner and the site content to 20px. I want to lower the blank white space between "Snow Special" and the end of the picture. Link to my webstite: https://www.singhlimoutah.com/ Thank you!
  5. Good afternoon, I have been attempting to increase the logo image size for the mobile view. I have tried several different methods found in the forums, such as the one included below: @media only screen and (max-width: 640px) { #logo { height: 100% !important; max-height: 100% !important; width: auto; max-width: 100% !important; } } The website is: ubcontractor.com I am using the Bedford Template. Would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you so much.
  6. Hi all, I've had some help with this code before, but I've added a code widget with the below code. This displays ok (not great but ok) with Chrome, but with Safari the Drop down lists for the dates Check in and check out don't display. Sometimes widget hasn't shown at all. Does anyone have any insight as to why? <div id="search-widget_IO312PWQ"><script>!function(e,t,a,n,c,r){function s(t){e.console.log("[Guesty Embedded Widget]:",t)}var i,d,l,o,y,m,g,h,p,u;n&&(i=n,d=t.getElementsByTagName("head")[0],(l=t.createElement("link")).rel="stylesheet",l.type="text/css
  7. I'm using Bedford template and have a folder with two nested pages. I'd like the folder title (in the main nav) to be non-clickable. I've seen this in other templates. Has anyone figured out how to do this in Bedford? (in the images attached, I'd like to make Specializations non-clickable.)
  8. Is there anyway to hide index subpages from the built-in search so only the main index page appears? We use a Bedford template, so going to the direct subpage is just that section in a folder that gives you no access to the main index page. Really not ideal.
  9. Hi there I want to reduce the padding on the top of the pages on the template - so either between the banner and the page, or if there is no banner between the page and the header. Is anyone able to help me with some custom CSS code? Many thanks in advance for any help you can give Lizzie x
  10. Hope someone can help! Re-building my website in the Bryant template from the Bedford family and I'm struggling with a large gap between the bottom of the site header/horizontal nav bar and the first bit of content which sits below it (its fine on the homepage, but all other pages there's a large gap - see attached pics). Can someone advise if there's a way to reduce this gap? Thanks!
  11. Hello I'm using the Bedford template and have a one page website with section anchor links up top in the navigation menu. These links work perfectly fine on desktop and iPad. On the iPhone though, the links are hidden in a hamburger menu button and after opening up the menu cannot be clicked. Can anyone help me figure out how to make these links work on mobile? Thank you!
  12. Hi! I was wondering if there ir any way I can alter the Bedford template so that it automatically displays author names and bios at the end of blog posts, similarly to how the Tudor template, for instance, does. And if there is, how complex is it? I am very new to coding. Thank you!
  13. Hi, so on my website I have 4 buttons under the main menu and page banner. All the buttons are set to Large, however the text inside each buttons varies a lot meaning none of them are the same height. Is there a way to add some filler space to the less text-heavy buttons to make them as tall as the bigger buttons? I've searched under the Button Editor and under the Site Styles but I can't find anyway to adjust this without code. Any help would be appreciated. Here's my website, the buttons in question are below the "I WANT TO": https://www.jklawfirm.net/ Thank you very much.
  14. I have successfully removed the banner image from blog posts in the Bedford template. However, I can't figure out how to change the colour of the links in the top navigation along with the drop down menu background and the border around the Contact link. Help please? I've put the banner image back on for now while I try to work it out. My site is: www.cheerupmarketing.com
  15. Hi all, I'd like to freeze or 'fix' my navigation bar in the Bryant template. Does anyone have any experience with this template and this task? I have tried about a dozen different CSS options in the Bryant Custom CSS box and to no avail. The site remains in trial mode (not yet live). This shouldn't matter, correct? Seems like a novice question, but as I've tried so many different codes out there and none are working I'm exploring all angles. Thanks so very much for any step-by-step directions. I'm sure this question has been answered many times but I'm not finding it!
  16. I am Remaking an old site that was made in Drupal, I need to make it as similar as possible. Right now when I have two columns side by side they are too close. I tried adding a third column with nothing but a spacer in-between, but it that is too MUCH space in-between each column. Does someone know a way to shrink the width of a spacer block to be smaller than It is normally able? If not that does someone know a way to add a margin, or padding to an entire column? I can't seem to find a block ID for an entire column. @tuanphan this seems like something you would know how to handle. https:/
  17. Greetings community, So, the HYDE template works well for me, for what I am doing, but my secondary point of the site I am building is a blog. And Hyde isn't the most friendly for Blogs. I've gotten creative. I do like the idea of simplicity, and no standard side-bar. But curious what options I may have, custom coding, or small additions I can make to improve the layout. Should I add an about me, and photo, horizontal somewhere? Better yet, if you're using Hyde and have a blog I would love to see it. Thanks for the help in advance. Here is my site: https://www.enokithreads.com/anot
  18. I'm looking to change the style of an anchor link ID. I want this text (which is a header) to match the style of text on the home page. This is my website template address: https://ocelot-porcupine-8nmr.squarespace.com
  19. I got half the problem down, at first I just wanted to make my header have a max width of 1600px; I inserted this code into custom CSS #header { -webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; -moz-osx-font-smoothing: grayscale; max-width: 1600px; background: #fff; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; } This is pretty great, It makes my header only stretch out so far with width. However It presented me with quite a peculiar problem that I do not think happens normally, I think it is an issue from squarespace, it shifts the header to the left most edge, even though margin: auto. Upon pla
  20. I have been having quite a hard time trying to add a link above my blog title that takes you back to the blog list page. Sort of like a "back to posts" link so that it's easy for the reader to go back and forth from the list to each individual post. Upon seeing that I could not put blocks above the title I tried putting this link on the sidebar and putting the sidebar on the left with this custom CSS: #rightSidebar { float: left; width: 202px; } I thought maybe I had finally come to a solution, but then when taking another look at the blog post list, I saw that the sidebar is still
  21. Right now I am trying to recreate an old blog. However I am running into a lot of design problems. First of all it seems like on blog pages you cannot add blocks like you can on normal pages... you can only add posts, Before all the posts i wanted there to be a main paragraph... Not only that, I am not finding any way to edit the style of the posts on the blog list page. For example, I wanted the title to be first, the date to be underneath. Instead of "Read More ->" as text, i wanted it to be a button. There has got to be a way to do something as simple as this?! If i want these little st
  22. Right now when I go to my blog page and hover where the page normally says edit it says "Manage posts", "Add posts", "banner", and "settings"... What I am looking to do is add a simple title and button above all of these titles that is not part of one of the posts. It should be possible to do this I think, any ideas? Thanks in advance, and thanks for reading.
  23. I have added the images I want to my banner, but I have found that they automatically zoom in, making it so that the full image is not available, is there a way to undo this or adjust the scale to show the full image? Here is a thread I found with a similar problem in a different template. Still no answer though.
  24. Is there a simple way to make the banner text shrink in size when the screen shrinks instead of wrapping, and dropping a line? I am using the Bedford Template.
  25. Very simple idea, and it should be easy to implement... Or so I thought, upon further investigation I cannot find anyone anywhere with this same problem. I am attaching an image of what I am trying to reproduce, anyone with a knowledge of CSS can see that it is not a normal way of styling things... Yet it is normally possible, something like this should be possible in Squarespace right? Please; even an idea could help me out. This has really got me stuck. Thanks in advance.
