  1. Site URL: https://dachshund-dory-ba76.squarespace.com I'm building a site which uses three different blogs for various purposes. We use the sidebar in two of those but not on the third. What custom CSS can I use to hide the sidebar on the individual posts for a single blog. An example post is here: https://dachshund-dory-ba76.squarespace.com/offerings-details/leading-purposeful-conversations Password for the website is 'kyoto2019'
  2. Site URL: https://davidbrewsterwriter.com/blog I have a two level question relating to Bedford template: I want to change the 'read more' text on blog excerpts. I tried using the following custom CSS (as per other answers relating to other templates) but no luck. Bedford has a 'data-read-more' tag that I don't seem to be able to target. a.entry-more-link span { visibility: hidden; font-size: 0; } a.entry-more-link span:before { content: "Listen"; visibility: visible; font-size: 13px; } a.entry-more-link span:after { visibility: visible; } If I have more than one blog on my site, is there a way to target a change like this to a specific blog? Is it the same as targeting other pages using the relevant collection id? Thanks, David
  3. Site URL: https://www.stick8.ca/ Hello, the text on my banner runs all the way to the centre of the image. I would like it to extend from the left to one third of the image, leaving the centre of the image clean. I am using this code to align the text left: .desc-wrapper { margin: 0 !important; text-align: left!important; } What can I do to customize the size of the banner text block so that it sits within the frame? (the frame is there only to show where I want the text to sit) Thanks so much.
  4. Site URL: https://www.edenhurst.com/home-1 Hi, I have been using this snippet to make my Bedford banners full window height, and initially it worked like a dream... https://forum.squarespace.com/topic/22506-bedford-changing-the-banner-height/ ...except when I swapped the homepage banner for a slideshow carousel – the images are now cropped, compared to the other site pages. Does anyone know how to fix this please?
  5. Site URL: https://mattie-courtright.squarespace.com/kennedy-school Hi There, I'm working on a site with banner images that have embedded text. This proposes an issue when viewed on mobile devices, as it crops the banner image. It would be ideal if I could hide site-wide the banner images when viewed on a mobile device. Specifically I'm trying to hide the banners on mobile for a group of pages within a folder, but am fine with hiding them site-wide if that is easier to implement. // Additionally I might need to know how to code the hamburger menu to become black so it is still viewable on the white background pages. Template: Bedford Site: https://mattie-courtright.squarespace.com/kennedy-school Goal: Hide banner images on mobile view, site-wide * Example of current mobile view of cropped page banner attached
  6. Site URL: http://itstheverse.com Currently using bedford right now on my site. When a title is too long, my banner will place a "..." and shorten the title. Is there any easy CSS i can use so that my main blog banner shows the full post title? See screenshot for an example.
  7. Site URL: http://whitleyadkins.com/blog I'd like to utilize more space for the blog content since I'm not using the sidebars. I'm having trouble coding this to only affect the desktop view, so that the mobile views of the blog remain the same as they currently look.
  8. Site URL: https://www.camphebron.org/ Hello -- I have client that has a banner image on their home page that they do not want re-sized when going between desktop and mobile. https://www.camphebron.org/ Thanks for assistance!
  9. Site URL: https://halibut-pelican-gm25.squarespace.com Hoping to be able to increase the height of images in carousel-gallery when in mobile view. Using Bedford, gallery appears in pre-footer on all pages.
  10. Site URL: https://www.onlinekarma.ch/ It would be great if you could enable Ajax Loading (asynchronous JavaScript and XML) aka. Lazy Loading for the Bedford Template. Are there plans to implement this? It would help for page-speed and thus SEO. Thank you.
  11. Site URL: https://www.katieparker.com.au/ I am trying to change the banner font used to a custom font (which I have successfully loaded to CSS)
  12. Site URL: https://blog.lifestart.net We're updating our template to Bedford but we have one big issue we want to resolve before going live. On the blog posts, we use images with text as our thumbnail image so we want to remove the title across the banner but keep the thumbnail image across the banner. What code can I inject and where?
  13. Site URL: https://www.johnsongillies.co.uk/ Hi there, I am currently running the Bedford template with an injected code to keep the header fixed. The code is as follows: header { position: fixed !important; width: 100% !important; } Unfortunately regardless of this code being used or not, I am having issues with mobile view, specifically mobile view when using the navigation menu from the homepage. The menu will pop out when clicked and will show the tail end of this script: .transparent-header.view-list .banner-thumbnail-wrapper, .transparent-header.collection-type-page .banner-thumbnail-wrapper{ padding: 180px 0 155px; } This only occurs on the homepage and the site works perfectly fine elsewhere. I have tried removing any CSS code as well as changing the template to a different one and back to Bedford, however this has made no effect. If someone could take a look for me that would be hugely appreciated! Kind regards, George
  14. In the Bedford template, Featured blog posts will be displayed as banner images on the Blog List page. Is it possible for these "slides" to automatically transition? As far as I can tell, there is no style preference for this.
  15. Site URL: http://www.keekboudoir.com I cannot figure out how to get my navigation to show on my website, it just shows the drop menu icon and wont change to the words across the top. I'd like to have the words stay across the top and get rid of the side bar menu. Can anyone help me?!?! @tuanphan
  16. Hello, I'm building a site using Bedford. I set the site header to transparent. And I removed the header image on blog pages as I didn't like the design. I used this code for that: /* don't show thumbnail as banner image behind blog post title (hard to read) */ .collection-type-blog .banner-thumbnail-wrapper {display: none !important;} .collection-type-blog .entry-title {display: block !important;} But now I can't see the site header or navigation on a blog post page b/c it's white and the background is transparent. Is there any way to set the background color for the site header for blog posts only (including all future posts)? Or to change the color of the logo and navigation for blog posts only? Thanks!
  17. Site URL: https://www.innovativeink.ca/ I'm using the Bedford template and would like to use a typewriter effect on the text for my banner. I'd like to do something just like the website provided. Any tips? Thanks!
  18. Site URL: https://trinityupperville.org/ I am trying to figure out how to display a Summary Block with the FULL post - instead of just the excerpt. I am trying to create a landing page that features the most recent post from a blog in its entirety. Is there some code for this? I am on the Bedford template. TIA
  19. Site URL: http://www.laruephotography.net/blogposts/category/Personal Could anyone help me figure out how to change the way my 'posts' page is organized/displayed to the public? I hate the way it looks and want to be able to have it more as a grid rather than how it is right now. I'm not looking to make new page, rather fix the existing one. I thought it wasn't an issue until I clicked on my posts categories and it takes me to this page. Please and thank you so much!
  20. Is there a way to randomize the order of products on the Classic Products Page? I am setting up categories but would like the main page to display the products randomly, rather than the order I’m adding products.
  21. Site URL: http://jupiter.coffee There’s a back to top button that shows up in my footer on a phone (using an iPhone 11 and 11 Pro to test), but it doesn’t show up in the editor if I’m previewing the mobile version. I’d like to remove this button.
  22. Site URL: https://seadragon-pear-6ndb.squarespace.com/ https://seadragon-pear-6ndb.squarespace.com/ password: op1 I would like the light green block to span the full width of the page and be only about as tall as the red box indicated in the screenshot. I also want to make sure there isn't excess white space below the box when I remove that bottom portion of the green box. So far, here is the CSS I've tried. #yui_3_17_2_1_1582047611039_56 { padding: 20px 0px 0px 0px !important; background: #f1f5e6; } TIA for any help!
  23. Site URL: https://www.mentalhealthinstitute.org.au/resources Hi there, I'm using the Anya template in the Bedford family. I was wondering if anyone knows how to adjust the width of a blog post so that the page content appears to be the same width as other normal pages? The blog post (10/10 image example) doesn't take up the full width of the content, whereas other pages do (Short Courses, for example). i would also find it helpful, to know what css to use to hide the "older post" link displayed at the bottom of posts, and css to hide the date and author metadata at the top of a post. I've got it set to transparent for now, but that also hides the tag information, which I would like to have visible. Would greatly appreciate any help. Bonnie
  24. Site URL: https://seadragon-pear-6ndb.squarespace.com/ Any suggestions on how to add a tagline under the logo? In the site styles it gives me the option to show one or the other, but I'd like to display both. https://seadragon-pear-6ndb.squarespace.com/ password: op1 If it's going to be an issue to add it under the logo, I have an alternate plan. I've added a green bar under the slideshow banner, but I need some advice on how to use CSS so there isn't so much space above/below it AND so the text on that green bar shows as white instead of gray. I tinkered with it for a while, but I'm very much a novice and I'm stumped. I created that bar as a section on the index, and it just has a ton of space around it.
  25. Site URL: https://seadragon-pear-6ndb.squarespace.com/ I am using the slideshow in my homepage banner at https://seadragon-pear-6ndb.squarespace.com/ password: op1. I added the following CSS to adjust the placement of the text block with the goal of keeping the text from overlapping the faces in the photo when in desktop and tablet views. I am a novice at CSS, so all of this is experimenting with things I've found in various articles. .meta .meta-description p { text-align: left; vertical-align: top; max-width: 600px; padding-right: 30%; } @media screen and (max-width: 1024px){ .meta .meta-description p { text-align: left; } } @media screen and (max-width: 420px){ text-align: left; width: 100% !important; } Now, for some reason, the heading size has become inconsistent from slide to slide. You'll see screenshots of the correct view (the bigger green text) and the incorrect view (the tiny green text). Any advice on how to make it stay the same from slide to slide? That heading text size is currently set at 60px, but obviously that isn't staying the same across the board. Thanks so much in advance!!!
