  1. I created a new website since the trial has expired. (bought a domain) I have this new account, with a new website I created and I wanted to transfer domain I own but it won't let me. So I made the old account (where the trial has expired/which is using the domain) as Administrator of this new website.. still won't work.. Does anyone have the same problem as mine? How to fix it? Thank you
  2. I am wondering if it would be possible to include the author's image to the right of the author's name at the very top of each blog post? I found code that allowed you to place the author bio below the title, but it doesn't look great and there is too much white space. I don't need to have the full bio either. Just looking to place the circular image next to the name. Thanks to anyone that can help.
  3. What's the best template to use for a novelist/screenwriter website? An author friend used the old Margot template, which I like, but I believe is discontinued. I'm up for any suggestions. Thanks!
  4. Hi folks, Might someone be able to tell me how I change the font in the blog Author Bio (that is shown at the bottom of each post) perchance? Many thanks, Lee.
  5. Hello, my current author profile looks kinda like this (attached - Dipanjan Pal) I want it style it better to make it look like my friend Jeroen (attached below) How can I do that with CSS? Link to one of my blog post - https://bluebird-tuba-waaw.squarespace.com/blog/5lgwk48at7h6pe6rm2omsnco6lgyqc Link to Jeroen's blog post - https://jvn.photo/black-friday-weekend-2023/ Also, I'd like the tags to be look like buttons on hover like Jeroen's website. Can anyone please also help me with that?
  6. https://devonvesper.squarespace.com/shop pass: chatzy I'm just coming over from WordPress + WooCommerce where I had print books for sale through Lulu as my print book print-on-demand dropshipper. Is there any such thing I can do on Squarespace where I don't have to store inventory and ship myself or have my customers go to a different site to buy the books? I'd like it to be seamless and check out on my Squarespace storefront like the rest of my products. I don't mind redoing my entire catalog (cries). I'd prefer BookVault, but I'd also go for Lulu since I already have my books up on their site. I'm also open to other suggestions, as well. Thank you so much!
  7. Everyone should drop the problems they are facing on their squarespace for solutions
  8. I imported blog content from a WordPress site, which resulted in multiple blank author profiles to show up on our blog. The names that are seen in this screenshot are the only people that have access to this site. How can I remove those blank lines entirely?
  9. I want to list an author and date at the top of each blog post. Ideally, I wanted to add my author bio so I could have a brief description but don't see a way to do that since I have 3 websites and I only see one main author bio to edit. My next best option was to have the author name and date at the top of the posts, which I do now, but I want the author name to link to my about page. It sends you to all posts written by me instead which I understand but that is driving me crazy! Any suggestions? I'm looking for a solution that doesn't involve updating every blog post individually if possible. The reason I'm adding this is because I was hit hard by the helpful content update and I've read having author information is important. I do have a sidebar that links to my about page but since that is custom code, I'm not sure if it gets crawled in time to be seen. Thanks!
  10. Hi, I'd like to sell ebooks directly to readers from my website (upgraded to Commerce shortly), have them pay through PayPal (or another credit card processor), and have the ebooks delivered through BookFunnel. Is there a step-by-step explanation of the process? Has anyone done this? What are the pitfalls should I look for? Anything you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
  11. I have a blog page unpublished and have found that whatever circle image I try to upload to the author profile image, it always seems to cut off half the image! (see attached image) any ideas how to fix this?
  12. The frustrating part of my site is that sometimes author bios appear and other times they do not. There seems to be no reason. A good example is https://www.assuredsupport.com.au/articles/a-guide-to-asic-portals. Can anyone explain why this happens sometimes and how I can fix it? It's driving me nuts
  13. Please see Blog Post Author Sort. This is an experimental Bookmarklet that sorts the Authors. Now when I say experimental nothing bad as far as causing issues with your site will happen. If something did happen visually then a simple reload of the page should do the trick. To use it you need to... Install the code as a bookmark, in your browser. When you hit the page use the... ...to copy the code. Add a basic author with a display name of blog post author sort - twc. Get the author menu of a blog post up on screen, then use the Bookmarklet. Give the code a beat as it takes some time to load and run. blog post author sort bookmarklet.mp4 If you don't know how to add a bookmark to your browser then you should be able to find info on the web how to do it. I think short term a bookmarklet is a good way to go. Ideally, I think, this would be a better job for a Mutation Observer but those are harder to write, especially tinkering with the SS interface as it's not really ideal for semi-semantic targeting of its elements. If you decide to give the bookmarklet a go, let us know how it goes.
  14. I'd like each blog post to show the full publication date "Day Month Year" instead of just "Day Month". I know the summary block shows the full date but I'd like users/readers who extract or use our content to be able to properly reference it. Thanks for any help/advice you can provide
  15. I'm trying to make the author name on the blog page link to all the posts they've written in that blog. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
  16. Hey all! I'm trying to edit the author bio at the bottom of my blog posts but nothing I put in the Custom CSS changes it. I've tried all the recommended code in this forum but when I put the code in, nothing is changing. I tried codes in this post and this post just to see if it worked but nothing changed. Any ideas why that's happening?
  17. Why Not Give the Customer What They Expect? Surprise Them Instead! In the realm of business, it may be tempting to fulfill customer expectations by providing exactly what they anticipate. However, as an entrepreneur, there is immense value in surprising and delighting your customers with unexpected experiences. By going beyond their expectations, you can forge deeper connections, generate loyalty, and create memorable moments that set you apart from competitors. Imagine a scenario where a customer orders a pizza delivery. Instead of receiving a standard, predictable pizza, they open the box to find a creatively shaped, gourmet pizza with unique toppings that they have never encountered before. This surprise element not only exceeds their expectations but also leaves a lasting impression. The customer is more likely to share their experience with others and become a repeat customer, purely based on the surprise factor. Another example is a clothing retailer offering personalized styling sessions. Instead of simply assisting customers in finding outfits that match their preferences, the retailer surprises them by curating complete looks they would have never considered on their own. This unexpected twist elevates the shopping experience and leaves customers feeling valued and excited about their new wardrobe. By embracing the element of surprise, entrepreneurs can tap into customers' emotions and create a sense of wonder and excitement. These experiences generate positive word-of-mouth, organically attracting new customers and enhancing brand reputation. Surprising customers doesn't have to be limited to product offerings. Exceptional customer service can also be a powerful tool for leaving a lasting impression. Going the extra mile to provide personalized recommendations, unexpected perks, or even handwritten thank-you notes can leave customers feeling genuinely appreciated and valued. In summary, breaking away from the predictable and surpassing customer expectations through surprises can significantly impact your business. By delighting customers with unique products, unexpected experiences, and exceptional service, you create memorable moments that foster loyalty, generate positive word-of-mouth, and set your brand apart. Embrace the opportunity to surprise and exceed expectations, and watch your business thrive.
  18. Title describes the problem. I did not see this problem elsewhere, so am posting this question after experiencing the difficulty three straight times. I am running my site on SS7.1. I had this experience with my very first Basic Author, and IIRC, it simply "resolved itself" after a few days and me experimenting with different profile data entry options. But it's happening again today with two new Basic Authors, both of whom have blog posts being held up by this problem. When I go into the Permissions panel, they are there. But when I go to the Author dropdown in Blog Post Settings/Content, they are not. Any suggestions? TIA! UPDATE: A couple of hours later, the new Basic Authors appeared in my Squarespace mobile app [iOS], and allowed me to assign them to their articles. However, even though these draft articles appear correctly in my Squarespace desktop web browser editor [MacOS Safari] with their correct authors, the pull-down menu in the desktop web editor for Blog Post/Settings/Content still does not contain their names, and according to that window, no author is assigned. Weird. But at least I seem to have a workaround.
  19. I saw a really amazing feature on a fellow author's website, where they had a list of romance tropes and character types that you can click on and it automatically sorts their books that have only that trope (I.e., sort all books by instalove and remove the non-instalove ones. If you click friends-to-lovers next, it removes the instalove books and only shows friends-to-lovers book covers and nothing else). It's not tied to being in a store, but a regular page listed under their Books tab, which is where I would like to have one as well: https://www.rhyswritesromance.com/tropes I have almost 30 books in my backlist, so this would be an incredibly helpful feature for my website instead of only having an alphabetical list of all my books by series with text and buttons like I do here: https://www.ariellazoelle.com/ariella-zoelle-all Is there a way for me to mimic this automatic responsive sort by category/type on a non-store page on my website for displaying book covers that are hyperlinked to their respective pages? Thanks!
  20. Hi, my website features 3 different blogs (one is a blog, other two list podcast episodes and recipes). I want to feature an author in the blog, but hide this section from the podcast and recipes. How do I change the settings of one blog without it affecting the others? Thanks
  21. I have recently launched a second website which is under a business name. However, when I go to respond to comments, rather than having the business name (Voice in the Dark), it comes up with my personal name. I have changed the author of each blog to Voice in the Dark, so I am not sure why my name is used to comment. Any clues on how I can change this? Thanks
  22. I'm looking for some simple CSS to hide the hyperlink when hovering over the name and bio image in the Author Profile at the end of each blog post. By default, when hovering over the name and the bio image, SQS links to the blog page. I don't want any hyperlink on the bio name or image. If that's not possible - then CSS to change the default hyperlink to another page on the site. Thank you!
  23. This code technically removes the words "written by" I need to close the space up between the bullet and the author name/link. .blog-meta-item.blog-meta-item--author.p-author.author { visibility: hidden; } a.blog-author-name { visibility: visible; } FYI: Site is under construction, but should NOT need access to it. This is a basic functionality question.
  24. I am looking for a blog review option so a guest blogger can preview the blog post prior to publishing it. I do not want the guest blogger to have any other access to the back end of the site - just the ability to preview the particular blog post(s) they are contributing to confirm it is good to publish. Is there a way to password protect an individual blog post for preview? Is there an option that will allow a guest blogger to only review their particular blog post(s) and not give them access to content from other guest bloggers? NOTE: Guest bloggers have already been added to the site as basic authors so I can designate each guest blogger as the author of their particular blog post(s). I considered password protection for a blog post, however, I am only seeing an option to password protect a blog page - not a particular post within that page. Additionally, I considered giving access to bloggers as contributors instead of as a basic author, but doing so will give access to additional content that I do not want a guest to have on the site (i.e. access to other guest bloggers' posts and content).
  25. I'm creating a blog for a client of mine -- and sometimes the posts will have more than 1 author. Is there any way to add multiple authors to a blog post so it displays each of their names as separate, clickable metadata entries in a summary block and on the post itself? And then also have two separate author profiles at the end of the blog post? I don't want to just put "X Smith & Y Doe" as the author name in Permissions given the above goals. Seems crazy that there wouldn't be a built-in feature to allow this functionality. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
