  1. I am building a long page with navigation built on anchor tags (SquareSpace 7.1). However, if you scroll on the site it doesn't update the URL slugs to be the correct anchor tag. The problem is: if you click on a link in the header "x" it will scroll to the correct portion of the site. However, if you click on "x" again, it won't do anything because the site believes you are already on that page. Ideally, there is a solution that updates the URL slug as you scroll however, I cannot find it. Thank you!
  2. Site URL: https://haddock-collie-439x.squarespace.com/services Hi, I am working in Brine in 7.0. I am using direct hyperlinks to create anchor links to individual sections of an index page. (See "Services" menu for an example.) Because I am also using a fixed header, when the link is clicked, the browser jumps to the correct section but the title and first few lines of text of the section are hidden behind the main navigation. Can't for the life of me figure out how to get it to bump down the required 120px to display correctly. Would love any help, please!
  3. Site URL: https://www.kacfgala2020.org/sponsorships Hi! Here I am thinking I'm being clever and using anchor links on my homepage navigation, but they don't work on an internal, unlinked page. The client I'm working with wanted to have sponsorship details on an unlinked, internal page. But the anchor links no longer link back to the homepage. Is there a way to have a separate navigation for the internal page that has page links as opposed to anchor links? Are anchor links not the solution to my homepage navigation? Any and all help is always appreciated! Please let me know what you think!
  4. I'd like to add a sticky sidebar with anchor link navigation to one of the pages on my site, exactly like the "Navigate This Post" sidebar on this site: https://thirtyeightvisuals.com/blog/free-squarespace-plugins-meet-ghost#mgfsp-anchor-08 What's the best way to go about adding this?
  5. Site URL: https://nextcitylawyer.com/free-resources/the-truth-about-virtual-vacation-schemes Good afternoon I have added anchor links to the blog posts on my website in order to make it easier for visitors to navigate long blog posts. The anchor link functionality works well, but the code block includes a substantial amount of top and bottom padding which breaks up the page. It's more than the equivalent with a conventional h3 header. <p id="attitude"><h3> 1. Attitude </h3></p> This is an example of the code that I have used on the linked page. Is there a way to reduce the vertical padding between the blocks of the text? Thanks for your help in advance. I regard anchor links as a core feature of any blogging platform so it would be very useful to get some guidance on this issue.
  6. Site URL: https://www.elephantom.design Hi everyone, I have a button embedded on the last image of www.elephantom.design/gallery. It links to an anchor on my home page, which is an index page with 3 sections. The link is to the 3rd section of the home page, called subscribe-to-the-newsletter. It seems I have tried every combination of page slugs and # signs with always the same end result: it sends me to the home page but does not scroll down to the 3rd section. I also tried putting a new <div id> or <span id> code right with a new unique id before the 3rd section and used that id in the anchor link: it did not change the behavior. Helpful info: Home page slug: /welcome 3rd section page slug: /subscribe-to-the-newsletter I'm on macOS with Safari. Also tried on Chrome, no change. Thanks for any helpful tips!
  7. Site URL: https://www.chriszforma.com/priorities/ On my page I have 6 images and they have as their URL the jump to the anchor ID found lower on the same page. However, the jump to the anchor goes past the header that holds the anchor. it jumps to the middle of the paragraph below the <h3> header that hold the anchor id. How can I get it to jump to and display the header?
  8. Site URL: https://tricycle.org/beginners/buddhism/who-was-the-buddha/ Hello! I was wondering if there's any way to do this on Squarespace: So there's links on the left hand side of the page, which is fixed and the right side of the page jumps to the section click on. All the content is within one page, or a gallery sort of thing should go back and forth as clicked on the link. Hope this is clear? Looking forward to know if anyone has a solution πŸ˜€ Kind regards and good vibes, Pawan
  9. Site URL: https://gazelle-tetra-6em8.squarespace.com/general For the site - https://gazelle-tetra-6em8.squarespace.com/general password: DevTeam The anchor links under the dropdown FAQ aren't working as expected. 'Applicants' and 'Supporters' are supposed to scroll down the FAQ page (/general) to the relevant headings. The Applicants link only works some of the time.
  10. Site URL: https://www.ivyhillentertainment.com So this seems crazy that this doesn't work but I'm wondering if it's because of the way that SS loads content.... I want to be able to share a link on social media or an email or something that links to a specific place on a page that is www.site.com/#my-anchor and desipite following even the SS help doc on this it doesn't seem to work. Here's an example www.ivyhillentertainment.com/#home-throw-a-party-title. SS also mentions something like adding the main page slug in-between the link and i've seen it in various places like this www.ivyhillentertainment.com/home/#home-throw-a-party-title or www.ivyhillentertainment.com/home#home-throw-a-party-title None of these seem to work... Any ideas? Am i just making some weird dumb mistake in the URL?
  11. Site URL: http://www.sevenvalleyshealth.org Hello! I have anchor links embedded within my site and they work like a charm for PC/tablet platforms but do not work on a mobile platform. It seems this is an issue that others have had problems with from what I am seeing on the forum, but has anyone figured out a solution for this? Thanks! --SVHC
  12. Site URL: https://www.redeemerarlington.com I'm redoing my work's website and giving it a few tweaks. I'm used to WordPress, so Squarespace is a new venture for me. I would like to create one page for our About Us and link to different sections of the page in our navigation menu. Is there a way to set up anchor links on a page and make those the links on our menu? For example, About Us with the drop down of "Mission and Vision" goes to the "Mission and Vision" section of the page. I don't want to create an index page, I just want to to be one simple page with menu links. I tried creating an anchor link with a code block, but that wasn't recognized as a page in the menu link. Template: Polaris from Brine Family
  13. Site URL: https://www.herefortherightriesling.com/ Hello, Is there a way to add an anchor link to link within the same page within the template that I chose? I just want to link a word at the top of the page to jump down to the middle of the page, but for some reason no where in this template allows me to add in custom code block? Any suggestions or work arounds? Thank you!
  14. Site URL: https://www.dpianostudio.com I am trying to insert an anchor link, following this Squarespace help. It used to work before, but not anymore. I am using Moksha (Brine family) template. I have tried header code Injection from: And also: but for some reasons I couldn't make it to work. It links to the correct page, but not the section. Please help! Thanks a lot in advance!
  15. Site URL: https://medscosheetmetalfabrication.squarespace.com Hello All, I've been trying to figure out how to emulate the index scroll indicator arrow on the top section of the page (link below) instead of having a button on different section of the same cover page. Is there any way to have multiple index scroll indicator arrow in one index page and replace the other two buttons with the same arrow? Was going for uniformity. Password for site: medscosite - What We Do (has an arrow indicator) - Products (have a button - want to emulate the arrow) - Who We Are (have a button - want to emulate the arrow) Not sure if there's a way to do this and a guidance/help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  16. Is there a way to create anchor links where the slug portion is dynamically generated to just be "this" page? I'd like to not have to edit all my links after cloning the page. They all jump down to sections on the same page.
  17. I want certain links to jump to certain sections on a page. For example, I have a section called "evaluation". I added a code block containing only <p id="evaluation"></p> and made it really small and put it inside the evaluation section of the page. I have a link to understandingimpact.com/services/#evaluation. The link goes to the evaluation section of the services page, but it jumps to close to the bottom of the evaluation section, not the top. My code block is tiny and right at the top so I don't know why this is happening. I have three sections on this page, each with a code block establishing an id, and all of the links jump to the bottom of the section I want them to go to, instead of the top where the code block is.
  18. I installed an anchor link on my homepage in Squarespace 7.1 and when i click the link it jumps to the section instead of scrolling down to it. I'm using a CODE block with a DIV ID in the section I want to scroll to. see code below: <div id="pp"></div> and for the text link I put: /homepage/#pp It doesn't scroll, it just loads the section that has the Code Block with ID. Any help is appreciated. Thx
  19. HI, I'm struggling with getting used to squarespace 7.1 trying to do simple things. Previously in 7.0 you can create index pages and link to the page slug. I am create a one page scrolling website, but I wan to create a link in the navigation to jump to a section further down the page. How on earth do I do this in 7.1?? many thanks
  20. I did a chat with squarespace but I am still struggling. I am trying to create multiple pages inside a page. I was told about anchor links and adding links. I created a text box and did a link (called new page) and created it I then created another link but now I don't know how to link it to its own page so I can create it. I clicked on new page again but it just sends me back to the first link I made. I need to make 26 extra links. Can someone dumb this down for me. I read everything online but I feel confused. Thanks
  21. Hey all! I'm totally new to squarespace and I'm trying to set up a fairly simple photography website and wanted to have everything on one scrolling page. I have the index page all set up but I can't figure out how to get the navigation bar to link to sections of the index page. For example, I can only get a link to the "About" page to show up in the navigation bar if it's a separate page. If I move the About page to a section in the index page it disappears from the navigation bar. Is there a way to get sections of the index page to show up in the navigation bar, so I can set it up to scroll down to the About section by clicking it in the bar? Thanks in advance for the help!
  22. I have a little bit of an odd problem with anchor links and mobile navigation in the new 7.1 template. I'm creating a single page website for a client (unfortunately I cannot yet share the website) and have created anchor links in the main navigation so users can quickly scroll to sections of the page. I've done this by setting the links as "#AboutUs" for example, and creating an empty div with the id "AboutUs" where I want the page to scroll to. In the desktop layout this works as intended, but on mobile when a navigation link is clicked the full-screen navigation menu remains open. The user is then completely unaware that the link has worked as it looks like nothing has happened, when in fact behind the full-screen navigation menu the page actually has scrolled to the correct point on the page. I've tested this in a live 7.0 site and it works as intended (open mobile navigation > click on anchor link > mobile navigation closes and page scrolls to the relevant id) but not in 7.1. I've also noticed that the page no longer smoothly scrolls when clicking an anchor link like it did before, but this is a minor issue compared to the above, so it doesn't bother me too much. TL;DR In 7.1, is there a way to force the mobile navigation menu to close when an anchor link is clicked?
  23. Is there any way to turn the template generated navigation links into anchor links? So instead of opening a new page, the site jumps down the page to the anchor link. I am using the Harris template and my client has decided he wants it to be a single page site, without secondary pages. Is there any way I can achieve this? I have currently added text links to the body of the website to act as the navigation and hidden the template generated navigation. Ideally though I want the navigation to be in the navigation bar and not in the site body. link is here: https://koi-tuba-ck62.squarespace.com/ PW: HaefeleSugaree
  24. Index pages with anchor links to the various sections of the index are a very common website setup nowadays. Unfortunately the anchor links do not work correctly on mobile. In my case, when clicking an anchor link doesn’t close the menu and scroll to the correct section. My idea of solution is to add a click event. When clicking the anchor link, the mobile navigation will close. But this function still not work at my website. Can anyone tell me is that anything I did wrong? My website: I-kinball.org (pw: treats) reference website: riverstonedigital.com (mobile version) This is the function I added: <script> //Anchor link fix function anchorLinks(){ Y.all("a.Mobile-overlay-nav-item").on('click',function(){ Y.one('body').removeClass('is-mobile-overlay-active'); }); Y.all("a.Mobile-overlay-folder-item").on('click',function(){ Y.one('body').removeClass('is-mobile-overlay-active'); }); } // DOM Ready Y.on('domready', function(){ anchorLinks() }); //RSD Mutation Boserver wrapper function RSD_init(){ anchorLinks(); } // add watch function to window.onload window.onload = RSD_watch; // watch function to look for page changes using Mutation Observer function RSD_watch() { MutationObserver = window.MutationObserver || window.WebKitMutationObserver; var mo = new MutationObserver(function(mo) { var moCount = 0; for (var b = 0; b < mo.length; b++) { var c = mo[b]; if ("attributes" === c.type && moCount === 0) { RSD_init(); } } }); var options = { attributes : true, attributeFilter : ['id']}; mo.observe(document.body, options); } </script>
  25. I've got a one-page website, but obviously each section has its own url slug. This isn't a problem by itself, but when a user goes directly to one of those section URLs (www.gabrielmolinamusic.com/services , for example), they are taken to a separate page with only that section. Instead, I want the URL to take them to the anchor point for that section on the homepage, so they can still scroll up or down to see the rest of the page. I hope that makes sense. My website is www.gabrielmolinamusic.com , and you can see the problem by going to the slug /services or /works for a couple of examples. Squarespace support had no answer other than blocking those pages with a password, but I was hoping there is a way to accomplish my goal with custom code. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
