  1. We're in the process of migrating one of our Squarespace sites to a non-Squarespace domain. The current site will be sunset over the course of a few months, but we want to accelerate the process by redirecting some site functions to the new site. We attempted to implement a 301 redirect in URL Mappings, but despite it being input correctly, it's not working, and we're getting no error message to indicate something's amiss. I read from an external source that Squarespace doesn't allow 301 redirects to external domains not connected to/owned by Squarespace. Is this correct? Has anyone had p
  2. Site URL: https://www.widala.se Hello, I am about to change our top domain from .se to .com and use .com/se for Swedish and .com/en for English, ie making a subdirectory. Those changes seems ok (so far, before launching :)) but when I am preparing for the switch I am preparing all redirections for this. The problem is that redirections starts with “/“ and doesn’t contain the top domain. So my question is how I should do this so that the redirections work? For example I would like www.widala.se redirect to widala.com/se but I don’t know how to do it. Should I write the whole URLs for all re
  3. I have two sites on squarespace and both are live. I want to keep (Site+Domain B) and redirect (Site+Domain A) to (Site+Domain B). Important here is that several pages on (site+domain A) are ranking well, so I want to redirect on a page by page level. I'm an SEO and have done several site migrations in the past, but all on WordPress. With no access to server (.htaccess, etc.) on SquareSpace, I'm getting mixed answers on how to properly configure this. I spoke to SquareSpace help chat and got an answer that made zero sense. Has anyone done this that can confirm how to handle it?
  4. Hello, I'm changing domain name and have been 301 all of the old pages to my new website. The only one I can't do is the homepage 301 as I have to disable the homepage which isn't possible without setting another one. Can anyone help?
  5. Site URL: https://ourresolutehope.com/stunned-by-grace-book Can I 301 redirect a page that never existed to one that does? Material got sent out directing people to /books/stunned-by-grace but there is no /books. It should be /stunned-by-grace-book. Can someone tell me why and/or suggest a way to direct people following that first link to the correct page? 1st solution (doesn't work): URL Mapping /books/stunned-by-grace -> /stunned-by-grace-book 301 2nd solution (doesn't work): I tried creating a folder called "books" and putting a page called /stun
  6. Hi, Looking for clarification on how to use a 301 URL redirect. I changed my primary domain about a year ago (incidentalsewing.com -> incidentalwildland.com) but still currently own both domains. I understand that in order to use a 301, the old domain needs to be disabled or deleted. I think I'm ready to do that, but before I do I have two questions: 1. How can I see how much traffic if any is still using the old web address, and can I see where they're coming from? 2. How do I disable the old domain? Do I just let it expire? Thanks!
