  1. Site URL: https://corn-apricot-zn88.squarespace.com/staff-blog-test I added a scale on hover effect to my personnel summary block. It worked absolutely fine until I looked at it today. I have not changed any CSS. Now the scaled up image bleeds outside of the box. It should not be visible between the images. Is there something I can add. (site PW is BA47) I tried an override with "overflow: hidden" but it does nothing. This is the ENTIRE code for the hover effect and title overlays that is in the CSS. It is used on the personnel page and portfolio page. @sbg-6_title-font-color: #e86335; @sbg-6_title-case: uppercase; @sbg-6_title-letter-spacing: 0.1em; @sbg-6_title-font-family: 'arial'!important; @sbg-6_title-font-size: 20px; @sbg-6_title-font-weight: normal; @sbg-6_title-paddinng-vertical: 90%; @sbg-6_link-font-family: 'arial'!important; @sbg-6_link-font-size: 18px; @sbg-6_link-case: varies; @sbg-6_link-font-weight: normal; @sbg-6_link-font-color: #000000; @sbg-6_link-letter-spacing: 0.1em; @sbg-6_excerpt-padding-vertical: 0; @sbg-6_excerpt-padding-horizontal: 10%; @sbg-6_excerpt-font-color: #000 !important; @sbg-6_excerpt-font-family: 'arial'!important; @sbg-6_excerpt-font-size: 14px!important; @sbg-6_excerpt-font-weight: normal; @sbg-6_excerpt-line-height: 1em; @sbg-6_excerpt-case: none; @sbg-6_clickthrough-option: auto; @sbg-6-metadata-bg: rgb(234, 226, 234); @sbg-6_metadata-padding-vertical: 10px; @sbg-6_metadata-padding-horizontal: 30px; @sbg-6-metadata-font-color: #fff; @sbg-6-metadata-case: uppercase; @sbg-6-metadata-letter-spacing: 0.1em; @sbg-6-metadata-font-weight: bold; @sbg-6_hover-time-overlay: 1s; @sbg-6_hover-time-content: 0.7s; @sbg-6_hover-time-image: 0.5s; @sbg-6_hover-scale: 1.2; @sbg-6_hover-overlay-bg: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.7); @sbg-6_mobile-excerpt-padding-vertical: 5%; @sbg-6_mobile-excerpt-padding-horizontal: 5%; @sbg-6_mobile-overlay-bg: rgba(234, 226, 234, 0.5); @sbg-6_mobile-title-font-size: 20px; @sbg-6_mobile-excerpt-display: block; /* This displays the Title */ .sqs-gallery-design-autogrid { //Grid layout .summary-thumbnail-outer-container a { margin: 0 !important; } //Grid overlay .summary-content .summary-title { color: @sbg-6_title-font-color; font-family: @sbg-6_title-font-family; font-size: @sbg-6_title-font-size; font-weight: @sbg-6_title-font-weight; letter-spacing: @sbg-6_title-letter-spacing; margin-bottom: 0; text-transform: @sbg-6_title-case; word-break: break-word; } .summary-title::after { content: ""; display: block; } .summary-content .summary-excerpt p, .product-price, .summary-metadata--primary { color: @sbg-6_excerpt-font-color; font-family: @sbg-6_excerpt-font-family; font-size: @sbg-6_excerpt-font-size; font-weight: @sbg-6_excerpt-font-weight; line-height: @sbg-6_excerpt-line-height; text-transform: @sbg-6_excerpt-case; } .summary-read-more-link { color: @sbg-6_link-font-color; font-family: @sbg-6_link-font-family; font-weight: @sbg-6_link-font-weight; letter-spacing: @sbg-6_link-letter-spacing; text-transform: @sbg-6_link-case; } .sqs-gallery-meta-container { display: -webkit-box; display: -ms-flexbox; display: flex; -webkit-box-orient: vertical; -webkit-box-direction: normal; -ms-flex-direction: column; flex-direction: column; height: 100%; -webkit-box-pack: center; -ms-flex-pack: center; justify-content: center; padding: @sbg-6_excerpt-padding-vertical @sbg-6_excerpt-padding-horizontal; position: absolute; top: 0; pointer-events: @sbg-6_clickthrough-option; -webkit-transition: background @sbg-6_hover-time-overlay; -o-transition: background @sbg-6_hover-time-overlay; transition: background @sbg-6_hover-time-overlay; width: 100%; } .summary-metadata--secondary { background: @sbg-6-metadata-bg; padding: @sbg-6_metadata-padding-vertical @sbg-6_metadata-padding-horizontal; position: absolute; bottom: 0; left: 50%; text-align: center; -webkit-transform: translate3d(-50%, 0, 0); transform: translate3d(-50%, 0, 0); z-index: 999; } .summary-metadata--secondary a { color: @sbg-6-metadata-font-color; font-family: 'montserrat'; font-size: 13px; font-weight: @sbg-6-metadata-font-weight; letter-spacing: @sbg-6-metadata-letter-spacing; text-transform: @sbg-6-metadata-case; } .summary-title, .summary-metadata--primary, .summary-read-more-link, .summary-excerpt, .product-price { opacity: 0; -webkit-transition: @sbg-6_hover-time-content linear; -o-transition: @sbg-6_hover-time-content linear; transition: @sbg-6_hover-time-content linear; } .summary-metadata-item::after { display: none; } .summary-thumbnail { -webkit-transition: -webkit-transform @sbg-6_hover-time-image; transition: -webkit-transform @sbg-6_hover-time-image; -o-transition: transform @sbg-6_hover-time-image; transition: transform @sbg-6_hover-time-image; transition: transform @sbg-6_hover-time-image, -webkit-transform @sbg-6_hover-time-image; } //Grid hover mode .summary-item:hover { .summary-title, .summary-metadata--primary, .summary-read-more-link, .summary-excerpt, .product-price { opacity: 1; } .summary-thumbnail { -webkit-transform: scale(@sbg-6_hover-scale); -ms-transform: scale(@sbg-6_hover-scale); transform: scale(@sbg-6_hover-scale); }
  2. Site URL: https://www.levelstory.net Hi. I use a lot of summary blocks on my website and one thing I would really like to do is have the option to...well, have more options when it comes to organizing these blocks. Ideally I would like to organize by date (from oldest to newest) but there is no option for this and the only resource I have found is a $55 plugin (Lazy Summaries - https://www.squarewebsites.org/products/lazy-summaries). I'm not looking to spend that amount of money for something I will use once or twice. Does anyone know of a code that is cheaper than that, or free, that can allow you to organize a summary block from oldest to newest? Please do not suggest I change the post dates to get around this. I do this when I can but in this instance, I really just need a tool that will do the job I need. Also have to ask, why has Squarespace not implemented this? It feels a bit backwards to have this great website builder but lack basic functions such as this. It is really limiting and makes more work on my end.
  3. Site URL: https://moxieespresso.squarespace.com My client wants one of image blocks to a slider of the image with others. They want it to autoplay. However, it seems that the carousel gallery block is not available in the latest update. Anyone have a workaround or some CSS/plugin that will do this?
  4. It is still available in 7.1. It is now called a slideshow reel. It is a gallery page/section, not a block though. It can be set for autoplay. No code needed. Gallery blocks are not in 7.1.
  5. Site URL: https://www.thelieselotte.com/home-2 Hello everyone, I am looking for a custom code that allows me to open images in a summary block to open in a new window/tab. I looked at every entry in this forum and asked Squarespace support, but none of the solutions worked. I have a summary block at the top of my homepage displaying different art prints of mine. It looks like a gallery block, but it is the summary wall. I like the masonry layout of this one and would like to keep it. The problem: My art prints are available in my Etsy store and every image links to the product page on Etsy. But it doesn't open in a new tab, which makes people leave my site. Not ideal. Could someone help me out and let me know what code to use? Squarespace 7.0 Foster Template https://www.thelieselotte.com/home-2
  6. @deaton72 building off @tuanphan example you can just remove the body/collection ID for it to apply across all summary items .summary-item { overflow: hidden; } Working demo:
  7. Filter by date, but first change the publication date of each post and give the oldest post the newest date. That is how I handled one summary page of mine of photography lessons, I wanted them to show in numerical order which would not work due to the latest one having the latest date. and showing up first, which made the lessons post in reverse order. Changing the date fixed that. I then hid the date because it added nothing to the post itself. https://myrandomviews.com/photography-lessons
  8. Hi Circle, I'm helping a church client reimagine how a church can function in this virtual time and space. I hope to create a "user dashboard" or sorts, for congregants to see a summary of all the things on the site they interact with. The site will have solo prayer resources (guided meditation audio tracks, movement videos, etc), a prayer feed (post a prayer/comments wall), group worship Zoom events, the ability to schedule a 1-1 check in with a pastor, a sermon archive, volunteering opportunities/signups, and more. So for example, a user "hearts" a guided mediation, posts a prayer, and "wants to attend" Sunday worship, they'll see these assets summarized on their dashboard. Has anyone built anything like this with Squarespace before? Are there integrations that can accomplish this? I have a feeling this high-level integration of assets is too complex for Squarespace, and that this is an unfeasible undertaking. But I'm asking!
  9. Here is the code for my summary page, remember you can change any of the colors the #numbers. This code changes the read more link to a button, adds drop shadows to the thumbnail/excerpts. // DB Summary Block Design // .sqs-block-summary-v2 .summary-item { background-color: #ffffff; border-radius: 5px; -webkit-box-shadow: 0px 0px 15px rgba(100, 100, 100, 0.1) !important; -moz-box-shadow: 0px 0px 15px rgba(100, 100, 100, 0.1) !important; box-shadow: 0px 0px 15px rgba(100, 100, 100, 0.1) !important; } // DB Summary Content Padding // .sqs-block-summary-v2 .summary-item .summary-content { padding: 20px 40px 20px 40px; } // DB Summary Block Button // .sqs-block-summary-v2 .summary-item-record-type-text .summary-read-more-link { display: inline-block; margin-top: 10px; background: linear-gradient(to right, #F07C63, #E45372); color: white; border: 0px solid white; border-radius: 50px; padding: 10px 20px; } This is a couple of changes I made to the thumbnails and summary titles, you can adjust the font side and the degree of opacity: img.summary-thumbnail-image.loaded:hover { opacity: 0.8; } .summary-title-link { font-family: proxima-nova, serif; font-size: 16px; }
  10. Site URL: https://www.thirstforallah.com/en/home Hey all, Any idea why safari on my mac won't show the rounded edges on my summary block. See www.thirstforallah.com/en/home/resources/articles . On my phone all 4 edges are rounded (in chrome - i use android). On chrome on my mac for some reason the bottom left corner is not rounded, but the others are. My CSS coding is as follows: //grid gallery curved edges// .slide.sqs-gallery-design-grid-slide .image-slide-anchor { border-radius: 5px !important; } .sqs-gallery-block-slideshow { border-radius: 5px !important; } .sqs-block-summary-v2 .summary-thumbnail { border-radius: 5px 5px 5px 5px !important; }
  11. Hello! I am using 7.1 and trying to insert a summary block- I do not see the Summary section in the Insert menu described by the squarespace documentation How do I insert summary blocks in 7.1?
  12. Site URL: https://flatiron-demo.squarespace.com/ Hi, I just signed up for a "business" account and we are working on the portfolio/projects page. I wonder why it is not possible to use the 'Summary' block to show portfolio/projects (only Blog, Events and Products is available)? This was possible in version 7.0 , but seems to be gone for version 7.1? Wonder why? Feels logic to include the portfolio/projects to the 'Summary' functionality in version 7.1 also.. Anyhow.. I like the look of the FLATIRON template — is it possible to re-create the mosaic portfolio (like Summary-> Wall) in version 7.1? https://flatiron-demo.squarespace.com/ Thank you!
  13. I am looking for a way to force summary blocks to display 3 thumbnails per row along with their excerpt for mobile screens. Does someone know how to accomplish this? I have the summary block on the page below: https://www.dothingsnyc.com/journal Thanks, Josh
  14. I can't for the life of me figure out how to hide the active post in a summary block for blogs. So for instance, I want to feature a summary block showing "Related Posts," so I set it to the category of the current post, but the current post that the user is reading will still show up in the summary block. Is there a way to prevent that? There's no reason a user would want to click a link to the post they're already on, obviously. This is on the Nueva template, though I haven't seen the feature in any template I've used.
  15. Site URL: https://www.illumespa.ca/home I have a summary carousel on my homepage, and the link button that I styled is being cut off at the bottom. Hoping it's a quick fix, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it.

  17. Hi, I am trying to edit my website to have two vimeo embed videos loop and autoplay. I managed to do this through vimeo in the video settings and then importing the embed link. However, for some reason when I have more than one video in a row, one of the videos pauses while the other loops and autoplays. Is there any way to have both play continuously? Thanks in advance!
  18. Add to Page Settings > Advanced > Header <script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.5.0/jquery.min.js"></script> <script> $(document).ready(function() { $('a.summary-thumbnail-container.sqs-gallery-image-container').attr('target','_blank'); }); </script> Disable Ajax Loading if the code doesn't work. https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000253288-Ajax-loading
  19. Hi, I was wondering if there was any way to have a Vimeo video autoplay in Summary: Wall? I have know I need to embed a video into a regular page with autoplay feature turned on, but seems like no way to have them autoplay in Summary: Wall? I did add the video in as an embedded file trough gallery, but seems my only option is if there was some code to enable it. Thanks for your help
  20. Site URL: https://www.danirvin.com/ pw: danspeaks7467 I have an autoplay video in my header that is not resizing when I view it in mobile view here on SquareSpace. Additionally, it is not showing at all on my iOS device and have been testing a backup image, but would prefer the resized video to be autoplaying. Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions/support! :) Dan Attachments: Screenshots from web view and mobile view
  21. Hi all, Does anyones know how to stop a vimeo video in a gallery from showing pause control option on hover? I have it on autoplay looping and don't want the pause icon to appear at all on mouse over.. Thanks, Daniel:)
  22. Site URL: https://kati-agocs.squarespace.com/news-new Hey everyone. I haven't been able to get this to work myself. Does anyone have any solutions for making the summary items in a news or blog page to all be the same height where the CTA is all lined up at the bottom? I've done this with custom code cards for pricing and things like that but I can't seem to crack it for the blog summary grids. This is the page https://kati-agocs.squarespace.com/news-new We're in the process of building out the page and the content. It could launch without this but I know I would probably use something like this elsewhere if anyone has come across a good solution.
  23. [update - I have managed to get it working (hooray) but for some reason, the thumbnail gets hidden... I have no idea why.] I'm trying to align all the "Read More" buttons/links in a summary bloack to sit at the bottom of the block. I've managed to use flex-box to make the summary blocks all the same size (why this isn't a feature by default I have no idea), and I'm trying to do something similar for the read more buttons but I can't get it to work. I think the below code is somewhat correct, but I can't figure out how to get it working. display: flex; flex: 1; flex-direction: column; justify-content: space-between; @beatrizc, I was following one of your blog posts about it, but I can't seem to get it working, perhaps you're able to help?
  24. With 7.1 Tags and cats work with blog posts, events, and product pages only. With 7.0 Tags and cats work with Blogs, events, products, Album tracks, Gallery images, and video blocks. Cats and tags work work with summary blocks which can be filtered by the cat or tag given to the summary content pull, which matches the content for 7.0 and 7.1 as listed above.

I trying to align the metadata (tags & categories) of my summary block on the same line as my blog title : - I created a summary blog for my course calendar ( id=floatsection ) that overlay on my previous banner.
