Thank you bangank36. I've come to the conclusion that Squarespace is so utterly rubbish that I'm going to rebuild my site using Wordpress.

If I choose "Numbers" then every single image is represented (i.e. if there are 221 images in the gallery then there are 221 numbers displayed in the navigation). This looks ridiculous so at present I am forced to use either "Simple" or "None". What I would like, though, is a small set of numbers (say three) from the start and end of the sequence to appear with ellipsis to represent those in between—i.e. something like those in the attached image. Then as the user clicks through, these would change accordingly. You know the kind of thing—it's been used in website galleries for years. Is there any way of achieving this? At the moment, if I search for a text string that happens to be part of the filename of one or more of the images then the search results include the corresponding filename(s) (along with the usual title etc.) Is there a way of preventing this? i.e. a way of preventing the filenames from appearing in the search results. Thanks Paul. I’ve gotta say, it’s jaw-droppingly poor from Squarespace. I’m gonna have to rebuild the entire site from scratch using a different system.

The re-indexing didn’t solve the problem and they basically admitted it’s a problem with their code. I must say I am astounded that in 2021 an industry leader like Squarespace can’t provide a search function that works properly when it’s something anyone could do with a database decades ago. I would be interested to read more about what they’ve said / admitted about their search feature. Do you have any sources? Many thanks Benjamin

Thanks Paul. I've been in touch and the are doing a re-indexing from their side so hopefully that solves it. But it is ominous to hear that they admit their search feature doesn't work correctly. I hope there are not other issues with it.

Several days later and it's still a problem. Just as many results repeating as ever. Squarespace can be pretty annoying! Any ideas anyone?

Thank you for checking. I just tried again and it's still repeating some results but not so many. Perhaps it's a cache thing and all will be OK once they're refreshed (or something).

There is then a search bar that searches through the images only. When I search using one of the tags (e.g. "Marine"), then scroll to the bottom of the results and click "See More", it starts repeating the results—i.e. it displays the same images multiple times in the list of results. This is completely unacceptable obviously. Any idea what's going on? I should add that none of the tags or categories are duplicated (i.e. there isn't a category called "Marine" and tag called "Marine") Thanks in advance. Benjamin

UPDATE: the solution is that you have to have a label next to the check box (in addition to any title or explanation above it). Only then is there a difference in the email between a checked box and an unchecked box.

I have added a checkbox to a contact form on my site. When someone contact's me using the form, the purpose of the checkbox is simply to tell me if they also want to be added to my mailing list (I will then add them manually if it is checked). BUT when the form results are emailed to me THERE IS NO WAY OF TELLING whether or not they have ticked the box. Any idea how to solve this? Thanks in advance.
