sethhoffman reacted to tuanphan in how to properly include icons in the announcement bar CSS?
The site url doesn't work. Can you check it again?
Two ways to add FA icon
First is use i code on Markdown Block or Code Block. You can't use it in content: ""
Two is use FA Unicode code into content: "", something like this content: "\f073"; however you need to declare font-family. Each FA version will have a different font-family - To find Unicode code, click icon on FA website

Thanks for the response @paul2009
Do you know of any search plug-in that I could add to square space that isn’t native to square space? Perhaps some thing that index is your site and shows other results?

Site URL: https://cinnamon-gold-cr9n.squarespace.com/
Hey there,
I'm building a website for someone that is using a lot of affiliate links. Instead of selling her own items, we are using blogposts to show a picture and the source URL for the affiliate link. On the pages of the website, this is working as planned.
But she wants to make it so that when someone searches, the results show a lot like the summary blocks that we use for the regular listings. Ideally we would be able to show blog thumbnails in a grid, and that when someone clicked the image or title, it would take them to the source URL rather than the blog itself. I've attached a screenshot of the current layout.
The website is at https://cinnamon-gold-cr9n.squarespace.com/ and the password is "known".
Thanks in advance for any help!!

Hey folks -
I found someone who was able to implement a solution that works great for us. It's called Algolia (https://www.algolia.com/). Super fast search, customized layout, AI powered for typos.
We're launching the site next week at http://www.sarahs.co.uk

Hey @creedon - Thanks for all this guidance. How would you accomplish this in 7.1 instead of 7.0? Thanks in advance for your help! 🙂

All of the content in there was actually in a disabled gallery page within Squarespace.

There are many [expensive] search replacements that can add better search facilities.
It may be worth improving filtering and categorisation of products, rather than adding search. For example, allowing users to filter by 'size', 'colour', 'brand' and so on, in addition to product categories like 'Dresses'.

sethhoffman reacted to paul2009 in -Adjusting position of homepage image
I didn't notice the solid header 🙂
The section background (banner image) normally sits behind the header, but when the header is solid instead of transparent, it obscures some of the image. You should be able to lower the image using some CSS, but note that the header height changes with the screen width, so you may need to compromise on the exact position. For example (add to Design > Custom CSS):
.homepage .section-background:first-of-type { top: 110px } .homepage .header { min-height: 110px!important; background: #000; } Notes:
The code shifts down the background image in the first section. Ths code is specifically aimed at the homepage only. The code assumes a black (#000) header. It shifts the image down by 110 pixels. This is only for Squarespace 7.1 templates. -
sethhoffman reacted to paul2009 in Multiple Shipping Addresses
Hi Gary
Here are a couple of ideas to get the conversation started but it may help if you include a link to your website so that we can see the context.
Add a Custom Product Form to each product. You can then collect delivery dates, addresses and contact information for each arrangement separately. If the arrangements are added as Service Products, customers will not be prompted for shipping information again on the checkout page. This will allow customers to add multiple arrangements with different delivery dates or addresses to a single order.
If you enable Express Checkout, customers will be sent directly to the checkout as soon as they add a single product to their cart. This will avoid shipping confusion but may also prevent you upselling other items, unless these are added as product variants.
If neither suit your circumstances, you may need a custom solution.

sethhoffman reacted to GaryG in Multiple Shipping Addresses
I have a floral company operating on the Squarespace platform and sometimes customers purchase multiple arrangements going to different addresses all in the same order. For example, for Mother's Day the same customer may order an arrangement for their mom and grandmother, both going to separate addresses, but paid for on the same order. Is there a way to get a separate shipping address per item versus collecting all the shipping information generally at the end? Or is there a way to turn of collecting the shipping address (which we could rather build into a form)? Our overall goal is that we’ll be able to more efficiently track and fulfill deliveries as separate orders.
I reached out to squarespace and they advised this was not something they offered, which is a bit shocking. Are there other companies out there that have this issue and/or workarounds? Any guidance would be GREATLY appreciated.
