  1. Update: I tried the version you mentioned from here -https://codepen.io/goformarty/pen/pLzbZd and it worked! Thank you!
  2. Hey @tuanphan! I have a client who'd like something similar to this above question; a Home page headline where one word changes every second or two. Example - top headline: https://www.susandavid.com/ JS or CSS would work if you're open to sharing the code? Thanks so much! There isn't much on the site to see just yet but if you need to see a site: https://dr-stuart-ablon.squarespace.com/ PW Vacation2024# Rachel
  3. I wanted to comment on this to see if it could draw some more attention... thanks!
  4. @paul2009 Thank you so much. "You need to select one or the other for your inventory management. " - that right there is the key. Also, thank you for explaining the difference between Square POS and just a square reader - I was using those interchangeably not knowing there was this big difference. Thanks for the clarification. I bookmarked your other post for the future, as this is sure to come up again! Best, Rachel
  5. I can't tell you how often Square + Squarespace comes up, and every time -- I'm confused as to how to proceed or answer. I thought you could use Square for in-person product payments -- and it would interact correctly with Sqsp Commerce website. BUT, that you can't use Square for online store purchases in Commerce or Acuity appointments (aka you can use it in your brick and mortar store, but you can't sell products on your website w/ Square). Is that right? Do I have this wrong? It's especially confusing because the above post says you can't integrate Square POS but Squarespace's own website specifically says "Accept in-person payments with Square hardware." So which is it? Example: I have a potential Salon client who wants to sell appointments and products on her SS site and wants to use a Square card-reader in person for on-site purchases in the salon . Is this possible or no? Thanks!
  6. Just wanted to give another kudos to @creedon. This works and it's amazing. Thank you so much!
  7. hey @tuanphan That's what i am actually trying to do! I just created this page - https://oregonpatientsafety.org/home-1 There is a banner slideshow at the top and then the text in a section below it. I'd love some css help to make the text appear on top of the banner slideshow. Thank you!
  8. Hey folks! If you look at this Accessibility Checker, you'll see that the Squarespace "cookie warning" button doesn't have a description that is readable by a screen reader. Any idea how to force an alt tag/description onto that Cookie Banner button to fix this issue? Screenshot of the warning is below. Here is the checker, so you can view the error: https://www.accessibilitychecker.org/audit/?website=oregonpatientsafety.org&flag=us Thanks! Rachel
  9. I want to +1 the need for recurring events -- Not only for ease of workload, but also for SEO purposes. When you keep duplicating past events, google sees those duplicate pages over and over again and flags them as duplicate content - even though it's a monthly event. That said, if anyone has a way around this duplicate content issue - please let me know! My client is having a tough time with this.
  10. Hey all! https://www.missoulacompost.com/contact I am seeking advice. (Note I did not build this website but now i've been hired to fix a few things.) This is a Composting service that offers many different services. To start "Residential or Commercial service" you fill out one form. To "Schedule a delivery or a yard debris pickup," you fill out a different form. There is also a form to Hire the composting services at an Event, like a concert. These forms are Sqsp forms that feed into a google spreadsheet. The client reads the email/spreadsheet - and takes care of the order. The issue at hand is that there are too many places throughout the website to sign up for various kinds of services. It's messy and we are getting drop-off from too much clicking. Ideally, I'd like to make ONE "Start Services" page that has everything on it. The client likes when you can SEE the form on the page. Problem? Multiple forms on the page can look messy though. (And alternatively when they are styled as a Lightbox button, folks don't always fill them out.) Any ideas for how to create this page? I think a show/reveal would be nice - where it shows the form you want for the service you select ONLY. BUt... I'm not sure how to get that going. Also open to other ideas! I had started playing w/ a drop-down where you select a type of service and it jump links down to the appropriate form... But i'm really open to ideas. Thanks for the help! Rachel
  11. Hey gang! I am looking for advice/best practices on setting up Scheduling for a client. Due to security codes etc., I always find it challenging to access and connect someone else's google account. Besides asking them for their google logins, and having them text you security codes as needed, am I missing an obvious way to set up and connect their google accounts? (Since I usually work in Chrome, I'll often try to use Safari for connecting someone else's accounts which is fine but still not ideal. So, I'm wondering if other folks have a better workaround.) Thanks! Rachel
  12. I thought I'd +1 to this topic. I've been working on a 7.1 site and for the past half hour, I've been getting the "Couldn't Save Information" error (screenshot attached) every time I save an edited blog post. It's slowing down my work process and driving me nuts. Would love to get some eyes on this! Steps to replicate issue: Open a blog post Edit the blog post in any way (either in Settings or in the post itself.) Save. Then I get the error. Then... I have to reload the page and scroll, scroll, scroll until I find my place again. Thanks!
  13. Site URL: https://rachel-dickstein-dev.squarespace.com/director/blood-moon-2 https://rachel-dickstein-dev.squarespace.com/director/blood-moon-2 PW: The@ter2022 Hi all! I am tying to add a color gradient so that the purple section blends into the image section above it. I've been able to do this in the past, but on this page, it doesn't look good on small screens / mobile. Looks like the overlay isn't tall enough so a gap is showing. I tried adding "height" to my code to no avail. Anyone got the trick to fix? Is it that my image itself isn't tall enough? Thanks! Rachel This is the CSS I added: /*blood moon */ section[data-section-id="62422a5b8f70047a56eea75d"] .content-wrapper { width:100%!important; background: linear-gradient(180deg, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0), rgba(0, 0, 0, 0), rgba(77, 72, 106, 1)); z-index: 1; max-width: inherit; } PS @julians - saw you asked a similar questions so I'm adding you!
  14. Site URL: https://nick-mendillo-design.squarespace.com/contact PW: Carson123@ I can't believe the Tik Tok icon still isn't an option in social link blocks (anyone know when that's getting updated?) but in the meantime, I'm trying to swap out the standard link icon via CSS with a tik tok icon. I've done this before but for some reason can't get it to work today. The social links appear in the site-wide footer as well as on the contact page. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!
  15. I can't find the correct form to post this in - so I apologize if this is the wrong spot. I'm a new Squarespace Expert in the marketplace and am getting project requests via 99 Designs. I can't figure out how to make an hourly quote - only flat rate. Has anyone figured this out? Thanks!
  16. Hey @angelzplay @pog1983 and all! I'd love to hear where you all landed. I'm researching the best e-commerce plan for a potential online store, made with Printful. Squarespace is what I'm most familiar with - but I'm curious to understand this shipping issue ya'll are running into. Can you share screenshots or explain the issue in more detail? Is the problem that you can only do flat-rate shipping for any and all products? What happens when someone adds two products from your store? Any detailed info is appreciated - thanks!
  17. I finally got links to work - but the whole page is still crashing when I try to save / edit Markdown blocks. I have a lot of FAQs - so it's going to be a long block. I either need the markdown not to crash - or a different method of creating collapsible/accordion style FAQs. thanks!
  18. Hi all, I'm trying to create a collapsible FAQ section using markdown blocks. The collapsing part works fine. However, Every time I try to add a hyperlink inside of a markdown block, the page freezes and I have to restart my browser. Can anyone else replicate this error and/or offer advice? This is the page I'm working on - https://redesign-90-day-biz.squarespace.com/program-20. Thanks!
  19. Hi @SophieTW! Here is the site: https://www.90daybusinesslaunch.com/ This client has specific needs for different footers on different pages, posts etc. The first thing I did was edit the footer, adding all footer sections on top of each other. THEN, depending on the page, I hid certain footer sections with css. 1. For regular pages (not blog posts), I would use the Squarespace ID Finder to find the ID# for the whole footer SECTION and then hide that in the CSS. (Squarespace ID FInder is the only block id tool I've seen that includes SECTION ID's (for 7.1) in addition to regular block IDs.) For example, I added this in Custom CSS to hide one section of the footer on the home page: #collection-5f517693044378025220a034 section[data-section-id="6064c7ac6f681445cba7a9d3"] /*hide footer on home page */ { display: none !important; } 2. For Blog Posts, I would still use the Squarespace ID Finder to find the ID# for the whole footer SECTION and then hide that in the CSS - but I had to just put the code in a different area! Pages --> Blog --> Settings (Gear Icon) --> Post Blog Item Code Injection. (see screenshot.) <style> /* footer changes*/ section[data-section-id="5fa45f47e86b2736c8aa4259"] { display: none !important; } </style> Obviously, for all of those data section IDs, you need to locate your section ID using that the Squarespace ID Finder. Hope this helps! Rachel
  20. I just want to upvote the idea of adding Tik Tok and Discord to the Social Media blocks!
  21. Nevermind! I actually figured out how to do all of this using Advanced injection code in the different blogs. I should be all set. Thanks again!
  22. As a follow up (please ignore if you're busy, you've helped so much as is!) Is there an option to... Have one footer appear on blog posts ONLY but appear on no other pages? (i.e. instead of the CSS saying to hide a certain footer on every page, the CSS would say Show this footer only if the page is ___.) Display the "How to Launch Your dream business" footer on certain pages but hide it from all on blog posts? Distinguish between different blogs? I have 2 blogs - one called Articles and one called Case studies - and my client would like different footers on the posts from one blog vs the other. THANKS again!
  23. YOU ARE A GENIUS! Sorry for the delayed response. Finally tried this and it worked so well. That chrome extension is great. I've been using a simlar one for years (Squarespace Collection/Block Identifier) but it didn't include these sections in it. (Perhaps it hasn't updated for 7.1). In any case - Thank you so much!
