  1. Still having this problem on my website on mobile on any pages that have galleries. Been going on for several months now and is really a problem,. Basically on any pages the have galleries, the first one on the page loads, and a few of the older ones at the bottom of the page load, but the majority on the page only the thumbnails load, but the main image doesn't This is happening ONLY on mobile. Desktop view is fine. Anybody found a solution, or heard from Squarespace what to do? Here, again are the example pages: https://www.johnhalldesign.com/#/web/ https://www.johnhalldesign.com/#/magazines/
  2. I'm having a similar problem, but only on mobile, and only on selected galleries. Its a site on a pretty old version of Squarespace, and I have sometimes had slow loading issues before, but most of the galleries on these pages now aren't loading at all. First one on the page always loads OK, some of the lower ones load OK, thumbnails all load, but the main image on most of the galleries isn't loading at all. Again, this is only happening on my iphone (and other iphones I've tested it on). No problem on desktop browsers. These are the pages that are primarily affected https://www.johnhalldesign.com/#/web/ https://www.johnhalldesign.com/#/magazines/
  3. Had a client that let their Squarespace hosted domain lapse. I was able to help them reactivate it within a couple weeks, but the domain is not connecting to their websiste. I did see a note in the reactivation tutorial that said "“After reactivating, it may take up to 72 hours for your domain to reactivate and direct to your site.” but just wondering if it really usually takes that long, or if there's anything I need to do to make the site active again. Its been about 20 hours since they reactivated. This is the URL: https://www.oceansidemobilenotary.com Thanks.
  4. Always struggled with this too, but I think I found the solution. Following the suggestion from @tuanphan above, I added a blank section above it, told it minimum height , and reduced the the minimum number of blocks to 1. That got it pretty small but still added to the height of my header. So I found the ID of the section (There's a nifty browser plugin I found somewhere that lets you easily identify section IDs, Then in the custom CSS area I gave it a height: 0 code. So: section[data-section-id="FIND ID NUMBER"] { height: 0; } So far seems to work like a charm.
  5. Working on a site design that has a wide hero image as a section background under the header on every page. After spending a lot of time cropping all the images in Photoshop just right, and accounting for the area hidden by the header (which is itself an annoying feature of Squarespace), I now realize that when you turn on the Announcement Bar it moves the header down another half inch into the image area, thereby cropping into people's heads. Is there any way, even with custom code, to change this behavior? Ideally I'd like a setting or code that makes the first section stack under the header, rather than floating behind it and the announcement bar. Below shows a page with announcement bar off, and what happens when you turn it on.
  6. Site URL: https://www.midrunpress.com/ Can't figure out why the type gets larger before scaling down on responsive view on this site. Haven't seen this happen on other sites I've done. On 15" monitor full screen browser or larger type looks correct. If you narrow the window the text all jumps larger, before starting to scale down as I'd expect on responsive view. Any tips of why or how to avoid?
  7. May be a related issue, but I am noticing that certain custom CSS doesn't work if you are logged in, but does work if your aren't. So I have to keep a second browser or incognito window open that isn't logged in to Squarespace to see what things look like to the average viewer who isn't logged in.
  8. Actually that combination didn't quite work for me. Had to do this: .sqs-announcement-bar { background-color: #ab1313; } .sqs-announcement-bar-text { color: #fff; }
  9. Thanks, I would have figured it out, but easier to look up. You'd think this would be a pretty standard this to have a customization setting for, Squarespace.
  10. I actually went. back to your original selection and added "target="_blank right after the URL, and that did work. I didn't think it would unless I was writing out the full code, but seems it did. Thanks.
  11. So that works on the first image thumbnail, but not the others or the headline links. Getting close though. Is there some adjustment that will hit the others?
  12. Site is here https://jameslang.squarespace.com (pass=langview) Its the section on the home page under "Recent Essays" The three illustrations and headlines all link to another site. Links are set in the Blog interface for each post by checking "Post Title Should Link to Source URL". Unlike other places, there is no choice to open that link in new window. I know how to use target="_blank" if I'm writing it out in a code box, but this is just a toggle, and I don't think I can just add that on to the URL can I? I'm only a hack coder, so maybe there is a way, but can't. understand why Squarespace does give you the new window option here, as they do most other places.
  13. Building out a new site in 7.1, and I'm using a summary block to link some images to offsite pages. There are other ways I could do this, but the summary block gives me the best look and functionality for this. Only problem is, I don't have the ability to open the links in a new window, which I generally do with offsite links. Most other areas in Squarespace give you a toggle to chose to "open link in a new window", but I don't see this option in the summary block. There is a selection "Post Title should link to Source URL" but no option to open the link in a new window. Am I missing something, or is there any easy way to add this with code somehow, or any plans to add this feature?
