  1. paul2009's post in 2 Products per row on Mobile view was marked as the answer
You no longer need code to achieve this because Squarespace have just added this as a feature to Squarespace 7.1. If you've used code to add two columns, it will be safer to remove this and use the built-in feature instead.
To access this feature, go to your Store page and click Edit.
Put the preview into Mobile View (using the buttons in the top-right corner) and then click Edit Section. You’ll be able to update your mobile column layout to two columns instead of one.
Having two columns on mobile (instead of one) typically increases sales by 18%.

Note that this setting only affects the style of the mobile page. You can independently adjust the number of columns in the desktop layout by putting the preview into Desktop View.

  2. paul2009's post in Car rental booking websites was marked as the answer
I don't think Squarespace is a suitable platform for a car rental website. It would usually require a more bespoke solution. As this is a Squarespace forum, I don't have any recommendations.
  3. paul2009's post in Membership Areas for Online Beauty Directory Site? was marked as the answer
This isn't something that I would recommend building on Squarespace.
You could do what you said, but it would be an entirely manual process that would need to be administered by the site owner. As you suggested, the professional could pay their member fee and then submit their data through a separate form after signup. However, this would require a lot of manual administration effort by your client because this data would not be submitted directly to the website page content. Each profile would need to be added/updated and, if they leave, deleted manually by your client because professionals would not have the ability to edit their own.

  4. paul2009's post in Should you backup data such as linked files before updating from 7.0 to 7.1? was marked as the answer
When you do an in-place upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1 using the automated tool, all linked files remain in place and should not be affected. The keyword here is “should”. I’d always recommend having a back up of your files.
  5. paul2009's post in Payment facility for a changing amount was marked as the answer
It is possible to use third party payment embeds to take payments but there are a couple of downsides:
The payments will not be processed within Squarespace, so won't be available in Squarespace reporting. Customers may type the wrong amount. An alternative method is to create invoices for the amounts due and then send links to the customer that allow them to click a link to pay online, prompting them for the correct amount. With Squarespace Invoicing you can send invoices and payment reminders directly from Squarespace and the payments can be tracked there too.

  6. paul2009's post in cannot adjust block and section height adequately was marked as the answer
When the bottom line turns red, this is indicating that you've reached the limit for reducing the height of the block, due to the size of the content. You'll need to edit the contents of the block, to reduce the block height further.

  7. paul2009's post in Mobile Announcement Bar Text is overlapping was marked as the answer
    Hi @Nancygallardo562
Try setting the length of the announcement to be long enough for the entire message. If the space for the message is not long enough to accommodate it, the text will wrap. Normally, this would cause the text to wrap onto two lines but, as you have set the line-height to 0px, it wraps on top of the existing text.
    @media screen and (max-width: 990px) { .sqs-announcement-bar p {     width: 900px; } } Did this help? Please give feedback by clicking an icon below  ⬇️

  8. paul2009's post in Hidden Payment Processing Page was marked as the answer
    January 2022:
Squarespace doesn't have a standalone payment form. If customers are purchasing products or services that have specific prices, you can create items on a 'Store' page so that customers can pay for them.
If this isn't suitable for your situation you'll need to use an alternative third-party solution.
For example if you are already using Stripe then you may want to consider Stripe Invoicing. If you have a Stripe account you can create, customise, and send a Stripe-hosted invoice in minutes - all from the Stripe Dashboard with no code required. Take a look at the No-code quickstart guide.
If you need to embed it in your own website then services like PayForm are available.
    August 2023:
Squarespace has released Squarespace Invoicing. You can now send invoices and payment reminders directly from Squarespace.

  9. paul2009's post in Expired/Old Events was marked as the answer
If Show past events is disabled, the public version of the Events page should only show upcoming events. This will automatically update whenever the page is visited. The events are not deleted and will still be available on the backend to allow you to edit them and reuse them in the future.

  10. paul2009's post in Sold Out labels not showing in drop-down menu was marked as the answer
I wasn't able to check your site because you didn't provide a link to the page on your site, but I can confirm this feature is currently working on other sites. Here's an example:

If you have performed basic troubleshooting (refreshed the page, checked that stock levels of some variants are zero) then please contact Squarespace Customer Care directly.

  11. paul2009's post in Custom image layouts like 7.0 for 7.1 was marked as the answer
It sounds like you are using a Fluid Engine Page Section? If you add a Classic Page Section to your 7.1 site, you'll be able to enjoy the same "LayoutEngine" page layout as you did in 7.0. When adding a new Page Section, you'll find the classic option buried at the end of the list, like this:

  12. paul2009's post in Cart Number Changing from 1 to 0 When Exiting Cart was marked as the answer
You shouldn't need code. This issue is occuring because your third party cookie management solution appears to be blocking one or more of the Squarespace cookies that are 'essential' for the cart. These include 'CART' and 'hasCart'. When you've configured your cookie software so that it does not block these, you should be able to test it successfully 🙂.

  13. paul2009's post in Deleting/removing a Google Workspace Seat was marked as the answer
    Hi Henry
You will keep the deleted seats for the remainder of the billing period. You cannot get a refund unless you cancel the seat within the 15-day renewal window (Squarespace charge Google Workspace renewal payments 15 days before the renewal date).

  14. paul2009's post in Remove pagination/create infinite scroll on blog page was marked as the answer
Blog pages don't offer infinite scrolling. You'd need to use a Summary Block to display the blog posts. A paid plugin is available to make them "lazy load" called Lazy Summaries. (This is an affiliate link for a product I use and love. If you make a purchase I may receive a small commission.)
  15. paul2009's post in Can my customers use gift card purchased from my online boutique in my Acuity Scheduling for appointment ? was marked as the answer
Squarespace websites have Gift Cards whereas Acuity Scheduling has Gift Certificates. They cannot be used interchangeably.
If you want to sell Gift Certificates for use on Scheduling, you'll need to sell the Acuity version. Please see Creating packages, gift certificates, and subscriptions for more details.

  16. paul2009's post in Warning in analytics " Analytics is likely inaccurate due to disabled cookies." was marked as the answer
Please provide a link to the site and, ideally, a screenshot of your cookie banner settings so we can take a look 🙂.
The warning message is correct if you've selected the Opt-in & Out setting because, when cookies are disabled, the website cannot drop a cookie to track unique visitors (over a two year period) or drop a cookie to track visits (over a 30-minute browsing period).
If your cookies are enabled then I encourage you to inform Squarespace directly by raising a ticket through Squarespace Customer Support.

  17. paul2009's post in Inventory shortcut on editor home page missing after latest update. was marked as the answer
Squarespace are currently making a series of changes to the navigation to ensure the platform is more intuitive, both for new and existing customers. They have moved a number of items into a larger Settings panel, but they have also renamed some navigation items.
Inventory has been renamed Products and you'll currently find it in Commerce > Products (although this may change again soon). You cannot add Products as Menu Shortcut.

No. This is not currently possible.
  19. paul2009's post in Cookie Question was marked as the answer
There are a few things worth mentioning but first I should say that cookie laws* are a legal minefield and as I'm not a lawyer, this is intended as a friendly discussion rather than legal advice. 🙂
From my experience, if you're building a website you should ensure that you have a cookie banner and it is configured to have Opt-in & Out options so visitors from the UK, Europe (or other territories that have strict privacy laws) can decline your site’s analytics cookies because in the eyes of the law they aren't strictly necessary.
When analytics cookies are off or have been rejected the new visitor count will be artificially inflated because the analytics won't be able to differentiate between a previous visitor and a new one.
You can ensure the opt-out option is available to visitors as follows (or by reading this guide😞
Go to Settings > Cookies & Visitor Data. Check Enable Cookie Banner is toggled on. In the Cookie Banner Type section, ensure Opt-in & Out is selected (not Opt-in!) Click Save if you have made any changes.
If your client does not want a cookie banner they should ensure analytics cookies are always disabled, by toggling on the Disable Squarespace Analytics Cookies option (see below) to always disable them.

In practice this is often almost the same as offering the reject option because 90%+ of visitors will click reject if it is a clear and available option.

    *Some background notes
In the UK, there are several laws relevant to cookies, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the Data Protection Act (DPA). This can make it a challenge to understand! Our Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is there to improve the information rights practices of organisations by gathering and dealing with concerns raised by members of the public. They do their best to make sense of this for businesses and they explain that "cookies used for analytics purposes, eg to count the number of unique visits to a website aren't strictly necessary and would need consent". They also say "Enabling a non-essential cookie without the user taking a positive action before it is set on their device does not represent valid consent". That's why it is important to offer the opt-out.

  20. paul2009's post in PRICE shows wrong was marked as the answer
Yes, this isn't a Squarespace issue. It is being caused by the custom JavaScript that you've added to tweak the price formatting. If you remove the code (from code injection), the problem will go away.
  21. paul2009's post in Can Members upload Content to 'Members Only Area' was marked as the answer
This isn’t currently possible. Uploads are not possible and there is no concept of content that is specific to a user.
  22. paul2009's post in Adding a signature block into the forms was marked as the answer
This isn't currently possible with Squarespace Forms. You'll need to use a third party form like Jotform that has 'widgets' that allow you to collect legally binding e-signatures and approvals.

  23. paul2009's post in Multi page forms was marked as the answer
Squarespace forms weren't designed for this purpose. It will be easier and more robust to do this with a third party form like Typeform, InvolveMe or Jotform (these are affiliate links for products I've tested and used. If you make a purchase I may receive a tiny commission. All opinions remain my own).

  24. paul2009's post in Hide Cookie Banner on a specific page was marked as the answer
Technically it is possible to hide it but if your site is using cookies, it probably isn't legal to do so.
As cookies will be downloaded when a visitor lands on this page, the cookie banner should appear here too, giving visitors the opportunity to opt out.
[I don't pretend to be a lawyer. This is not legal advice. I'm writing this from my perspective as a web designer. 🙂]
  25. paul2009's post in Product Page: Customizing the variant button was marked as the answer
Sure. Your secondary buttons are set as white text on a green background. However, variant buttons use the Secondary Button Text Color for the button text and the button border, with a transparent background when not selected and not hovered. This gives you the white variant buttons with white text on a white background.
As a workaround you could change the color settings secondary buttons (green text with a green border) or use some Custom CSS to override the settings. For example, this will set the text and border to the background color (green):

    /************************************** Style Variant Buttons when secondary buttons use light text on a dark background. CSS fix by SF Digital **************************************/ .ProductItem-details .variant-radiobtn-wrapper label { color: var(--secondaryButtonBackgroundColor); border-color: var(--secondaryButtonBackgroundColor); } .ProductItem-details .variant-radiobtn-wrapper input[type="radio"]:checked+label { color: var(--secondaryButtonTextColor); background-color: var(--secondaryButtonBackgroundColor); } Does this help to explain?
