  1. paul2009's post in Shipping Options was marked as the answer
Carrier-calculated shipping is only available in the US and uses full retail rates. Squarespace don’t support custom negotiated rates with carriers.
If calculated rates in a test or live order seem high, you can check them against the UPS rate calculator. If you have questions about how a specific shipping price was calculated, you can contact Squarespace Customer Care for help.
A range of third party shipping "extensions" are available, so it may be worth looking at these.

  2. paul2009's post in Onboarding contacts from CRM into SquareSpace was marked as the answer
No, sadly not. Squarespace Email Campaigns is a fairly new* feature of the Squarespace platform and doesn't yet have enterprise features for managing lists of this size.

  3. paul2009's post in Can I backdate from version 7.1 to 7? was marked as the answer
You cannot downgrade a site from 7.1 to 7.0, but you can start a new trial on version 7.0 using one of the templates here:
    https://www.squarespace.com/templates/browse/v7/all-templates
That said, I would recommend starting a new website in 2024 on one of the version 7.1 templates. New features are not being released on older templates.

  4. paul2009's post in Payment processors in Canada was marked as the answer
    This isn’t correct.
The built in Stripe integration can be used for all products purchased online.
That said, Squarespace doesn’t have an in-person (POS) solution for use in Canada yet.
  5. paul2009's post in CookieYes integration was marked as the answer
Have you used the cookie scanner in CookieYes to identify all the essential, first party, Squarespace cookies? CookieYes (or any third party cookie management tool you use) must correctly categorise the necessary cookies otherwise they won't be allowed to load, and essential functionality will break. Examples of essential cookies include:
CART Commerce-checkout-state (when using PayPal) crumb hasCart orderStatusSessionToken RecentRedirect squarespace-announcement-bar squarespace-popup-overlay Test It is equally important to correctly categorise the other (non-essential) cookies so they don't load unless the user consents to their use. If you don't do this correctly, the non-essential cookies will load without consent, and this makes it pointless using a cookie consent tool.
You'll find more details in the guide entitled The cookies Squarespace uses.

  6. paul2009's post in Embedded iframe - display on 7.0 version perfect, same code, display on 7.1 terrible, can you help? was marked as the answer
@MrSidReal In order to make your embedded iframe responsive, I would wrap it in a div and apply some CSS. Here's an example, showing it adapting in 7.1:

    <div style="height:900px;position:relative; display:block; width:100%"> <iframe width="100%" height="100%" src='https://www.timetap.com/emb/123456' frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" style="position:absolute;top:0;left:0"> </iframe> </div> Did this help?

  7. paul2009's post in category filters have disappeared was marked as the answer
It takes a while to understand the differences between templates and versions. On Brine-family templates, you'll find the setting in Design > Site Styles.
The Site Styles panel is 'interactive' so it only shows settings for features that are visible in the preview. For this reason, first ensure you are viewing your Store (the Product List Page). Next, look through the styles until you see the PRODUCTS: SORT + FILTER section:

Change the Display option from Hide to Top, Left Side or Right Side.

  8. paul2009's post in Address Field not Auto Completing was marked as the answer
The Squarespace Scheduling address auto-suggest feature was not provided by Google but by a third party API. The third party product was recently discontinued which is why the feature no longer exists within Scheduling. Hopefully Squarespace will consider restoring the feature using an alternative service.
The autocomplete feature in the Google Places library of the Maps API is not affected and will continue to function wherever this is being used.
  9. paul2009's post in Error- UNABLE TO REMOVE ITEM was marked as the answer
When trying to delete an item from the cart on your site, I see a 403 error which indicates that Squarespace understands the request but refuses to authorise it.
As a first step, I recommend checking that SSL is enabled because the site isn't currently secure You'll find this in Settings >Developer Tools > SSL. Certificate Status should be 'Active' and the Security Preference should be set to 'Secure'.

  10. paul2009's post in Looking for help with custom CSS to hide product names on shop category page but not on each product page. was marked as the answer
I misread your question - sorry 🫢. You should be able to hide the product titles on all Product List Pages (PLPs) with this:
.products.collection-content-wrapper .grid-main-meta .grid-title { display: none; } Did this help? Please give feedback by clicking an icon below  ⬇️

  12. paul2009's post in Change Subscription Pricing was marked as the answer
I'd love to see changes to both! Unfortunately, although these issues have been discussed with Squarespace, there is no news on when (or if) these will change.
You can increase the price for new subscriptions but you cannot increase the price of existing subscriptions or memberships.
I've been advocating for this for four-and-a-half-years and have submitted a feature request here (Circle members only). I would love to see this prioritised.
Squarespace employees don't routinely monitor this forum for feedback (see the guidelines - item 7) so it's important for anyone affected to raise a feature request formally through Squarespace Customer Support. Circle members can also upvote my request for this feature.

  14. paul2009's post in Move Booqable "add to cart" button to a different location was marked as the answer
For an easy initial installation, and reduced admin overhead, I'd recommend adding the "List of Products" element into a blank new page/section. This will list all your rental products (like the Squarespace Product List Page) and will allow users to click a product to read the Booqable version of a Product Detail Page.

This avoids having to add Booqable "Product Buttons" elements to individual Squarespace Products, and then write code to move them into the right position and hide the respective Squarespace elements.

  15. paul2009's post in Why can’t I have AFTERPAY on digital download items was marked as the answer
@Chantelle-Blossom There are no workarounds for this.
Afterpay can only be used on orders where a shipping address has been provided. This means it is only available for physical products being shipped.
It is not available for orders:
containing digital download products containing service products using local pickup containing subscription products The same applies to Clearpay in the UK. Personally, I don't think that anyone in the industry draws enough attention to limitations like this or their charges.
I appreciate this is not what you wanted to hear, but I hope this saves you time looking for a solution that doesn't exist.

  16. paul2009's post in Flashing Help Screen was marked as the answer
This can happen in any browser and is due to the SSO redirect that Squarespace have added which attempts to use your Squarespace login details with their ticketing system.
One way to avoid this is to open help from an incognito/private browsing window where you aren't logged into Squarespace. For more detailed information, see my post how to contact Squarespace.

  19. paul2009's post in Hide Pricing Until Customer Login? was marked as the answer
Here's an example that hides the price and other elements when products are tagged with a tag called "hidden". This isn't production-ready code, but it should get you started. Add to the Code Injection Footer.
    <!-- Hide Prices for products tagged 'hidden' on Squarespace 7.1 ---------------------------> <!-- Copyright Soundfocus Digital [sf.digital] ---------------------------------------------> <!-- Use freely in your code injection. Do NOT re-publish.----------------------------------> <script> function MemberPricing() {   logged_in = UserAccountApi.isUserAuthenticated() || false;   if (!logged_in) {     var priceElements = document.querySelectorAll('.hentry.tag-hidden .grid-prices .product-price, .hentry.tag-hidden .ProductItem-product-price .product-price');     priceElements.forEach(function (priceElement) {       priceElement.style.display = 'none';       var quantityInputElements = document.querySelectorAll('.product-quantity-input');       quantityInputElements.forEach(function (quantityInputElement) {         quantityInputElement.style.display = 'none';       });       var addToCartButtonWrapperElements = document.querySelectorAll('.sqs-add-to-cart-button-wrapper');       addToCartButtonWrapperElements.forEach(function (buttonWrapperElement) {         buttonWrapperElement.style.display = 'none';       });       var productVariantsElements = document.querySelectorAll('.product-variants');       productVariantsElements.forEach(function (variantsElement) {         variantsElement.style.display = 'none';       });       var loginMessageElement = document.createElement('div');       loginMessageElement.className = 'price-message';       loginMessageElement.textContent = 'Please login for price';       var productPriceContainer = priceElement.closest('.ProductItem-product-price, .grid-prices');       if (productPriceContainer) {         productPriceContainer.appendChild(loginMessageElement);       }     });   } } document.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded", MemberPricing); </script> <!-- End of Hide Prices -------------------------------------------------------------------->
  20. paul2009's post in 2 Products per row on Mobile view was marked as the answer
You no longer need code to achieve this because Squarespace have just added this as a feature to Squarespace 7.1. If you've used code to add two columns, it will be safer to remove this and use the built-in feature instead.
To access this feature, go to your Store page and click Edit.
Put the preview into Mobile View (using the buttons in the top-right corner) and then click Edit Section. You’ll be able to update your mobile column layout to two columns instead of one.
Having two columns on mobile (instead of one) typically increases sales by 18%.

Note that this setting only affects the style of the mobile page. You can independently adjust the number of columns in the desktop layout by putting the preview into Desktop View.

  21. paul2009's post in Car rental booking websites was marked as the answer
I don't think Squarespace is a suitable platform for a car rental website. It would usually require a more bespoke solution. As this is a Squarespace forum, I don't have any recommendations.
  22. paul2009's post in Membership Areas for Online Beauty Directory Site? was marked as the answer
This isn't something that I would recommend building on Squarespace.
You could do what you said, but it would be an entirely manual process that would need to be administered by the site owner. As you suggested, the professional could pay their member fee and then submit their data through a separate form after signup. However, this would require a lot of manual administration effort by your client because this data would not be submitted directly to the website page content. Each profile would need to be added/updated and, if they leave, deleted manually by your client because professionals would not have the ability to edit their own.

  23. paul2009's post in Should you backup data such as linked files before updating from 7.0 to 7.1? was marked as the answer
When you do an in-place upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1 using the automated tool, all linked files remain in place and should not be affected. The keyword here is “should”. I’d always recommend having a back up of your files.
  24. paul2009's post in Payment facility for a changing amount was marked as the answer
It is possible to use third party payment embeds to take payments but there are a couple of downsides:
The payments will not be processed within Squarespace, so won't be available in Squarespace reporting. Customers may type the wrong amount. An alternative method is to create invoices for the amounts due and then send links to the customer that allow them to click a link to pay online, prompting them for the correct amount. With Squarespace Invoicing you can send invoices and payment reminders directly from Squarespace and the payments can be tracked there too.

  25. paul2009's post in cannot adjust block and section height adequately was marked as the answer
When the bottom line turns red, this is indicating that you've reached the limit for reducing the height of the block, due to the size of the content. You'll need to edit the contents of the block, to reduce the block height further.
