  1. paul2009's post in Product Custom Forms Not Working on 7.1 was marked as the answer
This is due to custom code snippets that you've added, including at least three versions of jQuery which shouldn't be there and could slow down your site unnecessarily.
I recommend you remove all the code (from Code Injection) and then test again. The problem should disappear. you can then carefully add code one section at a time until you identify which section is causing the problem. I do recommend being very cautious about installing code that you don't understand as it could affect your site's reliability and security.
  2. paul2009's post in How to setup shop selector to show only available items was marked as the answer
This isn't possible when you have more than one variant option (for example size and colour).
I appreciate this isn't what you want to hear, but hopefully an accurate answer is better than no answer.

  3. paul2009's post in Buy button says 'Code Removed' was marked as the answer
It sounds like you may have added the code during the free trial and then signed up for a Personal Plan. Is that right?
Personal Plans are not suitable for selling because they don’t allow code.
If you are on a Personal Plan you will need to upgrade to a Business Plan.
  4. paul2009's post in Trying to replicate a site setup I came across, getting stuck. was marked as the answer
It's true that the site you are referring to is a Squarespace 7.0 Developer Mode site, which means it is infinitely more customisable than Squarespace 7.1. However, for the lightbox effect, take a look at the Lightbox Anything plugin from SqspThemes.
  5. paul2009's post in Gallery Grid Caption format was marked as the answer
@pirwin and @olivianearle, I wrote a guide some time ago that explains how to split Gallery titles into two lines. You'll find it here:

  7. paul2009's post in Remove dash in front of blockquote source was marked as the answer
You should be able to hide it easily by setting the colour of the em dash character as transparent using some Custom CSS:
.sqs-block-quote .source::first-letter {  color: transparent; }   If this post has helped you, please click a 'Like' or 'Thanks' icon below  ⬇️
  8. paul2009's post in Change language in the shop was marked as the answer
You've typed these variant names in yourself. You can change them by using the product composer. Note that it's easier to do this using the old composer, not the new one. See Editing Products.
  9. paul2009's post in Local Delivery Options was marked as the answer
    Hi Kelli
I hear you. This is one of the major limitations of Squarespace Commerce that makes it less suitable for these types of local delivery businesses. The bad news is that this feature isn't likely to be added to Squarespace any time soon. It's been on my list of commerce limitations for three years and I think it's likely to remain unresolved for a long time to come.
If you'd like to provide me with details of the sites, I'd love to take a look at them and see if anything can be done. In my experience, not all "local delivery" problems are the same. Each store will have their own specific challenges. Some clients only require a relatively simple way to filter out addresses by postcode, whereas others require delivery time slots or complex solutions that limit the number of orders per time-slot, with exceptions on certain days and so on.
Regarding, Shopify, I'd argue that Buy Buttons have their place in the market, but they aren't a 'silver bullet'. They will allow you to dip your toe into the feature rich (and therefore steep learning curve of) Shopify but you'll need to move to the full Shopify platform to take advantage of local delivery features that you're looking for.
  10. paul2009's post in Password Attributes was marked as the answer
No. On Squarespace, users have control over their password. It can be between 6 and 40 characters, with any combination of letters, numbers, and symbols. You cannot apply limitations or enforce security best practices.
  11. paul2009's post in In-price VAT isn't being calculated properly was marked as the answer
The Squarespace calculation sounds right to me 😎.
    39,84€ + 23% VAT @ 9,16€ is 49€
  12. paul2009's post in Going from trial to paid: When does/did 5-day limit on domain name change start? was marked as the answer
If you want to change the built-in domain (the one that ends in .squarespace.com) then you can do this at any time.
If you have purchased a domain name (to use as the primary domain name) and you wish to change your mind, Squarespace offer a five-day grace period. After this, you cannot cancel your domain.
  13. paul2009's post in Stop selling service product tickets ahead of an event was marked as the answer
Squarespace products can be scheduled to appear, but not be scheduled to be removed. You'd need to manually hide the product (or set stock to zero) at the appropriate time.

  14. paul2009's post in Broken images / Site Security Warning was marked as the answer
Yes, there's a massive risk in trusting an expired certificate. I certainly don't recommend it.
Please see my post here for further information. In summary, update your operating system (OS) and your browser.

  15. paul2009's post in Using Squarespace to build a squarespace circle was marked as the answer
Specialist discussion forum products are better for this. That’s why Squarespace built the Circle using Invision Community rather than Squarespace. Other popular choices include Discourse and Insided.
  16. paul2009's post in Non-Breaking Hyphens was marked as the answer
    On Mac or Windows?
On Mac, you can press Ctrl-Cmd-Space to launch the Character Viewer and then select the non-breaking hyphen. I have added it to my favourites within the Character Viewer so it's easy to find.

  18. paul2009's post in Member Login in navigation change to button - Brine was marked as the answer
You can change these with some CSS that you'll add to Design > Custom CSS.
Addressing the alignment issue first, you can fix this by adding some margin along the bottom of the sign-in link.
.Header-account.loaded .user-accounts-text-link {     margin-bottom: .309em; } Once the link is aligned, you can add some background color and some padding to make the link look like a button. You didn't say how you wanted it to look, so I've assumed that you want to match the buttons on the banner image. These have rounded edges, so you'll also need to set a border radius. If you add these to the CSS above, it should look something like this:
.Header-account.loaded .user-accounts-text-link {     margin-bottom: .309em;     background-color: #dec29c;     border-color: #dec29c;     padding: 17px 21px;     border-radius: 300px; } The link should now look like a button, but it doesn't change when you hover over it. To include this effect (and to match your other buttons) add the following CSS too:
.user-accounts-text-link:hover {      opacity: .8; }  Note that due to a bug on Squarespace (Feb 2021) you may need to save and close the CSS panel before you'll be able to hover over the button to see this effect. Hopefully this bug will be fixed soon!

The CSS above should take care of the link in the desktop nav. If you'd like to do the same with the link on mobile devices, you'll need to add some more CSS, but this time referring to the Mobile-bar. I've included some settings to make the link uppercase and reduce the font size slightly.
    .Mobile-bar-account.loaded .user-accounts-text-link {     background-color: #dec29c;     border-color: #dec29c;     padding: 17px 21px;     border-radius: 300px;     text-transform: uppercase;     font-size: 11px; }
    I hope this helps.
The instructions above are for a Squarespace 7.0 site using a Brine-family template. Other versions and templates will require different code.

  19. paul2009's post in Shipping API integration was marked as the answer
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you will not be able to do this. Squarespace only supports carrier-calculated shipping within the United States only, and only for a limited number of carriers - FedEx, UPS, and USPS.
The best you'll be able to achieve is weight-dependent shipping, which lets you set shipping charges based on the total order weight.
  20. paul2009's post in Connecting SecurePay to Squarespace was marked as the answer
It isn’t possible to do this. A Developer cannot integrate any third-party payment API into Squarespace yet. They’ll need to use a different e-commerce platform.
  21. paul2009's post in How do I link Square/Squarespace inventory was marked as the answer
You can do this with a Squarespace Extension called Trunk Inventory. However, it isn't cheap.
  22. paul2009's post in Checkout API integration for DDP / VAT calculator for new EU IOSS rules, sending from UK. was marked as the answer
    This isn't possible.
Squarespace is a 'website builder', and whilst this means that you can produce a professional-looking website very easily without technical knowledge, it also means that you do not have access to the technical areas that would allow you to integrate something with the checkout process.
If this feature is important to your business, I recommend you contact Squarespace Customer Care to log your concern about the delay for this feature. The more they hear from customers who are affected by missing features, the easier it is for them to prioritise them.
  23. paul2009's post in Hiding Products from Google was marked as the answer
Store pages don't have a Hide from Search Engines toggle, so if you really want to hide products from Google, you'll need to manually add a 'noindex' tag manually to the Page Header Code Injection in page settings. Adding this to a Store page will also hide the products within this store page.
For more details see: Hiding pages from search engine results.
  24. paul2009's post in DNS pointing to a dk domain was marked as the answer
When your domain name is hosted by a third-party provider, you can connect it to your Squarespace site by following a process called domain mapping.
To do this, you'll need to edit the DNS settings using the control panel of your third-party provider. The settings are documented in this Squarespace guide, but if you aren't sure how to apply these, I recommend you contact the support team at domain hosting company.
  25. paul2009's post in Link to embed for newsletter signup/email capture? was marked as the answer
Squarespace has a Newsletter Block that allows visitors to sign up to a Squarespace Mailing List using  Campaigns.
Can you explain why this isn't suitable or provide an example of how you want it to work?
