😜 I was making it harder than needed. Worked perfectly! Thank you so much!!!!

nwhittlesey reacted to creedon in remove homepage from navigation
Use the exact code from my October 15, 2021 post. You added the full URL for the href attribute which won't work.
You should also remove, make a copy somewhere, any other attempts at this effect as you don't want code working at cross purposes to each other.
Let us know how it goes.

nwhittlesey reacted to tchandler in remove homepage from navigation
thanks @Amaya_SQSP and @derricksrandomviews
i'm hoping for a solution that doesn't change the flow and setup of the site. the current setup works for me-- i want a single page, parallax scrolling site. moving the homepage out of the index changes that, as does creating a landing page. basically i want the site exactly as it is, minus the 'home' link on the nav bar. there has to be a way to just remove the 'home' link from the nav bar without changing anything else. maybe css? thoughts?
thanks again!

nwhittlesey reacted to tchandler in remove homepage from navigation
hey @creedon, i've been searching for a solution to this issue. i don't want to hide the page, i just don't want 'home' listed on the nav bar. moving the home page to 'not linked' moves the homepage out of my site's public facing structure. i want the site to remain as is, but just lose the 'home' link on the navbar. thoughts?
thanks!

nwhittlesey reacted to tuanphan in Mobile Information Bar - hide icon and increase font size

nwhittlesey reacted to PartTwoDesign in Mobile Information Bar - hide icon and increase font size
Site URL: https://sunflower-accordion-z2d3.squarespace.com/
I currently have the below code in Custom CSS:
// Floating Mobile Info Bar //
.sqs-mobile-info-bar {
background-color: #e33c31 !important;
border-radius: 100px;
margin: 5%;
width: 90%;
}
I've attached a visual of how this appears on mobile and how I'd like to change it i.e. hide the icon, increase the font, make the bar narrower but centred on the screen.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

nwhittlesey reacted to tuanphan in How to make product description appear on hover
Hi. Not possible. Product description doesn't appear on List Page, so there is no way to do hover effect with it.

nwhittlesey reacted to Jonny_B in How to make product description appear on hover
Hello!
I found this code that hides the product title and makes it appear upon hovering over the product image. I'm hoping there's a way to similarly make the product description appear upon hovering over the product image.
{.products.collection-content-wrapper .grid-item img{z-index: 0!important}
.products.collection-content-wrapper .grid-main-meta {z-index: 99!important; margin-top:-5rem; text-align:center; background: rgba(255,255,255,0.5); visibility:hidden; }
.grid-main-meta *{color:black!important;}
.products.collection-content-wrapper .grid-item:hover .grid-main-meta {visibility:visible}}
Thank you!

nwhittlesey reacted to Addcontext in Search Bar Not Working
Quick view on search is not displaying results every time, I might even say "usually." What is working on my sites is turning off "quick view" (so that the user has to hit the return bar. Then I'm seeing results every time.

nwhittlesey reacted to Sawapopup in Add Category to Breadcrumbs on Product Page
Site URL: http://sawapopup.squarespace.com
Hello - I'm using the Ventura template for an e-commerce platform. My site is not live yet.
I have an issue with the product page not displaying a detailed breadcrumbs trail. It only displays the main category (Shop) and the name of the product, without showing the product's category and sub-category in-between. Does anyone know of a custom code that can be injected to show the category and sub-category in the breadcrumbs trail?

nwhittlesey reacted to kindandbrave in Add Category to Breadcrumbs on Product Page
Site URL: https://www.littleboxes.shop/build
On the product page, category and subcategory are missing from the breadcrumbs. This is extremely frustrating, as this isn't a true breadcrumb if all it does is bring you back to the main page. Is there any workaround to show the full path with category (and subcategories if applicable) in the breadcrumb on the product detail page?
It now only shows:
Shop Home > Product Item But it needs to show:
Shop Home > Category > (Subcategory if applicable) > Product Item Any help? Thanks in advance!

nwhittlesey reacted to bbrog in Sell items by weight.
Site URL: https://www.freestonsdirect.co.uk/
Hi, looking to adapt some of our products to sell them by weight, i.e. 500g of carrots.
I can only find quantity as the selling option, and this has to be a whole number. I could adapt this to sell in Kilos or Pounds, but typically this requires fractions, i.e. 1.5Kg or 2.5Lb.
I haven't found a way to enable fractions, currently the quantity product box only accepts whole numbers. I could use grams but that's not very customer friendly, 2000g of potatoes is more commonly known as 2Kg and would cause some serious issues for the customer trying to shop like this.
Wondering if I can inject some header code to the product template, but it's not for every product, we'd still want to sell some in quantity.
Help!
Thanks in advance.

nwhittlesey reacted to Healsjnr in Does Version 7.1 support a Search Bar/Icon for the site's header?
From everything I've read it looks like the move to 7.1 (and removal of specific templates in favour of design styles) means header search is now gone. Same story with the Sidebar. Both features no longer seem to be supported which is super disappointing.
The irony is that the Squarespace's own sites use both of these features (header search and sidebar) heavily.
They are great features, please bring them back.

nwhittlesey reacted to AniaThorpe in Issues with Squarespace not collecting correct Tax rates
Hi!
I am at my wits end with trying to figure out a better way to set up sales taxes on my squarespace e-commerce page. I already know Squarespace unfortunately fails in this area majorly. I feel like I will have to move to a different platform if I cannot figure out some way of automating the sales tax calculation without having to enter a sales tax rate for every zip code/zip code range manually.
Does the TaxJar integration with Stripe Orders API solve the problem with sales tax calculation at check out by some miracle? Is anyone familiar with that? Any words of wisdom will be much appreciated!

I ended up just leaving SquareSpace to Shopify because of this. I am really bummed because the website builder is so much easier and cleaner looking, but it’s an absolute deal breaker to not have this done automatically. We shouldn’t need a plug-in for taxes. If they want to be an actual e-commerce platform they have to figure this out. I tried working w TaxJar - they’re really nice, but it didn’t work yet and I don’t have time to wait it out.

nwhittlesey reacted to Megan_S in Issues with Squarespace not collecting correct Tax rates
Literally having the exact same issue. Trying to set up different options for quite a few things, and it's not viable. Taxes are a huge issue that I wasn't even aware of, since this is my first e-commerce go-around. I also spoke with TaxJar, and they didn't mention anything about an integration for tax calculation. I want to wait and see if they set it up, but I don't think can wait. Nervous about shopify, though...

nwhittlesey reacted to justandyv in Issues with Squarespace not collecting correct Tax rates
I am furious at squarespace about this. I would have never spent all this money and all this time building a site if I knew about this tax situation. The support team won't even tell you if the site you made on their platform is legal. This is my first attempt with an online store and they won't explain what I need to do for taxes in NC per their terms and conditions. Told me to hire a tax advisor or lawyer. So I'm beyond lost and they refuse to help. I'm in the process of canceling my account and moving my domain. I don't want to wait weeks to maybe have a solution right before the holidays.
