I have background images (solid background with some corner floral graphics) I need to use on certain page sections but they keep showing noticeably lower quality. I'm saving out 2500px wide (Squarespace recommended) from Adobe Illustrator vector document.
It's very annoying, I never used to have this issue.

You are not alone. Even if you optimize all your images, you will still score poorly on Googles PageSpeed tests. Squarespace has a bunch of backed code that we can't optimize. They say they are working on it, but whenever this topic comes up all we hear is crickets, or "we are working on it." No timeline from Squarespace as to when this will be fixed, which is too bad.

Bottomline is, if you want a blazing fast website TODAY, then Squarespace is not the superior choice. Maybe in a few months they will release an update that solves this pain point.
If you are on Squarespace 7.0 then your site might be doing alright in real world tests, which you can see in your Search Console under "Page Experience" Google said themselves that they will take real world data over testing tool data. In my experience  7.0 sites are faster then 7.1 in the real world.

    Hey everyone!

Quick question: Launching my personal portfolio website on 7.1 and just needed the personal plan. Totally understand that there are no custom code blocks or injection on this plan, but didn't occur to me I wouldn't be able to implement JSON Schema markup into my site. Fully realize 7.1 sees it as Javascript, but this is kinda critical for SEO for many reasons. Does anyone know a way around this? How can I implement my JSON Schema markup on a 7.1 personal plan?
Big picture, I feel this could be implemented in the 7.1 backend by adding an "advanced" section to the marketing menu area where you can choose various Schema options such as @Type and image assets different than the ones Squarespace chooses. Would be an incredibly powerful option for folks on the personal plan and you wouldn't need to add Code Injection capabilities. A great resource to see how it should be implemented is on this page.
    Thanks everyone!
