alxfyv got a reaction from Lilian in How do I create a hover text over my grid gallery?
You might try copying and pasting this in Design > Custom CSS:
    /* ** in gallery grid, set a hover over slide effect to ** display slide title on partially transparent ** overlay */ .sqs-gallery.sqs-gallery-design-grid .slide .margin-wrapper .image-slide-title { position: absolute; bottom: 0; width: 100%; height: 0; color: white; background-color: rgba(194, 194, 163, .8); opacity: 0; transition: all .25s ease-in; } .sqs-gallery.sqs-gallery-design-grid .slide .margin-wrapper:hover .image-slide-title { height: 40%; opacity: .9; }
This should give you the effect, on hover over a slide, of a partially transparent overlay sliding up over the image and displaying the slide title.
Let me know whether this works and, if so, whether it's the type of effect you have in mind.

alxfyv got a reaction from Deliciouss_Services in Where do I add JavaScript?
The difference between Code Injection, Header/Footer, Code Block and Custom CSS can be explained as follows.
An HTML web page has two overarching parts to it. First is the Head (not to be confuse with a Header -- more about that later), Second is the Body. The Body is where all the HTML code that actually structures the page and provides the content goes. In the Head goes some special code such as the site Title, the character-set specification, some CSS code (most CSS code goes in a CSS style sheet which is a separate document), and things such as metadata and Javascript code.
Code Injection is SQSP's method of allowing you to insert custom code into the Head (and a couple of other places as well).
Within the Body, at the top and bottom, there is a Header and a Footer. These appear on every page of the site and contain information that you want to appear at the top and bottom of every page. For example, in the Footer you might put a Contact button, some social links, and your address and email address. You might also put some particular nav buttons that you want at the bottom of every page, not main nav but some few special nav buttons.
A Code Block is a block, like a text block, that you place at a particular point on a page. It contains HTML code for something you want to do at that point. The code is local to the page.
For example, see my site (www.familyhistoryconferencenwa.org at the bottom of the home page. There are two links, one jumps to the Registration page, the other pops up an email message with pre-filled Subject and Message Content and puts the cursor in the To field. These two links are Code Blocks and the HTML code that does these things is in the blocks.
CSS code is code that styles the HTML code. It affects the appearance of the content on the page. HTML puts the content on the page; CSS governs how it appears. This includes things such as font size and color, background color and images, how a link behaves on hover, etc.
The custom CSS editor is the means that SQSP provides for you to enter custom CSS code that you design to alter the way the Template is styled.
    I hope this helps.

I think what you want is this. Copy and paste Into custom CSS
a img.thumb-image:hover { background-color: #ffffff; opacity: 0.6;} This should give you a translucent white background on hover. Adjust opacity (min 0, max 1) up/down for less/more translucency. If at first it seems not to work, try
    background-color: #ffffff !important;opacity: 0.6 !important;Let me know what happens.

Hi there! Just wondering if anyone could help in regards to making a collapsible "click to reveal" type of text on this page for the text that isn't in bold font. Just to make the page less cluttered:

alxfyv reacted to nickdjeremiah in Can I reveal hidden text in a dropdown sort of way?
As seen in many FAQ pages, you can read a line of text, then click the text and it will reveal hidden text in a dropdown sort of way. In the footer of my website (Forte template) I have a copyright notice. I'd love to be able to click that line of text and have a more detailed prescript reveal underneath it.
Is there a way with Code Injection or a code block, much like making anchor links that this is possible?

alxfyv reacted to kateco in How do I center the text from my HTML code in Markdown?
I am trying to create a header featuring four links to reference points below on a page in my website. I've gotten the words appropriately spaced and I now only need to center the four words. I've attached a screenshot of my conundrum as my site is not yet live. I'd like the top four words (the HTML references) to match the bottom four words (just plain old text that is centered) Any help is appreciated!
