Susana_SQSP reacted to derricksrandomviews in How to build an engaging website that isn't image-focused?
Number one that comes to mind for me is a simple FAQ page, with or without anchors.
    https://waterclinicfl.com/faq
Put the text over a background image, make it the focal point. I did that in the same site I posted the link to.
Headlines become important,  they help grab the viewers  attention, so the text following  is read,
Also a page of technical info , for example  a company that sells computers or audio equipment could have a page of manuals and guides that can be read online and/or could be downloaded.

Designing a website with a lot of text-based information can be a challenge as big chunks of text can be off-putting to the reader. Often, we rely on imagery to draw the users' attention or help communicate a message. But what if we don't have or want to rely on imagery?

thank you! I went ahead and set up an automated email with a free download code. This method adds additional steps that do not streamline the purchase process, but it definitely helps! I appreciate your assistance.

Susana_SQSP reacted to Jo_SQSP in What advice would you give to someone just starting out on personal branding?
A cohesive brand is made up of many smaller decisions, from color palette to language used on social media. Where would you begin?
A product is never just a product, right? Choosing certain products or services is often done with the general experience we think they will provide in mind. The goal of branding overall is to stand out from the crowd, to have a name that will be remembered, preferred, and even admired.

Susana_SQSP reacted to derricksrandomviews in What are the 3 things that make you feel a website is polished and professional?
Depends a lot on what the site is about. What makes it professional to me is if it is successful at conveying the message. Does a hotel website make you wish to visit there?  Does an artist's site make you want to buy a work of art for sale on that site?  Does the site make you want to come and look at it again and again? The last part is made up of looks,  with a hook,  and how is it to navigate? Does it tell a story?  Better way to put that is What Story Does It Tell?
    1. Site should hook the viewer visually,
    2. Simple to Navigate,
    3. Tell (sell), a good story.
I think this one does all three:

    Great question @Jo_G!
    The deceptively simple answers are
    1. Compelling imagery
    2. Stylish copy
    3. Perfect functionality
Great design articulates ideas with zero clutter. The mistake most people make (even seasoned designers!) is not editing enough. Once you achieve elegance in form and function, your content can shine!

This week, we want to know what you think the most important finishing touches are on a website.
There are all kinds of websites out there, and it’s no secret that some feel more professional than others. There are so many features to take into consideration when building your website, and so many ways to tweak it to make it just right! Colors, fonts, banners, navigation… the list is endless.

@LRKIf your customers won't need to pay for the digital product that you'd like to "attach" to the physical product and so you can have the process of sending the digital product automated, you might want to have a look into using Email Campaigns and setting up an automated campaign. As a note, Automated campaigns are available on some Email Campaigns plans. Check out this Squarespace help article for more details:

Susana_SQSP reacted to RobPegurri in How are you preparing your website for the holiday season?
We've implemented a free gift wrapping option in the checkout with the possibility to write a custom message. We did it because many people won't have the possibility to give presents in person this year (in Italy at least).
We said our gift options were free for the occasion, but to tell the truth it is the only way to do that as in Squarespace it's impossible to implement paid add-ons in the checkout.
We changed our "Sale" label to "Black Friday" for the black friday sale week and we colored it black. That's mainly it, all with some Mailchimp newsletters

No need to use CSS. You need to adjust layout a bit
First, add Image 1, text 1, image 2, text 2
    Next, add Line Block
Next, add Image 3, text 3, image 4, text 4
    Next, add Line Block
    ...
    Then remove all Line Blocks.
    Done.

Hey @veganedge! The tool is useful when coding your own site, but can present misleading results for sites built on a CMS platform, like Squarespace. You can find some information on this here:

    https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/206545657#toc-google-s-pagespeed-insights-errors

There is also a great guide on formatting images for web here, if you want to check it out:

Susana_SQSP reacted to violettag in 7.1 Duplicating or Saving Sections
Hey @L_Avec! The feature you are looking for has recently been added. You can now duplicate a section on Squarespace 7.1 by using a duplicate icon next to the little pencil icon. You can find more information about this here:

    https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/206543627-Duplicating-pages-and-content#toc-duplicate-a-page-section
You cannot duplicate a collection section, but all the content from the layout section will be duplicated on the same page.
    Hope this helps!

Susana_SQSP got a reaction from Nalvarez in How to add a text only slider section
    Hi Nalvarez,
While there isn't a built-in feature to setup a text slider, you may want to consider the following workarounds:
    a) Setting up your text as images on a third party service and then upload those images to a gallery section that you can set to be a slideshow.
    b) Split your text in between several posts in a Blog Page. You may want to add the text as the post title and/or excerpt and then use a Carousel Summary Block pulling content from the Blog Page. You'll be able to set the Summary Block to display the post excerpt if you would like.

Susana_SQSP reacted to paul2009 in Change text and language on the checkout page and all ecommerce pages from english to german
Squarespace do not offer a Norwegian language option yet. You'll find details of the supported languages here, as well as details of the templates that support them (some Squarespace 7.0 templates only support English).
If your site has been built in English, there's a third-party service that you can use called Weglot. It can translate into 100 different languages including Norwegian and it is the only product I know that can successfully translate the checkout page.
