OK. So I need to change the A record to point to me server IP. I don't seem able to change the default - can you tell me how to do that please? I have emailed, gone on the chat (always says too busy) and this forum is the only method I've had any response. But that's not gone quiet. How do I get in touch with anyone from SquareSpace?

Thanks for your reply. Can I just confirm that in order to point the domain name to the website on an external server the custom record should be... Host = @www (will this take emails away from SquareSpace in addition to the website?) Type=CNAME ALIAS DATA=(IP of my server?)
