But actually, @Ziggy and @CassAggett... now things go off of the screen on my own laptop. Please see the attached and let me know your thoughts.

I am building a prototype / first version of a website and want the hero section of my homepage to take up the entire screen on desktop. It does horizontally already... and it does vertically on my computer (see the attached screenshot) but I'm not sure it does on everyone's computer. Is there a way to design the page so that it does on everyone's computer? Thanks a lot for your help.

SQUARESPACE CSS SYNTAX ERROR LINE 4

Thank you very much, @paul2009. I am clear on things now. Think I do need to hide one of the pages -- but you saved me from wrongly feeling I need to do it basically on every page.- 6 replies

SQUARESPACE CSS SYNTAX ERROR LINE 4
ryangeftmangold replied to ryangeftmangold's topic in Customize with code
Thanks, @paul2009. I will take you up on your kind offer to review pages, etc., but let me first say that maybe I am under the wrong impression about how Desktop and Mobile design work on Squarespace. I am -- maybe wrongly -- under the impression that the two are connected and if I make a change on one it will have an effect on the other. Is that not true and changes made on one will not result in a change on the other?- 6 replies

SQUARESPACE CSS SYNTAX ERROR LINE 4
ryangeftmangold replied to ryangeftmangold's topic in Customize with code
Ha! Brilliant, @paul2009, thanks for spotting the quote issue. Again, I'm a newbie... and I would never have known. Guess I will copy the ones on Line 3 and use them throughout. On the second issue you raised -- and I really appreciate your doing it -- I wonder if there's a clear alternative approach. It does feel ridiculous and unsustainable to hide portions of a number of pages on a website. I am very much in a prototyping phase at the moment and having small groups of people use my site so I can do a combination of customer discovery to understand if anyone wants my vision of an idea and also understand where there are design improvements to be made. But at some point I'll be ready for prime time hopefully and wouldn't want to continue to do things the wrong way.- 6 replies

I am a website newbie. I read https://www.applet.studio/blog/hide-sections-on-moblie-squarespace and have been using it for guidance. I need to hide the Desktop version on mobile and the Mobile version of Desktop of different pages on my site. I downloaded https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/squarespace-id-finder/igjamfnifnkmecjidfbdipieoaeghcff?hl=en&pli=1 and have used it to see all of the section IDs I am concerned with. Attached is a screenshot of much of the code... and as you can see on the bottom of the screenshot, I have a syntax error of Line 4 of the code. I cannot figure it out... it follows the form in the article and also on Line 3 right above it. Would someone be kind enough to help me figure out what is going on? Thanks so much.

Never mind. I see how it works. Thanks for the help, @paul2009. I didn't think the info I got from Customer Service was right...

Thanks, @paul2009. Is it right that I can upgrade and just get a prorated charge for a partial month of the difference between Personal and Business?

I'm a website newbie and prototyping a project in order to do proper customer discovery. I am on a monthly Personal plan on Squarespace... and my current plan autorenews at the end of the month. I want to put Fullstory on my site -- there's some Squarespace-specific guidance on https://help.fullstory.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020624374-Squarespace -- and I want to do it today (which sounds like something Veruca Salt would say). I was told that I unfortunately need to wait until my autorenew date in order to upgrade to a Business plan and gain access to Code Injection, which isn't available to Personal plan. Question is... is there anything on https://help.fullstory.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020623514-Installing-the-Fullstory-Script (remember I'm a website newbie) that might allow for another way than Code Injection? https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205815928-Adding-custom-code-to-your-site#toc-ways-to-add-custom-code is more information about what's available on different plans in case it's helpful. I'd really appreciate any advice or guidance anyone could provide.

Thanks so much, @derricksrandomviews. I am attaching a screen shot. And, just for example, I can go from https://www.doctorsorders.xyz/ to https://www.doctorsorders.xyz/endocrine-and-metabolic-disorders on my laptop... but when I use my phone, I go from https://www.doctorsorders.xyz/ to https://doctors-orders.squarespace.com/endocrine-and-metabolic-disorders and I'm not sure why it transitions over to the Built-in Domain.

I'm a website newbie and happy with the progress I'm making for a prototype site. Doing things on my own for the first time. I successfully attached a domain I own and thought everything was in good shape... but I just noticed that Squarespace doesn't use the domain for webpages other than the homepage on mobile web. It does on desktop. Has anyone seen this before? I would love whatever guidance you could give me. :)
