  1. Dear @paul2009

here's a new warning just appeared to a different user when opening the link to the same website.

It says: This link looks suspicious. This links opens a website that might be harmful. Don’t open.

This is quite serious now. This one user is a friend of mine.
Imagine if a random customer would have to bump into this!
This e-commerce is never going to sell anything. It’s a failure from day 1.

Would you deliver a website with such an issue to a client of yours, given the potential impact on the company’s reputation should the same warning appear to other users, even sporadically, once the website is fully operational?

In any case, I asked the one user who encountered the first insecure warning, to carry out the following:

--- Open my own website, adrianaforconi.com, which is also hosted on the Squarespace platform, from the same computer and location — meaning the same network and internet service provider as when they encountered the insecure warning.
    — They were able to access my website without any insecure warning.

This clearly shows that the issue has nothing to do with the internet provider or firewall.

"Connection is not in private mode"

    Hello @paul2009 ,

this is what you get when you open the link of the homepage when sent by mail.

The same happens when you click on the link to verify the account you created while checking out.

Already contacted SS support and they have no solution.

This is clearly something that is beyond my control, that has nothing to do with my website design or injection of css code.

I do pay for a subscription and yet I don't have the right to have basic, structural functions such as SSL, I guess, to work properly.

If from Squarespace the would ask me for money to make this work, I would honestly pay because I am tired. How much do they want? I'm ready to pay.

  3. Same issue here? I wonder if all these bugs are deliberately not getting fixed by Squarespace in order to get people to hire their staff and make some extra profit.

Why we, customers, are never getting any solid answer from the Customer Care?

Has anyone checked Trustpilot about Squarespace?

Can we gather a number of customers from this Forum and rise up the volume a bit, please?

    Squarespace doesn't come cheap, guys!

  4. Same issue here. Did you found any solution?

I bought the domain www.luciaodescalchi.it directly on Squarespace more than 2 months ago. SSL is Secure and HSTS Secure.

Never done any transfer or redirect.

I have the same issue when I check out / sign up to create an account / fill in with my email / receive an email back to verify my account:

    1) that email goes into the spam

    2) when I click on the link to verify my account, it bounces me back to the website (which is already open on my browser btw) and the "Connection is not secure" alert shows up.

Contacted SS, they know nothing and are unwilling to help solving the problem, as usual.

    Hello there,

once more some basic functionality that is not working in Squarespace, I'm regretting the day I've opted for Squarespace.

Anyway only in the footer, the link icon in the text blocks tool bar is disabled so I can't add links.

Even if I add a section from the footer templates, with text block containing links in it, I am not able to modify the links because the link icon is nowhere to be seen. Shortcuts doesn't work either.

    Same in different browser.

Link icon for text blocks appears regularly in any other section except footer.

And it was working until a few days ago because I've already places a link before.

Please this is a basic function. This is really a fucking basic function!

    Is there a code workaround?

    Please!

  6. Dear @creedon

I've repeated the same process all over again but it is not working.

Would you be so nice to take a look at it?

In the shop I have 4 categories (necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets)

This is the shop page: www.luciaodescalchi.it/shop

I've already added 2 of the 4 banners that should hypothetically been associated with each of the 4 categories.

When I go to Earrings, I should see the earrings banner only.

    But no banner show up.

While in shop none of them is hidden.

    Many thanks for your help!

    Adriana

  7. I am posting here an email just received from SS Customer Care which is quite useless, frankly.

To me this just mean that we better abandon the idea to include any video. This feature is just a scam.

    Hi there,

It's Noah, from the Squarespace chat that we had earlier on. I'd just like to follow up on what we were discussing regarding your query.

Just for a bit more context here, we do suggest following our video formatting requirements when uploading videos:

    https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/206542397-Adding-videos-to-your-site#toc-option-2---upload-videos

It is possible to use an HD video as a background video - in fact, we recommend a resolution of 1080p and a bitrate of at least 3 Mbps when it comes to background videos. For more design tips specifically for background videos, see:

    https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/218562738-Adding-background-videos#toc-design-tips

However, in general, we recommend keeping page size below 5 MB to ensure your content loads optimally. Because your page is larger in size (14 MB) this will have a direct impact on video quality and other aspects of page loading.

For more information and tips on reducing page size, check out our guide here:

    https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022529371-Reducing-your-page-size-for-faster-loading

In addition to the above tips, we recommend being mindful of the page content on a whole. Additional factors that play into page size include image file size, custom code, and the amount of blocks and sections on a page. For more tips on reducing page size, see:

    https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022529371-Reducing-your-page-size-for-faster-loading#toc-reduce-your-page-size

Please let me know if there's anything else we can answer for you - we're here 24/7 and always happy to help.

    Best,

    Noah B.

  8. Hello there,

I just bumped into this thread. I have the same issue here.
    I have a shop with:

    - earrings / necklaces / brecelets ----- which in my book are CATEGORIES

    - Jewellery Seasons, like in fashion, so these earrings / necklaces / brecelets belongs to Jewellery Seasons ---- which could also be CATEGORIES

My problem here is that I'm trying to have a different banner/section for each category.

I tried the 'Store Page List Category Section Reveal' process but it doesn't seem to work (https://github.com/tomsWebConsulting/twcsl/tree/main/v7.1/Page/Store/List/Store Page List Category Section Reveal#store-page-list-category-section-reveal

The solution of creating new page for each category, and then use Summary Block to pull products from product categories, seems more rational to me.

But then I can not style the Summary Block section the same as my main shop which spans full width on 3 columns with very big minimal product images: www.luciaodescalchi.it/shop

I'm chatting right now with the SS support and they are suggesting to create as many shops as all my categories but then I will end up having to duplicate products multiple times.

    What would you suggest?

    Many thanks for your help

  9. Hello @Lesum

In another thread @tuanphan has suggested the solution of creating new page for each category, and then use Summary Block to pull products from product category, seems more rational to me.

But then I can not style the Summary Block section the same as my main shop which spans full width on 3 columns with very big minimal product images.

Also in Summary Block the maximum number of items is 30.

    www.luciaodescalchi.it/shop

In the main shop page, I already created two different sections with banners corresponding to two different categories. Currently I am still trying to make the 'Store Page List Category Section Reveal' process work, so you will find some mess and also I am working on it round the clock before I'll move back to Wordpress, to be honest.

    Which solution would you suggest?

Unfortunately I'm  realising that there's no way to set up a truly professional e-commerce in Squarespace. I'm trying my best but I'll be forced to move back to Wordpress from where I'm coming from with this client of mine.

    - Additional Info block must be created all over again and again for each and every product

    - there's no a 'filter by' function unless paying 74$  for a third party plug-in

This is truly unbelievable for the price we're paying monthly.

  11. @creedon seriously? Advertising a $74 plug-in for a feature which is universally implemented by default across any other platform out there whilst we are paying 28 € /month + the domain fee?

Squarespace should make basic features such as this one available for paying subscribers.

I already opened a ticket about this topic + the Additional Info issue (not being replicable on every product, see:

I urge anybody with the same problems to contact Squarespace via email or chat, asking feedbacks.

    Ticket no.  10661215

    Thanks

  12. Totally agree with @richhelmer

Any update? We are already paying a quite expensive Squarespace plan, comparing with alternative solutions such us Wordpress, just to name one, why should we pay an extra fee for a plug-in for such an universally used function such as Filter?

Besides, is this Forum supposed to provide technical support to customers or is this a place where to promote paid third-party plug-in?

    Many thanks

  13. Good morning @tuanphan

of course I tried, but this way I have to do it all over again for every single product. And not only adding it, also styling it and writing Accordion Items title and descriptions. This isn't an option.

In my case the Accordion would include 3 Accordion Items: two of them will be the same for mostly all of the products; but one Accordion Item would be specific for each product, let's say the dimensions.

    IDEAL SOLUTION:

    - create one Accordion template that I can recall each time I add an Accordion block to a product: this way I wouldn't have to re-write Accordion Items titles and descriptions

Hope you can help with this.

If this is not the case, I can only see 2 workarounds:

    WORKAROUND 1

The only element I could style from the Site Styles (brush icon) is the dividers line color.

Do you have any idea if there's a way to style at least the accordion icons and font on the site style level, so that each new Accordion that I add will look the same?

    WORKAROUND 2

Always duplicating an existing product with the Accordion, when adding a new product.

This doesn't look a good practice to me though, especially once I deliver the finished site to my client and their staff will have to run it.
