How to extend the sidebar categgory? (Adding subcategory in category)
creedon replied to SOJU's topic in Customize with code
v7.1 supports nested categories. However many people do not like the way SS present the categories in a Store page. Once you've set up nested categories you'll need to decide if you like how SS does things. If you don't you'll need to present how you want the category navigation to work and seek solutions. I can say ahead of time if there are solutions to how you want your UI to work. -
Excellent! I misunderstood your intent. I was thinking you wanted to target specific posts not all of them. My post would apply to the later.

As you've noted you can do it with CSS but it is tedious. I know of no code that currently does the following. My general approach to such a problem would be to use tags to indicate to some code which posts should have their footer hidden. Then the code adds a class to the page so that CSS would know to hide the footer. There are a couple of ways you could slice this problem but the end effect would visually be the same.

OK so this appears not be a user UI confusion issue. Sorry if it seemed I was being a bit to basic. We have to start somewhere! 🙂 I don't recall a situation like the one you describe. Pages that are accessible but not listed somewhere in the Pages panel. I've seen reports and experienced Dropdowns "losing" their contents but the pages are always in Pages somewhere. There is not much we can do from the outside. If you'd like I'd be happy to have you send me Contributor Invite with Administrator privileges to take a look and see if I can find the elusive pages. We can handle this via direct message if you want to proceed. The only other thing I can suggest would be to Contact Customer Support. One thing you might try would be to clear all data for your site in your browser. Cookie, cached data, and etc. You'd need to read on the web how to do that for your browser. You can also try an alternate browser you don't normally use and see if the same thing happens there. If not you know it's a problem with the data for your site in your preferred browser.

SS changed things around and there is no Advanced anymore. The option you want is there on the last screenshot you provided. Import & Export Content. So the path is Home > Settings > Website > Import & Export Content. Note : Home is not explicitly stated in the UI but it is often referred to as that as it is the top level you can get to when navigating the left panel.

Managed Custom Files is for v7.0 and Custom Files is for v7.1. The two versions have different UIs.

The check is actually there but the color scheme is preventing it from easily being seen. I don't have a solution but in general you might try adjusting the colors so the check is more visible.

My post had the wrong path. The Settings you want is on your second screenshot.
-
The instructions you read are out of date. SS has since moved things around. Settings is now on the home page. Just to be clear the export is not a backup in the sense that you can restore your site from it. It would contain some of the site content but is not a perfect copy.

Wordpress Theme from a squarspace domain
creedon replied to LarduvDaRings's topic in Getting Started With Squarespace
No. WordPress and Squarespace are two completely different platforms and elements from one are not shareable with another. -
Can't add an existing product in the shop page
creedon replied to adrianafo's topic in Setting up your store
All products are stored in a Store page. I would guess that you have at least two or more Store pages. To find all your Store pages go to Website > Pages. Open Main Navigation, Member Sites, Not Linked and Dropdown pages by making sure the arrows are pointing down. Look for the shopping cart icons. One of them will have the errant products in them. Once you find them click the checkbox next to a product you want to move, click the Move button, and select the destination Store page. If you end up with a Store page with no products and you no longer need it, remove it to reduce confusion. Let us know how it goes. -

Adding a multicolored border to bottom of header
creedon replied to pipedreamdesign's topic in Customize with code
This is what I'm seeing. Perhaps this is an issue of what you see in Preview is different from what we are seeing as an outside viewer. Try looking at your site in private browsing. How does it look? Let us know how it goes. -

Text for image descriptions is not there in gallery block on mobile
creedon replied to jwdsea's topic in Customize with code
I was unable to reproduce your issue with Safari on iOS. Your image almost looks like a rendering error. If you reload the page does it still happen for you?- 9 replies

Please post the URL for a page on your site where we can see your issue. For us to see the URL you need to include the link in the content of your post. The URL field the forum software provides is not shown to us. A link to the backend of the your site won’t work for us, i.e. a URL that contains /config/. Please set up a site-wide password, if your site is not public and you've not already done so. Post the password here. Adding a site-wide password does not allow anyone to alter your site. It only allows those with the password to see your site. Please read the site-wide password and how to share a link documentation to understand how they work. You may find How to post a forum question post useful. We can then take a look at your issue.

Security Alert on site - Think it's due to an embed code block
creedon replied to UsagiMie's topic in Code Blocks
I get no warning from Chrome or Safari when visiting the site. All looks good. Perhaps some over zealous user installed security software? There are any number of such software out there. MacAfee, Norton, Avast, and etc. -
I have updated my cited code in my March 11, 2021 post earlier in this thread but not to necessarily address the issue you are having but something I noticed in my testing. From the changes. another fix for summary block image border I can't speak to the 16:9 aspect ratio but it is the case that if images have any errant border of their own, those need to be trimmed away. Otherwise the border effect will fail. The most common is a background color that surrounds the image but then there is another color outside of that such as white or transparent. Also this code is not perfect. I'm working within some constraints because of the code I'm given to work within by SS

My code is cited in this thread and available on the web to anyone.

Need help with my contact form - it's totally wonky
creedon replied to pchelkowski's topic in Blocks
I looked at the site without the password. You only need the password when your site isn't' public. I don't have a solution but suggest you check over the font sizes for various elements in Styles to see if one has been set really big.
