  1. Hi @Bridgettela - Usually that error means there's a conflicting DNS record. If your domain has a domain forwarding rule, make sure to remove that. Otherwise, if your domain has a set of "Squarespace default" records in the DNS settings, remove those and then try adding your new DNS records. Here's the Squarespace guide with steps - Pointing a Squarespace domain to a non-Squarespace site
  2. Hello! If you have a Squarespace domain, you should be able to use email forwarding to send emails to your existing Google Workspace account email address, like you suggested. You're right that email forwarding through Squarespace is only available for Squarespace domains, though, not for third-party domains that are managed through Squarespace. You could also add your new domain to your existing Google Workspace account. You'd add the domain through Google and you'd also need to add the Google Workspace MX records to the domain. Here's Google's guide: Add a user alias domain or secondary domain The main difference is that adding the domain to your Google Workspace account will let you send and receive emails using that domain. Email forwarding will only let you receive emails sent through that domain. Since Squarespace requires that customers with existing Google Workspace accounts continue managing the account through Google, I don't think you'll see any changes with that service after the domain moves to Squarespace. The only significant change is that you'll log into Squarespace to manage the domain instead of Google Domains.
  3. Oh weird! Have you been able to move it? Is the new site on a paid subscription already?
  4. Hello @ateliermima - If you're seeing the "Pending domain verification" message, it usually means that the CNAME record Squarespace uses for verification is either missing or hasn't been added incorrectly. Here are a few quick troubleshooting steps that might help: If you're moving a domain between Squarespace sites, check that you followed the steps in this guide: Moving a third-party domain to another Squarespace site If your domain supports Nameserver Connect and DNS Connect, make sure that you know which connection method you used when adding the domain to your site's Domains panel. Then make sure that the domain's settings are changed accordingly: Nameserver Connect vs DNS Connect For Nameserver Connect, this means that your domain is using Squarespace nameservers. If you added the domain using this method, you should see the option to edit your DNS records through Squarespace. You should also see the Squarespace Defaults preset in the DNS settings. For DNS Connect, you won't see the option to edit the domain's DNS records through Squarespace. You might see "View DNS Settings" if there are missing or incorrect DNS records. If you just connected the domain and all of the settings are correct, give the connection a bit more time : ) As much as the internet is a speedy place, when you edit a domain's DNS settings the changes typically don't update immediately.
  5. Hello all! The "Domain not claimed" error means that the domain is pointing to Squarespace, but hasn't been added to the Domains panel of a Squarespace site. There are a couple of things to double-check: Make sure the domain is added to the Domains panel of the site. This is essentially how the site "claims" the domain. If you're moving a domain between Squarespace sites, check that you followed the steps in this guide: Moving a domain to another Squarespace site If your third-party domain supports Nameserver Connect and DNS Connect, make sure that you know which one you're using when adding the domain, and that the domain's settings are changed accordingly: Nameserver Connect vs DNS Connect For Nameserver Connect, this means that your domain is using Squarespace nameservers. If you added the domain using this method, you should see the option to edit your DNS records through Squarespace. You should also see the Squarespace Defaults preset in the DNS settings. If you just connected the domain and all of the settings are correct, give the connection a bit more time : ) As much as the internet is a speedy place, when you edit a domain's DNS settings the changes typically don't update immediately. Hopefully some of this helps!
  6. I'm curious if creating a .gif of the slideshow, then adding it to an image block or as a background might work. If you use the image block, you would layer the other content like your busienss name and tagline on top: Set content alignment and overlap
  7. Moving to Squarespace can definitely be a bit of an adjustment. I'd make sure that your domain's DNS settings match the requirements in Squarespace's guide for connecting to Google Sites: Connecting a Squarespace-managed domain to Google Sites In this case, make sure the A record has been added since this relates to your root domain: Type: A Host: @ Data: 198.185.159.144 Squarespace support can always troubleshoot the domain with you, too! Their live chat hours have been kind of spotty lately, but you can submit an email ticket to them all the time: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/requests/new#choose-topic They also offer some support on social media if you're in a pinch or you're not hearing back from anyone.
  8. If you need to add a TXT record for a Google Site, you can add it in the Custom Records section using the steps in this guide: Adding TXT records to a Squarespace-managed domain Squarespace support can always help you add the record, too! https://support.squarespace.com/hc/requests/new#choose-topic
  9. You should be able to check the site-specific records in each site’s Settings > Domains & Email > Domains > cambridge.monumentcycling.com panel. If you don't see the option to view DNS settings, try adding /dns-settings after your domain at the end of the URL in the web address bar. That said, if you don't see a "View DNS Settings" option, that usually means all of the DNS records were added correctly. Otherwise, you'd see an error message and the option to view details. The DNS settings for cambridge.monumentcycling.com all look right in the Google Admin Toolbox to me. I think there’s been a problem with SSL certificates taking a while, so if you’re still having trouble it would probably be worth reaching out to Squarespace support: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/requests/new#choose-topic
  10. This might be related to a known issue mentioned in this thread:
  11. Hey @NumberNine - You can safely remove and then re-add the MX records without risk to your Google Workspace account. MX records ("mail exchange" records) are only used to connect the domain with the email provider's servers, allowing them to "communicate". However, you might experience a little downtime after removing and re-adding the MX records while the records update. This means there could be a brief window where you're not able to send or receive emails. The downtime probably wouldn't last long since you'd be adding the same records, though, if it happens at all.
  12. Google Workspace can turn into a bit of a tangled mess sometimes, that’s for sure! I'm sorry you're having to deal with all of this. First, make sure that any domains you use with Google Workspace include Google Workspace's MX records (aka "mail exchange" records). These are the records that allow you to send and receive emails using the domain: Adding Google Workspace MX records When you have multiple domains connected to a Google Workspace account, it can be a little confusing to manage through Squarespace. Here are a few important notes: You can only manage a single Google Workspace account through a site's Google Workspace panel. Only the primary domain will show in the Google Workspace panel. If you change the primary domain, you may still see the original domain in Squarespace. When that happens, you can fix it by logging into your Google Admin console and change the domain for each user: Google Documentation New users will always use the primary domain by default. Creating a user for a secondary domain requires specific steps: Adding a user with a secondary domain If your domain is already linked to a Google Workspace account in Google, whether you created it or not, you won't be able to sign up again in Squarespace Ultimately, it might be helpful to reach out to Squarespace support for this one because they'll be able to look at more of the current settings with you: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/requests/new#choose-topic
  13. Hello @Martalberto - Usually that error happens if there's a conflicting DNS record or rule already included in the domain's settings. With MX records, it's often an email forwarding rule. If you have email forwarding set up, you'll need to remove it before you can add MX records for an email hosting service like Google Workspace. Email forwarding with a Squarespace domain
  14. Hi everyone! This looks like a Squarespace-related bug, especially if browser troubleshooting hasn't helped. You can contact their customer support to report the issue and they should be able to help: https://support.squarespace.com/hc/requests/new#choose-topic If you haven't heard back in a while, you can reach out to Squarespace on social media and ask them to check on the ticket or help open a new one. Or as a backup in an emergency, you can transfer the Google Workspace subscription to Google by canceling it in Squarespace. No data is lost, but you would have to set up new billing in Google to keep the service active. Then you can add a new user directly through Google. You'd also have to keep managing the account through Google, though - you couldn't add it back into the Google Workspace panel of your site. Transfer your Google Workspace account to Google
  15. Squarespace automatically adds your root domain to the end of the Host value when creating DNS records. In the Custom Records section, try using the following Host values: Host: @ Type: A Data: [redacted] Host: @ Type: AAAA Data: [redacted] Host: www Type: CNAME Data: [redacted] It's also important to note that if you're adding a forward rule for the "www" subdomain, you won't be able to add the "www" CNAME record in the Custom Records section because they will conflict with each other. Essentially, you can't forward/point a subdomain to two different URLs. Based on the information in Heroku's guide, I don't think you need the forwarding rule: https://devcenter.heroku.com/articles/custom-domains
  16. Hi all! Running through the troubleshooting steps in the Instagram block guide typically resolves a lot of common connection issues: Instagram block troubleshooting Disconnecting and reconnecting the account is often particularly helpful. Just make sure to re-select your Instagram account in the Instagram block afterward, or replace the Instagram block altogether. If that doesn't work, you may want to reach out to Customer Support since it could be a bug.
  17. I can help clear up some confusion about the “Use existing gallery” tab in those gallery blocks. That tab was previously used to connect with gallery pages, which aren’t supported in version 7.1. Since gallery sections aren’t quite the same as gallery pages, they don’t appear as an option. I do wish they'd at least update the gallery block so it no longer includes that tab on version 7.1 sites. As a workaround, you could organize images in your Asset Library into different folders for each gallery. Then you can find and add them all to the gallery block at the same time: Managing and reusing images and videos Gallery blocks are still supported on pages that use the classic editor, like blog posts or the additional information section for products. Otherwise, you have to be a Circle member to add a gallery block on other pages. Another quick gallery hack for version 7.1 sites - If you’re adding images to a gallery section, you can save the gallery section and reuse it on other pages: Saving page sections
  18. It looks like the page in your screenshot is an index page. If that's the case, you can customize how images are displayed in the "Index styles" section of the Site Styles panel (Make sure you have that page open when you go to Site Styles). This link should take you straight there: Site Styles panel The Avenue template guide has a lot of great tips, too: Avenue template - style the index
  19. Hey there! If you only mean to change the title of each form field, you can do so in the form block’s settings: Form blocks - Set up your form Some form field titles are less customizable, like the Name form field, but you can use a Text form field as a workaround in most cases. This Forum thread has a code suggestion for customizing the “required” text, as well: I hope this helps!
  20. Hey there! It looks like that site is using a version 7.0 template called Wells that had a built-in sidebar. The left and right arrows that appear when hovering over images were unique to gallery pages in the Wells template, too. There’s some discussion around making a similar sidebar for version 7.1 sites in this thread: That said, I’m not sure if you could pull image descriptions into the sidebar like in Wells. I recommend using a slideshow gallery section and looking for custom code that allows you to customize where image descriptions are displayed, as well as add custom slideshow controls. The suggestions in this thread may be helpful:
  21. Hey there! It looks like the images you're using for the products may be different sizes. I'd recommend double-checking the size of each image and making sure that they match to minimize this type of issue. If the images are the same size and they still don't look right on the store page, adjusting the design settings for the store section might help: Styling store pages Styling product images
