  1. Thank you for your very interesting solution. My only worry is that I am totally unfamiliar with CSS and rather nervous about using it. I would not know where to start. I intend to reread your helpful article to see how it all works. Many thanks
  2. Thank you but I am unsure as to what to do. How can I link to Store pages and show the images in original ratio? Sorry, I am unfamiliar with CSS.
  3. I have searched through the Forum and cannot find a solution to my problem with site design. I am not an expert and do not understand CSS code. Currently I am trying to create a website using SquareSpace version 7.1 which will contain a portfolio of images that will be for sale. In order to maintain a reasonable site speed, I will be using smaller versions of each image. I will then mail the larger images to customers as required. I currently have a main landing page which contains 6 main categories i.e. Travel, Nature and Wildlife, Infrastructure etc. When you click on one of these main categories you will be sent to a page that contains variations of the main category i.e., under Nature and Wildlife will be Plants, Trees, Landscapes, etc. Each of these sub-categories will have approximately 300 or more images and I would like them to all display in a way that shows the images in their best layout and correct aspect ratio i.e. Landscape and Portrait on the same page. Currently I am using Summary blocks to achieve this (which then links to the Store page) but would prefer if the Store Pages could show the images in their correct aspect ratio so that the site visitors could land directly there. (my reason is that the Store page can take up to 10,000 images but the summary blocks only 30 and I don’t want to use tags etc to connect them) Or is there another way to create this. I tried Gallery Pages but the Store pages do not automatically upload to them as they do to Summary blocks. I would be grateful for any advice regarding this issue.
  4. Thank you for your advice. I am not sure that I actually know what an SKU is but will do some research. However, my main issue is with the design and layout of the website in order to sell a large number of digital images. These will not be downloaded via the site but will be sent separately to the client. I just need each image to be linked to the Store pages which I realise only handles 10,000 images. However, I need them to look good and in the right aspect ratio which the Store page cannot do. But I am very grateful for your input. It all helps me move forward.
  5. I am trying to create a website using Version 7.1 which will contain a portfolio of approx 20,000 images that will be for sale. In order to maintain a reasonable site speed, I will be using smaller versions of each image (approx. 1500 on largest length) I will then mail the larger images to customers as required. Each of these sub-categories will have approximately 300 or more images and I would like them to all display in a well laid out grid which shows the images in their best layout and aspect. Visitors should then be able to scroll through these images and select the ones they prefer. Once they do this they should be taken directly to the respective Store Page. Due to a low budget I am trying to set the site up myself and, as I am not an expert, have had to use trial and error to get to this point. I cannot use Gallery Pages due to the fact that the Store pages will not upload automatically to them. I have therefore tried using a work-around by setting up pages for each sub-category and adding Summary blocks linked to the Store Page to these. The Summary blocks display the images in a favourable aspect (Something that the Store Page cannot do). However my main problem is that each Summary block can only hold 30 images meaning that each sub-category page will have to hold at least 10 summary blocks. These will need to be connected somehow, possibly by tags but this will create a lot more work and is not ideal. I would like to know whether there is a better way to handle the large quantity of images. It seems a pity that the store pages cannot show the images in better detail and in more than one aspect ratio, as they can hold up to 10,000 images. Alternatively, if the Store pages could directly upload to the Gallery pages that would also solve the problem. Basically, what I need is for site visitors to be able to view a series of related images in their best format and when they click on an image to be taken directly to the store page. I would be grateful for any advice on this issue.
