  1. If anyone ever reads my question above and wonders what the answer is. Here you go. I was talking to SS help today as I needed to resolve this. You'll have to create a text block then an image block then a text block and so on. More work I suppose but seems to be the only way to make it work. I've put in a request that they add this info to the help notes as well!
  2. Thanks @MDenise sorry, I only saw your response now as I don't get notifications when someone replies. As I mentioned in my post, I had just connected to the google console, so, yes that was the main issue. I've also signed up to SEO space now and have done a heaps more work on my website. It's a bit of a process but gets easier once you know what you are doing:-) Its a bit confusing that SEOSpace recommends different things to SS, ie different lengths of SEO title and metadescription etc, so I am not sure which is better. Regards, Nadja
  3. Hi, would anyone know if you can fix the position of an image on your site? I inserted text blocks and image blocks and it's a nightmare already in the desktop version as the images seem to move around and are out of place when I save the changes no matter what I do. It's even worse in the mobile version. As soon as I make any changes to the mobile version, it changes the settings of the desktop version. This is not only a problem with the images though. The mobile version of squarespace is a nightmare in general as you have to start moving blocks around even though all looks good on the deskop page. Help please!!! Thanks Nadja
  4. Hi, I have an issue with SEO’s. I am a landscape, wildlife, wildflowers and urban photographer aiming to sell my digital images that were taken in Australia, New Zealand, South-East Asia and Europe (where I am currently living) via my newly created website. I've published my SS website (domain: www.aperture-pix.com) a few weeks ago. The domain has been acquired earlier this year. Even though I've followed all the Squarespace prompts on SEO's and populated my site accordingly, the website is not coming up on google searches (using firefox and brave browser), even when I put in my company name: aperturePIX. The only thing that does show up is my linkedin profile. I added quite a bit of text to my website including the key words that people should find me by of course – photography 15 times, wildflowers 12 times, wildlife 11 times, urban 15 times, nature 15 times, Australia 57 times, New Zealand 39 times.) But maybe that it still not enough? I only added a SEO title + description to the homepage and the other pages a few days ago though as I somehow missed that previously. So not sure if that's the issue or if I am missing something else? I am not planning on doing a blog at the moment (I am not a blogger / writer) but might do this in the future. I've also just connected my site with the Google Search Console. I haven’t tried SEOSpace or other tools yet as a) these can be quite costly and b) I first wanted to see if anyone might be able to help in the SS community. Any other tips you have would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Nadja
  5. Hi @Ziggy & @SEOSpace_Henry I have a similar issue. I am a landscape, wildlife, wildflowers and urban photographer wanting to sell my images that were taken in Australia, New Zealand, South-East Asia and Europe (where I am currently living). I've just published my website www.aperture-pix.com a few weeks ago though. The domain has been acquired earlier this year. I've followed all the Squarespace prompts on SEO's now and populated my site accordingly. I believe compared to the competition, I added quite a bit of text to my website. I only added a SEO title + description to the homepage and the other pages today though as I somehow missed that previously. So not sure if that's the issue or if I am missing something else. I am not planning on doing a blog at the moment (I am not a blogger / writer) but might do this in the future. I've also just connected my site with the Google Search Console. Any other tips you have would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Nadja
  6. I just discovered this feature when looking for an option to password protect certain areas for my photography. I find the squarespace set up a bit clunky and found this in an article online as well. https://www.tooltester.com/en/how-to-make-photography-website/ What they should improve: While you can password-protect pages to create private client galleries, Squarespace doesn’t offer any client proofing features or the ability for clients to order gallery prints. Faster page loading speeds would also make for a better user experience. I..e it would be good to have a member area for your subscribers that is password protected and then you can upload any images they bought this way.
  7. Thanks @paul2009 I think I just found the same info you sent via the newly set up photographer forum:-) Thanks a lot for the quick response. It's a bit clunky the way squarespace has set this up but at least it's an option.
  8. Actually I just found this relevant article in case anyone is wondering, too but it's not ideal. https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205814618-Page-passwords
  9. I found this feature on wix but not on squarespace yet. Anyone has a clue whether you can do this? I found reference to wix in this article. https://www.tooltester.com/en/how-to-make-photography-website/
