  1. DISCLAIMER: I am an old man and no longer the sharpest tack in the drawer. Still... I abandoned Mailchimp in the name of increased efficiency through direct integration. However, the current marketing>email offering fails on almost every level. Design options are way too restrictive even for Squarespace's sensibilities, and rational navigation has been sacrificed at the altar of minimalism in which critical functions are hidden behind (...) menus and the like. I understand that this is of necessity a complex system, but unavoidable complexity deserves excellence in design rather than what feels rushed and half-baked. I have always been a Squarespace fan, and the sucky marketing>email fail will not change that. I guess I was expecting too much. But now I'm having to decide whether to cut my losses and work with a 3rd party solution again or hold on for the imminent major overhaul sure to be announced right after I pull the plug. There IS a major overhaul in the works, isn't there‽ 😎
  2. I'm Lawrence, a 76-year-old creator who has made his living exclusively as a fine artist since 1979. I live and work in Tucson, Arizona. My "organically grown" 7.0 website is https://lawrenceleeart.com, soon to be reimagined in 7.1. After a long and successful career as a painter exploring shamanistic imagery, I am now focusing entirely on abstract landscapes. In NFT circles, I'm better known as NotoriousGangOfOne, a 2019 OG. I worked with Matt Kane to create the industry-standard 10% commission on resales, which resulted in millions of dollars of payouts to digital artists worldwide. I wrote and illustrated the first children's book created on a computer in color (8-bit, no anti-aliasing, Pre-Photoshop version 1!). (Published by Harbinger House 1989). No one knew how to get the art out of the Mac II and into print! I've seen a lot of changes in art, art marketing, and the internet. I retired to a Caribbean island in 2000 but returned to the States and have been painting again since 2014. Favorite quote: "Love is that condition in which another person's happiness is essential to your own." -R. Heinlein in "Stranger In A Strange Land"
  3. Professional artist for 50 years, showing in fine galleries in the U.S. and Europe since 1972.

  4. I suspect that the bean counters decided it would be WAY cheaper to store a few hundred gigabytes of useless images than it would be to hire and support the coders needed to solve the problem. After all, how many users have quit using Squarespace because of the issue? My guess would be vanishingly few. I may not like the outcome, but neither can I really fault their conclusion. If I was running Squarespace, I'd likely make the same call.
  5. Thanks for the clarification. I'll chalk it up to senile dementia (I'm 73 and do forget things now and then). So I apparently found and used Michael's tool to great effect several years ago, although I have no recollection of doing so. But if I did it once, I should be able to do it again. And that is GREAT NEWS!
  6. That's interesting. For the past few years, I've been able to have people (anyone, anywhere) upload files. The option is provided in all custom forms in 7.0.
  7. I'm looking for a similar solution. I'm developing a site for a nonprofit art group that has art exhibitions several times a year. I need to have people upload images of the paintings they are submitting. This was easy in 7.0 and I'm surprised that such functionality is not yet available in 7.1. The commercial workaround SQSP suggests costs way too much for this group to afford. Ideas?
