a_b_p got a reaction from Beyondspace in SSL Error (Cloudflare)
Hello!
I moved my domain to another provider a few years ago and have had problems with SSL since then.
About three years ago I started using Cloudflare and with the use of proxies and full SSL/TLS encryption I didn't care about the error messages with Squarespace.
Well, until I wanted to activate customer accounts!
Proxies for A and CNAME entries turned off. No change -> "SSL certificates aren't currently available for the domains below."
I also switched off Full SSL/TLS Encrypts. No change! -> "SSL certificates aren't currently available for the domains below."
All this has only resulted in my website no longer being accessible via HTTPS.
If I switch on all the cloudflare settings again, the site is accessible via https again, but a DNS error is displayed again in the Squarespace settings. This is just annoying!
From the few hits I get on google search on "Squarespace + Cloudflare", it seems that it is probably impossible to use both together. 😞
And the article "Using Cloudflare with Squarespace" contains almost no useful information.
Thanks for any tips and help!

a_b_p reacted to SoniaBiddle in SSL error after every edit to site.
Hello,
New to Squarespace.
I have SSL/TLS/HSTS enabled.
I've found that every time I make a simple edit, like the wording of some text, once I save, when I refresh the page I get an error: ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR
Then, after some time the site properly loads with a valid certificate.
It seems to me, the SSL cert must be being reissued upon every edit.
I am not making any changes to the hostname/domain and therefore the certificate should not require any change, update or re-issue.
Am I doing something wrong?
I'm still building the site now, so the error is annoying and inconvenient, but I am concerned that every time I need to make a small content change in the future will result in a site outage.
Thank you for your feedback.

Having the same issue, I've tried clearing my cache, used a different browser and different devices. Still getting the same error message, there's something wrong with the SSL certificate.
