Hi folks, I'm an SEO professional and this is how I solved this issue using Squarespace's URL mapping system. We had a number of "alternate" versions of a home page URL that were appearing in search results, so I created the URL maps to permanently redirect those locations: 
/index.html -> / 301 /home -> / 301
So now, mywebsite.com/index.html    -REDIRECTS TO->    mywebsite.com  
AND, mywebsite.com/home    -REDIRECTS TO->    mywebsite.com
Basically it works like this: In redirects systems, the forward slash by itself "/" equals the domain-homepage. So those URL maps above are taking the "alternate" versions of the homepage URL (mywebsite.com/index.html, mywebsite.com/home) and pushing them to the naked slash "/" aka the domain-homepage.

Squarespace do not provide a link to the original "injury.mp4" file on their video content distribution network [https://video.squarespace-cdn.com]. Instead they stream the video file using a Blob URL that is only valid for the user's session, which is why you cannot find a URL that you can share.
If you are using Squarespace 7.1 and would like to provide users with a way of playing this video full screen, here is an alternative way of doing this. It doesn't provide them with a direct URL to the video file, but it will provide them with a link to a page showing a single video. 
First add a Video Page to the unlinked section of the Pages panel.
Next, add the video to the Video Page.
Video Pages are organised into two parts: the Video List Page and individual Video Detail Pages so when you click on an individual video, you should reach the Video Detail Page (VDP) showing a single video. When you are viewing this 'VDP', the URL will include "/v/". You can then share this URL with others. It is the closest you will get to a URL for the video and the benefit is that it will keep users on your site.
If you want a video file to be downloadable (not playable), you'll need to use the link editor to upload the file instead as Tuan suggested above, but this is subject to a file limit of 20MB.

Is there a way to create consistent spacing across fluid engine and all the breakpoints. I find that I can get it to look okay for my images and text on desktop and mobile but then when I resize the window the spacing between the various elements goes a bit haywire. I am currently trying to fix these in between area but as soon as I've fixed one, I've broken another so it's a constant battle.
Maybe I am just not understanding how to use it properly but I'd love to be able to choose my spacing and that it keeps that across all breakpoints.
If anyone had any advice, I'd love to hear it or maybe point me in the direction of a good tutorial if I am missing something. Thanks!

It's a safari thing and not a Squarespace thing. I noticed it on my own site when Apple pushed out an update to Safari. They released a beta build of Safari for Ventura in the last week or so and every time they do that it breaks something. Not sure why it breaks the stable build but it does.

Which works perfectly on most browsers but not on Safari!

Wow crazy to read this thread and still no response from Squarespace. I am dealing with the same issue and its 2023. This thread goes back to 2021... seems like there is no resolution here and I might need to migrate over to a new provider.

Would love to see a fix here. Why is it that we still cant just set the slug as "/" for the homepage?

Same problem. Still no solution to this? This is ridiculous

Is there a way to create an anchor link to a List section template?  I don't see a way to add any code to the a List.  Attached is a photo of the selected template.  Thanks!

any update to this?  There are so so so many things that seem just to be glossed over on major fixes that need to happen with SS.  I'm an SEO and it's the same issues on all my sites.  I don't want to have to use another platform but it's starting to look like that's going to have to happen.  Super frustrating that there are so many known SEO type issues that SS isn't doing anything to fix.

Hi everyone. Is there any update on this topic? I am also trying to add breadcrumbs to all my blog posts. It's actually very frustrating that Squarespace does not provide this simple feature. Hope they consider adding it in the upcoming product updates. 

This is a huge issue.  I would not have signed up for Squarespace member areas or for Squarespace email campaigns if I had realized that you can't send an automated email to your new members.  It's so fundamental to this process.  How can they have overlooked it?
