Montauk: How to add a canvas background image?

I am using the Montauk layout, and would like to use a background image for canvas instead of a background color, in addition to a background image for the site. There’s a background image option, but no option for a canvas background image. Is there any way to do this either through a setting I’m overlooking or with CSS? Thank you in advance for any help.
