Like Paul said above – it looks totally as it should.
But what I encountered with some clients in the past is the fact that they do not comprehend fully the concept of responsive design. Sometimes they expect that webdesign behaves like a static PDF or print document where everything stays at the same place when resizing. I have multiple discussion with some clients until they fully grasp the concept. Maybe it is that – or I oversee something.

So it's been three years, and it seems Squarespace is not going to fix this humongous issue. Has anyone come up with a solution to this? Moving back to 7.0 is not a viable option, since 7.0 is very restrictive and outdated. It feels like a huge chore to move the whole site to another platform. But that's what I'm looking into atm, since building portfolio draft pages is such a basic necessity.

I found a workaround from one of the countless forum entries about this same problem. You can hide a portfolio child page from the main grid by using this code (replace the number of the child page with the subpage number):
    .portfolio-grid-overlay .grid-item:nth-child(1) { display: none; }

Sadly, this is a Squarespace bug, that they acknowledged on 1 June 2023 but it hasn't been fixed yet. It isn’t something you can fix yourself.
This video shows me typing "This is me typing a title...":

As you can see, it cuts off half way through when cursor focus suddenly moves away from the title field.
I used the same workaround as you - typed the title somewhere else and then pasted it in.

When I create a blog I have trouble editing the title.  I can type 1 or 2 letters and the computer loses focus and I have to click back in the title to continue editing.  This was taking me minutes to type a short title and was frustrating.   I have a workaround to type the title in Notepad and copy and paste it into the title.
I have tried multiple browsers and also get the same experience on a PC and a MacBook.
This issue happens on new posts or editing older posts when I want to modify the title.
    Any ideas on this issue?

I would also like that checkbox. Just to have order "in the backend". 😉

What I did is to create folders and I put stuff in there which I already used. Each project gets a folder or even subfolders.
If new images are uploaded – which can happen if you like to use them for some thumbnails where you cannot choose from the asset library – I know at least which ones were uploaded recently -> because they are not in a folder.
I also try to delete "older versions" of images as soon as I don't need them anymore.

But it is still a bit laborious. 😬

Ok, thank you for quick reply! I was worried about that. I still look forward to the check box 🙂

Several times now I've abandoned entire pages built using FE and completely rebuilt pages from scratch using the old editor because it was impossible to work with FE. Squarespace is causing me to try SeedProd on WordPress for my next project. If it works better and costs me less time than FE, I'm gone - and I doubt I'll be back.

Well this is embarrassing. I've made so many sites over the years on SS. This time I did Fluid engine and literally just sold my boss and the dev team on this. Made a beautiful page and then go to design for mobile. BAM that is when the nightmare begins.

I don't even know where to start to rectify this. It should not be this hard to adjust for mobile. I wish they would let us change font sizes, alignment etc. without letting one affect the other. It's supposed to be that way, but it's obviously not.

Also everything on mobile is skewing to the right? If I center it, it doesn't work and then jacks up desktop formatting. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I have ongoing email discussions with the support about this.
Currently it looks like that all fonts are loaded that are in the style guide.
So, if you change everything to Arial, which is an internal font, Google fonts are loaded if they are in the style guide.
Looks like in the attachment und er site styles / fonts

Currently, there is no option to remove fonts from the style guide.
Found this solution https://e2a.studio/squarespace-tips-how-tos/how-to-remove-unwanted-fonts-from-your-squarespace-website but it's a lot of work and didn't work for my template.
Still waiting for a solution from Squarespace to be able to use Sqauarespace legally in Germany....
    I'll kepp you posted!

The team have provided an initial list of circumstances when a visitor to a Squarespace website will connect to a Google server. This will happen if any of the following are true:
Google fonts are used A reCAPTCHA is used on a Form Block, Newsletter Block, Promotional Pop-up or Product Waitlist. A Map Block is viewed A Form uses the Google Drive storage option. The site is connected to Google Analytics The site is connected to Google Search Console Note that this is not an exhaustive list (more to come).
Regarding fonts, note that in Squarespace 7.0 you can now choose GDPR-compliant fonts by clicking SET ALL TO SYSTEM FONTS at the bottom of the Site Styles panel. This replaces all the Google or Adobe fonts with system fonts. This is in addition to the font packs already available in 7.1.

On Squarespace 7.1 you can select one of the built-in font packs:
Under Sans-serif, select Helvetica Neue Under Serif, select Georgia Under Mixed, select Verdana

Hey All! Was just talking about this with some other designers. This seems like a huge and very concerning issue.
Even with embedding fonts or uploading woff files, the google fonts will still load in the background. Not to mention it's just a huge hassle to upload a bunch of font files when they're already built right in. Also, any business owner who DIYs their site is definitely not going to know anything about this.
Does anyone from the Squarespace team have any insights into if/how this is being addressed?

Squarespace are aware that this is an important issue. Teams are working to audit all the Google connections and integrations which could be passing a visitor's IP address to Google.
Understandably, this involves multiple teams and departments and so it isn't possible to give an estimated delivery time but they understand the urgency and hope to have this information available soon.

mop reacted to matthewhodges in Disable feature for portfolio sub-pages 7.1
I have been building a new portfolio site in 7.1 using a portfolio page as my homepage. Intially I thought this was a great feature, but it now appears it is missing some basic functionality – specifically, the option to disable/hide the portfolio sub-pages. Firstly, without this functionality it is not possible to build a sub-page in the background and make it live when you are happy with it – it is immediately live, which is surely no one would want (other page types have a disable function to keep them invisible from site vistors). Secondly, a disable/hide function would allow you to create a portfolio with lots of pages, and then select which ones to display in the main portfolio page – meaning you could keep your portfolio fresh by swapping projects in and out very easily. Without this functionality, the only option is to delete and then rebuild the sub-pages, which is very time consuming!

Has anyone else come up against this issue and perhaps come up with a solution? And could anyone who wants this functionality please email customer support to request it – they will only prioritise it if enough people ask.

I would also like to know when this issue is addressed.
This is really annoying since I often have to prepare project pages but the projects themselves are not made for public yet.

Also the website visitor can see that it is being built "live". 🙄

I have seen the new Squarespace Cookie Banner on the German Squarespace website. When will it be available for our customers?

Finally it is possible to control Cookies without Cookiebot and Google Tag Manger.
