  1. Hi Lisa - I don't have a "class" per se - but this 3 minute video will show you what to do. If you need help at all, just contact me directly - we are in Denver too!
  2. The referenced Squarespace support article is suggesting you embed MLS search as an IFRAME. This is a rudimentary approach to use if all you have is an 'IDX link' from your MLS (or similar from some other IDX solutions vendors). However! Be aware the entire IDX service of 'search', 'results', 'property details'.. are all going to be in the same 'box' (the IFRAME) on 'one' page on your website. At this point you may be wondering why you are even doing it. Given an unexciting and constrained IFRAME approach, most consumers are going just bounce off to Zillow, where the search experience will be a lot better. In addition, don't expect any glowing reviews for how this works or looks on a mobile device (hint - its not going to make you or your website look fabulous on a mobile). For future reference, it is possible to completely avoid these issues and use more modern approaches such as embeddable IDX that will display seamlessly on Squarespace website pages - in and amongst other content on the page... to create a far more professional image. Here's an example Squarespace site- https://www.wendyblake.com/ And a more comprehensive overview of what you could do: https://charliesmithrealty.net With IDX, agents can exploit the entire MLS to use as your own content. Think outside the box! Use properties as a basis for demonstrating your knowledge and delivering value to prospective clients. Hope this helps. - Paul
  3. Hi Stephen - looks like you got things to re-direct. But I see that is what you have now .... a redirect to a 3rd party site - there is no content on the clients Squarespace site or domain anymore. For future reference, it is possible to completely avoid this and embed IDX content seamlessly on Squarespace website pages - in and amongst other content on the page to create a beautiful layout. Here's an example Squarespace site- https://www.wendyblake.com/ And a more comprehensive overview of what you could do: https://charliesmithrealty.net
  4. Hi Sharon, For any website developer who wants to work with real estate agents, I know this can be a confusing topic and a potential roadblock to winning the website business! However, its actually very simple and non-technical to seamlessly add MLS listings to a Squarespace website. So, here's the primer so you can be confident about offering your website services to real estate agents: Background: All the MLS (in north America), have a policy that allows their members to show MLS listings on their own websites. This policy is known as "IDX" (Internet Data eXchange). And, solutions that provide this function to Agents are generally known as "IDX", provided by "IDX solutions vendors". To add MLS listings from any MLS, the Agent/Broker whose website it is, will need to be a member of that MLS! (E.g. a member of BRIGHT MLS in this case) How to Add Properties to a Website: To add MLS properties and property search functions to a website, the simplest approach is to use an add-on (a "plugin") from a third party "IDX solutions vendor". This 3rd party has a relationship with the MLS and so is getting the MLS data already and handling all the technical issues of working with the MLS data. The IDX solutions vendor then provides the solution by providing a "plugin" (JavaScript library) and methods to add listings and other MLS search functions to a website. So technically, the steps you would follow are: (1) Add the plugin - e.g a JavaScript library, (2) Add short-codes (<div>s) on pages to show listings and other functions as needed. These short code snippets are for showing listings, search forms, properties on maps etc in and around other content on web pages. In order to use any IDX solution, the MLS will need to "approve" the Agent/Broker to do this - i.e. there's some initial paperwork to get "IDX approvals" (this is all handled by the IDX vendor - nothing for you to worry about). Once they are approved (a day or so), you will then be able to add the plugin and start adding MLS properties and functions to the agents website. This approach make it very simple for you as a website developer to engage with real estate agents and offer them great website solutions. You can focus on building great sites, and use an IDX solution, such as Buying Buddy, to add MLS properties as additional content to the pages you create. Many MLS provide their members with a "free" IFRAME search link option - which of course if going to look dreadful on your beautiful website designs. Most agents want to showcase their own listings, or sold etc - they want it to be impressive - and so a solution that seamlessly embeds MLS content and function into an agents website will have more value for them. I hope this helps you and any other website creator thinking about working with real estate agents! This site shows how it could all look on your own creations: https://charliesmithrealty.net Please reach out to me directly if you need any assistance. - Paul Eastwood
  5. Hi Marty - the code the MLS gave you, needs to be put in an IFRAME on your webpage. FIRST: The way to do this is to first, add a section to your page if needed. I would check to make sure that the "section" settings are "L" for both width and height, and make the content alignment to the "top". (the section settings look like this - ) SECOND: Then in that section add a CODE BLOCK and edit it. (Remove any code that's there already.) Then paste in the URL the MLS gave you and then edit to make it the "src" in an IFRAME. Here's the code you need to use based on your link: <iframe width="100%" height="1000px" frameborder="0" src="https://bakersfield.rapmls.com/scripts/mgrqispi.dll?APPNAME=Bakersfield&PRGNAME=MLSLogin&ARGUMENT=H2zUOlu2tkUxkryesKDU749SqPJoTCQHK0dEkcBL4%2Fs%3D&KeyRid=1&MLS_Origin=BAK&pg=criteria"></iframe> This will create an IFRAME with no border, that is as wide as possible, and 1000px high. Your MLS search form is displayed in this frame. You could even make the IFRAME height 2000px if you wanted to avoid the scroll bars Hope this helps! FYI - There are IDX solutions that seamlessly embed search, listings etc. into your Squarespace pages - here's an example how seamlessly MLS listings can embed in a Squarespace site: https://charliesmithrealty.net Paul Eastwood
