  1. Site URL: https://zaborskykh.com When scrolling through the Slideshow Reel on a mobile phone, then the pictures are loading slowly, even with a high speed internet connection. My observation is that only the visible pictures are loaded. When scrolling, each new picture is loading independently, which takes roughly 1-2 seconds, even on a high speed internet connection. This isn't a big issue on a desktop browser, because on my site usually 3 pictures are shown and if you scroll through each of them, the next ones are loaded while you look at the central picture, but on the mobile version you only see one picture at a time and when you scroll, each picture has to load, which disturbs the whole viewing process. Is there maybe a way to load several pictures at once in the Slideshow Reel so that you can scroll without loading time on mobile, even when only one picture is shown?
  2. After pasting your CSS code, the distance between the page title and the Reel actually increased and the images got cropped.
  3. On my front page there's an area below the Reel slideshow, that is empty, but isn't filled by the pictures from Reel, although they would be big enough. The area I'm speaking about lies below the navigation arrows: Is it somehow possible to remove this area, so that the Reel gets more vertical space? The site can be found here, the PW is "knockknock".
  4. Autoplay? My aim is to either click on the pictures manually, to scroll through them (like done in Lightbox) or/and use the mouse scroll. Both actions should be triggered manually, so no autoplay involved here.
  5. Contrary to this article, it's actually possible to change the global default color theme for a site by using the mobile app of Squarespace! Just go to "site styles" > "colors" where you'll find the corresponding entry. It's a shame that this isn't mentioned in the official help section!
  6. @stevehurst From your lips to God's ears! At least Squarespace could mention in their corresponding help section that it's indeed possible to change the default color theme using their mobile app! Even the official support team wasn't aware of this solution! Many thanks to @laura_c providing a solution!
  7. I'm searching for a way to scroll through a Reel by either clicking on pictures (thus mimicking the behaviour when pictures are shown in a lightbox) and/or using a mouse wheel. When using the mouse wheel, then the pictures should be scrolled horizontally, as if they are swiped. The idea behind this is to remove the navigation arrows, to make the landing page more minimalistic and comfortable to navigate. Is this somehow possible to achieve on the personal plan with Squarespace v7.1? See this site with "knockknock" as a password.
  8. This works, thanks! Is there also another way to change the color by using Squarespace's interface? The downside of this CSS method is that you have to adjust the color manually, if you'll use another color theme.
  9. I can't find a way to change the color of the black area at the bottom of the page, that lies below the footer (in my case the footer is disabled). This is a problem, because the area covers the navigation arrows, when the window gets smaller. It seems that this area isn't a block, because it can't be selected in the edit mode, so it must be some kind of "background", but I can't find the appropriate entry in Design > Site Styles > Colors > Customize your themes, because I've already changed all entries there, but with no effect. Only one approach has an effect: selecting another color in Design > Site Styles > Colors > Edit Palette in the far right circle (read, 5th from left), but this changes other colors in my themes as well, so it's not a real solution. Observed under Squarespace 7.1. This area also appears, if all CSS tweaks are disabled. Site with PW "knockknock". Edit: As it turned out, the black stripe was due to the background color of the global default color theme, as mentioned here. For a solution see my answer below.
