Same here. I've signed up to google search console through squarespace at first, requested indexing. Then removed that property and added it manually through google search console. It's been a month and nothing.
Howerver did also register it on Bing webmaster. It's been crawled/indexed in a week and is showing up to date information on search. But noone uses bing..
Squarespace says it might take up to 6 months to index your website. I really doubt that it works like that, but SQUARESPACE, if it might take this long, maybe be more open about it???
Let your customers know that once you set up your website your website it will go live after 6 months or so?
I will be looking for another platform if that's the case. I don't know, but I really doubt that it is normal for websites to appear in search results (which is essentially- exist) after 2- 6 months.
