How do you add spacing in between pages on the sidebar in Wells?

I recently saw a site that also uses Wells manage to include spacing in between the pages in the sidebar (link here: https://www.nickmakanna.com/). I've been trying to figure out how to add this spacing for my own site's sidebar with no success. Is there some button that I'm missing or is CSS required? Thanks.
