When I switch templates, all of my work disappears, so I have to restart my website when I switch templates?

It seems my website does not have a navigation bar: eflatwells.com How can I put one? I've tried everything. All I know is I'm using the "Skye" template. My website is almost perfect, I just need a header with navigation bar on my pages! 😞 I really can't understand this 😞
