Hello, I need to find a way to create a section/field on a page for my customers to check serial numbers of the items. Basically user should be able to input a serial number in the text field and click "Check" button. Then site should check whether or not whatever user wrote is in my database and therefore give the user either green tick or a red X, or something like that as a confirmation. And I have that serial numbers database in Excel sheet. What do I do? How do I make this work? Is there some kind of addon for that?

This does work, but I'm in a situation where I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO use the UTF8, because the descriptions that I put in the file are in a language that requires UTF8 and I am absolutely sure this used to work just fine, because I have a ton of products imported like that. So technically, this is a new issue right now, May 2023 and your solution (though it works) is not an actual solution, but rather a workaround of sorts. Hope someone fixes it soon.
