    As a photographer, not being able to delete photos makes Squarespace unwieldy to use. After about a year, all my portfolio images get  updated. It's a hassle to scroll through old photos I'll never use again. I may have a logo from years ago that I need to find, but it's buried in back of the unused images.
    At this point, it would be easier to find a new host and build a new site.
    This is an issue that needs to get fixed.

    I have used SquareSpace for years and just went in to clean up ton of photos I don't need and want deleted. Seriously ... I cannot remove photos from my library??

    After reading this thread and also seeing it has been 1.5 years since this was said would be addressed may be my deal breaker too. Was just considering building out 50 - 100 new websites on SS and that won't be happening now. Will go back to WP and save my money.

    Glad I caught this thread here now.

    Please SquareSpace team, can you provide us with a response as to what you're doing with this. It's really poor that there isn't a media library to manage images more efficiently. If I had known this I would have put my client on Wix because they have a media library. It's been 1.5 years since you said this would be put in with your engineering teams

    @Etienne
    If SS implemented this feature I bet a lot of the process of editing images on a site would speed up a lot because the site wouldn't have to load a bunch of cruft!

    Lack of this basic feature is becoming a deal breaker for me. I will have hundreds of images and variations of them as my site grows. I need to be able to sift through them quickly and cull the ones no longer needed. As things stand, that is becoming more and more cumbersome because a simple delete feature does not exist.
    I have just sent a message to their "Help" team. I suggest others do the same. Squeaky wheel gets the grease. Go here to do so:

    You can’t.  It makes the feature useless for anything other than brand new sites.

    FYI the best way to do this depends on what template they were using, if it is a 7.0 you can effectively build a new one using the same account log in and config log in, and then switch templates. If it is the 7.1 template (and there really is only one) then you would have to redesign the site as is, because there is no change template option with 7.1. Starting from scratch and transferring ownership would have domain and billing changes to be made as well.  I would be glad to offer more information if needed.

    Hi all,
    Newer web designer here.  A client started building their site in squarespace and it needs an overhaul.  I would like to start with a new template in my account and pass ownership of the site over to them upon completion.  Is that the best route though?  Does it make more sense to scrub their current site and just rebuild within the current template they are using?  That would mean no need to transfer ownership.

    I am switching back from SS7.1 to Photoshelter or PicFair. I like my website as it is on SS7.1 but the selling of prints is a royal pain in the @$$ . I haven't managed to find an ideal shop extension or layout that suits. My previous website was created by RedFrame but that became cost prohibitive for the services offered.

    My layout was originally Barbosa with a load of changes. Apart from the cost difference between SS and PS what was your reason for looking to change?

    Over the years, I've adopted various strategies. For smaller sites, it's usually just easiest to sketch on paper so I can "feel" the logical flow. This can work for larger sites also, when navigating to grouped sections. If I have an ongoing partnership with my clients, then I will use analytics to determine what might work best.
    I would like to switch to digital wireframing, has anyone used Adobe XD? Sketching will always be quicker for me, but I'd prefer a digital copy to look more professional and more quickly share ideas with clients.
