This worked really well and I was able to see some other things that needed doing too, thank you!

Imports can be tricky, but the export should work fine. 🙂

I hate using anything to do with Squarespace CSV but I will give this a try as I guess it will let me scan through quickly to see what products are missing categories, thank you!

The quickest way is to export your inventory to a CSV file. The file will include a categories column that lists each category for each product.

    Hello,
I'm doing some much needed inventory organising and noticed many items didn't have a category or tags assigned before publishing.
This is obviously a huge issue as without categories, nobody can see the item unless they are searching for it.
Before I go and look through all 331 listings, is there a quicker way to do this?
    Thanks!

Thanks Paul, this would work, however, I think I have some technical issues as I tried both ways you mentioned and also importing ALL of my Etsy products but they are nowhere to be found. I've imported products several times prior to today and it has been fine. I've contacted Squarespace directly now.
Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Indeed. I don't recommend that anyone enables Developer Mode unless they are a Developer.
Note also that Squarespace 7.1 doesn't have a Developer Mode.

Update February 2021: Squarespace added Afterpay as an option in the US, Australia and New Zealand. PayPal Pay-in-3 is available in the UK.
Update March 2024: Squarespace added Klarna to Squarespace Payments. This is now available to sellers in the US where Squarespace Payments is available.
It isn't possible for anyone - including professional developers - to integrate a new payment processor or payment method into the Squarespace ecommerce system. This aspect is under Squarespace control.
To explain, Squarespace is slightly different to other web hosting platforms because it is "serverless". This makes it much easier for you to build a website or an online store with technical knowledge and it ensures that your site will keep running safely and securely because there's a team at Squarespace who take of all the technical infrastructure for you! For them to do this whilst keeping payments secure and compliant, they lockdown the checkout and payment systems and don't allow you to change them.
It will take time for Squarespace to integrate new payment methods and I think it's highly unlikely that Squarespace will integrate Klarna any time soon. If you really need this particular service then the only workaround is to use an alternative e-commerce checkout on your Squarespace site (such as Shopify Buy Buttons), or move to another platform that supports it (like Shopify). If it helps, I wrote about how to do this here: How to add Afterpay or Klarna to Squarespace.

While I appreciate devs like yourself coming up with an option, for my small business, its simply not cost effective to run both a squarespace site and a shopify backend.  Its even less realistic for a small business like mine is to pay shopify's mid-tier pricing to get the functionality to use these features.

Same -- I am having so many customers ask if we offer payment plans for our products. Very frustrating that Squarespace currently doesn't have any integration. I could be making so many more sales. Considering switching my site to a different platform even.

If you do not want to import all Etsy listings you can:
Create a temporary Store page for the import and then use the Etsy importer (Inventory > Import) to import everything into the temporary store. When the import is complete, move the required products to the correct store page and then delete the temporary page. or
In Etsy, export your listings to a CSV file. Manually edit the data to delete the unwanted listings and then format the data to match the Squarespace format.
