I received this message during the webinar after I asked a question:
As you can see my search console shows that prior to May, my clicks were following the trend of my impressions closely. This is no longer the case.

You can also see that my click through rate is the lowest it's been for 12 months (apart from Christmas, for obvious reasons)

This is the logo that I made for my Squarespace plugin, named Spark.
Spark is a way to boost your websites design in a few clicks. That is why I thought the "k" in Spark should stick out, to show that any website can get this improvement too.

@ArunNairArt Great work with your artworks, I like them!
Two things you can improve with the website:
Add some short text in the start that explains what the website is about. I had slow connection so all I saw the first 10 seconds was the loading screen. Good luck!

    Nice website @BrowerCreative! 😊
    Here are my 3 thoughts:
Why do you have two different logos? I like the first one best (with the video background). I don't think the first page is necessary. Would be nice if you had the first page-design, but didn't have to click another time to see the navigation and scroll. I like the design in general!

    Amazing job, @ArminB! 🌟
Apart from the nice looking website, I like the marketing side of it a lot. Like "Access Leading Experts" and "Leaders Lodge" both sound premium. Also, you show The Leaders early on.
    Good luck with the project!

    Hi team,
A web developer colleague has put me onto this google speed testing tool: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/
I have tested several of my Squarespace websites using the tool and they all get TERRIBLE ratings especially on mobile.
Does anyone have advice on how to improve the ratings beyond making images smaller. We can't improve the format yet so that is out but what else can we do.

    Cheers,
    Brent

We are (not so patiently) waiting for Squarespace to give us a timeline/update on when they are going to speed the backend up. They have said they are working on it, but Google is dropping a big update in just a few short weeks. In this update pagespeed is going to be a larger ranking factor then before so....

Pretty much all you can do is optimize images and video uploads, remove any JavaScript that you added, and everything is is untouchable by us.

Personally this is very frustrating for me and my clients!

Spark_Plugin got a reaction from AnnabelleDC in How do you use color in your website?
I agree with you @Jo_SQSP, using a color that stand out is the best way to go most of the time.
I've done quite a few reviews on peoples websites here on the forum, and one thing that I see many websites do wrong is not using colors that resonates with what they want to communicate.
    For example:
I want to be personal - use a warm/soft color like low-saturated beige or brown I want to show authority - use blue or black I want to stick out - use a distinct color like yellow or pink

@monocle.jasmin Good job with your website!😊 To be honest I dont have many improvements so I’ll just mention what I like.
I’m usually not a big fan of using many colors on a website, but I think you did a good job with it. The colors look good together. The ratio between the amount of text and images are nice. Great images! Good luck!

Spark_Plugin reacted to Tiny_Coast in What are your favorite SEO copywriting tips?
    1) Use headings to help google understand and prioritize your content and to help improve usability for website visitors.

    2) Don't create spammy copy for the sake of SEO. Also, don't get so caught up in clever copy that you miss out on SEO. Strive to create content that considers SEO and brand voice.

    3) Write as you naturally would. Yes, add headings and keywords, but do so in a way that it would happen organically.

Good job @Rainmaker (hehe, nice name)! Especially for being your first website! I like that it feels so "light".
    A few improvements:
Definitely agree with adding a short video introduction, good idea. The fonts and font sizes are good I think. However, would be nice if the "KEYNOTE SPEAKER - ONLINE EDUCATION..." at the bottom had smaller spacing (more normal spacing). It would increase readability. It would be nice to have another photo. Maybe if you add the video, you can use the photo of you a bit further down in the text. Good luck with your consulting business!😊

    These are my initial thoughts
The dark/burnt orange is great but the semi-dark mustard colour isn't working with the orange. The photos are all over the place and it's hard to stay focused on an area The text alignment are not consistent Example: "PLAYFUL PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY WITH A PURPOSE." is right justified, where as "PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY TO INVEST IN YOUR BRAND WORTH." is left justified. Either have one or the other or middle The heading and body text are not consistent Example: you have "FOR BRANDS TARGETING" in orange which suggests its important or heading on top of a body text, while "Custom tailored imagery to visually" is the same but it's under body text. Either have both orange at the top over a body text. "WHAT WE SOLVE" blue is too dark for the dark orange. I can already tell it fails the constrast checker test. https://webaim.org/resources/contrastchecker/ Your blue is #0B4466 and orange is#C64901, this failed all tests. You need to have a lighter blue Same with the mustard background: f4b61a and orange text. It failed I think you're showing way too much on the landing page, too many products, too much information to scroll through. Point of a landing page is to get people interested in a quick snapshot then links to lead to your other works. Don't have all your works displayed on one page, it's quite bombarding The "WORK BY INDUSTRY:" section, images are not the same size, this makes the text not aligned and makes the viewer look all over the place Footer is way too big. Your logo does not need to be that large. Make it small.
Over all you have great photos, alot to show and it does showcase the skill in these photos. If I was looking for a photographer and found this on google, I would prob look else where cause there is just way too much going on. Straight to the point is the best approach. Remember, stats show that people will look at your landing page for a few seconds and determine if they should continue reading.

yup! gotta agree with waht was mentioned above. i just have to suggest using a separate panel that will house the navigation menus so it does not look awkward on top like that. i think it changes as to the size of your browser. hope this helps.

Hello, just had a quick look - overall it's a good website.
'About' section, you should add a bit more of a background story, e.g. how you got into baking, why you love it, etc so your customers can relate. Make sure to check with alignment, idk if it is just my screen but where 'Why choose Onxy Lab?' is, all the text is not aligned with each other. Definitely recommend adding a block on your home page that is linked to your instagram so people can keep update with your most recent stock and see how your cakes appear, esp. if people have special requests (and it means you wouldn't need to constantly be updating your website to fit in with the endless possibilities) Checked your social media, links work well but definitely start thinking about building up your social media before launching the website.

Totally off topic, how did you add a username to your fb business page? It keeps saying I'm not eligible? I can't figure out if it's a glitch or I haven't fulfilled a certain criteria.  Good luck with everything 🙂

ironically to the service she provides, I feel like the overall feeling of the site is cluttered. The pictures kind of turn me in that direction and the logo as well. the title fonts and drop shadow on the fonts make it hard to read and the flow isn't quite there for me. I hope this helps.
