  1. I tampered with the Padding, reducing to 20px in the hope it would have a marked effect. (It didn't.) While it moves the banner closer to the navigation bar, the slideshow still appears to be mounted onto the fixed height, which is where the white space is occurring - the gap between the top of the banner and the top of the slideshow. I should also point out - for clarity - that ideally the banner height would only be affected on the homepage (about-us), however if this is not straightforward, then I can just work around by cropping images with photo editing software.
